"I've got no idea where these fuckers live," Gojyo shrugs, lighting two cigarettes and passing one over to Nobuto. "Figure we should try th'bar first?"

You staying where you are in the middle of the bridge, Kenren? Even when he gets right up in your face?

"But if you've got another lesson for me, Grandpa, I'm listenin'."

"You just here to fight? Or is there a point to this little dance?"

You want blunt? Gojyo can do blunt.

"Cigarettes. Hand 'em over."

"We've already had this fight, it's time for you to get a new game."

"Whatever you say."

New game? How about 'tag'? As in, stick to the head, tag, you're it!

Well you can't argue with the classics. Going to block that with his arm. And because he's an asshole, he's going to kick Gojyo in the shin.

You do that! It didn't work so well with Nobuto, but you've already got your arm up, and he can't resist. Bruise his shin all you like - since he's in close anyway, Gojyo's gonna bodycheck you against that railing and headbutt you in the nose. Hi.

See, the thing about the rail is it's not sturdy enough to take the full force of two guys the size of them. The railing cracks bowing out enough to keep Kenren from being able to have a decent defense, but it also keeps the full force of Gojyo's skull from cracking his nose.

Kenren saved his nose? Nice one! He's still pinned against that cracking railing, though. Wonder if scooting back a pace and giving him a good kick to the stomach will send him flying back enough to break it completely and drop him in the water? Let's find out!

...The kid really does set himself up for this a lot, doesn't he? Fine, he can scoot back all he wants, but he'd better be prepared for a boot to the head. Or side. Or, really, wherever the kick lands. Tenpou's not too picky, he'd just rather not have to fish his general out of his fishing spot.

Tenpou might find a stick in the way of that kick. Just 'cause he's not getting involved in Battle of the Identical Assholes doesn't mean he's gonna let Glasses there tip the balance.

"Nuh-uh. You mind your own fight, if you please."

'course, that means Gojyo's gonna have to move soon, if he wants any help in this. This bridge ain't big enough for both fights.

Nice Gojyo, Kenren's gonna scoot the other way, and grab your foot before that kick lands. Unfortunately that's going to cause enough momentum to finish breaking the rail. You up for a swim Gojyo?

Aw shit. Water. Fucking water. Why does he always end up falling in the fucking water?

"Shit!"

Oh man, his cigarettes are wrecked, and his leathers are soaked, and he lost his stick, and Kenren, you fucking asshole, you're getting grabbed and socked in the kidneys.

"I wasn't aware I had a prior engagement." He's going to glance at the one who stopped him, then down to the water to make sure no one was badly damaged in the fall, and then he will stand here and light up a smoke. Yes, calmly and in that order. And if he manages to get through all of that undisturbed, he'll know Mr. Big-man-with-a-stick here is truly an idiot and punch him in the head.

The first rule of fighting an unknown opponent is: don't make any rash moves. So, yes, Tenpou can have the first move, since he's gotten to see Nobuto fight (a little), whereas Nobuto has no idea what to expect.
The reason you don't make any rash moves, of course, is that it's much easier to react when you're not committed to attacking. So of course that punch doesn't really even come close to connecting. But opening moves are like that, no?

The second rule is, if your opponent thinks you're an idiot, let them. Time to put on his Street Punk face, honed through years of kicking the shit out of street punks.

"I'm not gonna go easy on ya just 'cause you're wearing glasses, y'know."

Well first Kenren's going to grab the arm that's holding him, and then he's going to use his elbow to block that kidney strike. And then, he's going to push back so you both fall back in the water again.

And then, Gojyo's going to be underwater. Contrary to popular opinion, he can't actually breathe underwater, so there's going to be lots of flailing and kicking and trying to get free. Gonna let him up, Kenren? He'd really appreciate it.

Well, no, he's gotten to see Nobuto and Gojyo try to knock what little brains they have out. He unfortunately missed the rest of the show.

He raises an eyebrow. "What a pity, and I was so expecting you to just forfeit."

That dodge apparently told him something, because he does look perfectly happy to just hang out and wait for Kenren to finish his fight while hoping Nobuto will get bored and wander off.

Bored, yes. Wander off, no. Kinda starting to get a bad feeling about Tenpou, though, so he'll just be over here out of easy reach, thanks.

"Nah, can't do that; you've still got all the smokes."

Man, those two are being noisy, down there. And that moron probably just got his one pack soaked through.

"Tch. They're not even my brand, either."

See, the thing about that last move putting Gojyo under the water, is that it put Kenren under the water too. So yeah, he's going to get off you and try to stand, he'd like to not drown.

Good luck standing. Gojyo isn't the greatest swimmer in the world on his best day, and his best day very rarely includes wet trousers and wet shoes and a nose full of river water. He's not letting go quite yet, sorry. Flailing for the surface, sure! But he's trying to climb up Kenren to get there. Give him a second (or thirty) and he'll realize that the water's not that deep, but in the meantime... how long can you hold your breath, Kenren?

Gojyo's pack and the pack Kenren was carrying. Congratulations.

Tenpou will be taking his time with this one, thanks. Which, by the way, is not his brand, either, but beggars can't be choosers. "I fail to see how that concerns you."

"Uh-huh; I'll bet you do."

He was considering bargaining for just a pack or two for himself, but this one's just a bit too smug for his tastes.

"See, I'd frankly be just as happy to get my own, but the way I hear it cigarettes are a little hard to come by around here."

Not long enough apparently, 'cause there is now water going into his mouth and when he can actually breathe again, the taste is not going to go away. If he elbows Gojyo in the ribs will he let go so one of them can actually stand up?

Getting elbowed in the ribs makes you exhale sharply... and then inhale just as sharply. Oh god oh fuck water is not good for breathing and it tastes like a swamp and shit get off get off! Gojyo's letting go, no question about that, and squirming and kicking away until he hits the bank. Then, there will be spitting and coughing and sputtering and, once he can get actual air into his lungs, so much glaring, you have no idea.

"Fuck you!"
