Another day (CLOSED)
Who: Pride, Greed, and anyone that wants to join
What: Wrestling with emotions
When: Sunset
Where: The forest
Summary: Pride confronts a few things about himself. Oh the emotional rollercoaster.
Rating: PG 13
Pride looked around his room as he lay upon his bed. His mind was flooded with thoughts and he didn't really know how to handle them. He pulled himself up onto his feet and walked out of the room and down the hallway. Not really wanting to disturb the others, he made his way down the hall, down the stairs, and out the front door. With a heavy sigh, he took off towards the forest. When he had arrived, he went into the thicket, walking a long a path that looked as though it had became overgrown with brush. He continued walking a long the path which lead up to a grassy green hill that overlooked much of the environment below. He took a seat on the lush green grass and stared out at his surroundings while the sun began to set.
"Damn it..." He murmured to himself as he pressed his hands upon the ground, leaning back slightly as he sat with his legs crossed. "I'm not supposed to be feeling like this. I'm not supposed to feel guilty about things, nor am I even supposed to have these problems. This isn't right. They call me Pride for a reason. I can't let simple things get to me. I'm not a fucking human. I'm a homunculus.." He thought to himself about how things had went on with Envy over the past few days and also about the time that he had spent with Greed. "Maybe I was too hard on Envy...No...No..What the hell am I saying? I need to get a hold of myself. I'm not a damn human. I shouldn't be feeling like this. "And what happened between Greed and I was..." He let out a small sigh and closed his eyes for a moment as a cool breeze greeted him.

As she came from the forest, out onto the hill, she dropped the basket of fruit she had brought from the forest in dull surprise. Edward...it -had- to be, and yet...something was wrong. His hair being loose about his shoulders had nothing to do with it...he was dressed like that homunculus--the one who had taken her son away from her. And those red markings...he couldn't be. Not Edward. He would tear his soul apart if he had to escape such a fate.
But caution was in her nature. She fought off her urge to be pleasant to him. "Edward...? Is that you?"

"It's beautiful, isn't it? The way how the sun is about to vanish off into the horizon?" He asked and laughed at himself. "I never thought I would ever take enjoyment in something so trivial." A small sigh had escaped from his lips. "If you are looking for Edward, him and Alphonse are in town somewhere. Or that's what I heard at least." He said and bent his knees, wrapping his arms around them and hugging them to his chest then resting his chin atop of them.

"The sun may disappear, but it will always be back the next morning." She was still cautious, slowly getting closer. "And even then, not even the night is entirely dark. There's the stars, and the moon most nights. The moon gets its light from the sun...so even in darkness, there is still the hope of morning."
A philosophical bent, but she didn't care. Something was wrong here. Very wrong. "Who did this to you...?"

"I suppose it was half my fault for ending up like this. Or moreso Edward's. The exchange wasn't enough. The price was too high and in turn, when it came to pay up, he had to deliver the only thing that he had left." He said as he finally stood up slowly and looked at Izumi. His eyes vacant and distant, almost empty. Not like Edward's at all which were so full of life. He brushed a few strands of hair away from his face and looked down at the ground. "He wanted something that he couldn't ultimately have. But I guess that's normal for most of you humans, isn't it? Always chasing after a dream that you can never quite grasp hold of?"

Those eyes...so -dead-. So unlike Edward. Whatever had happened, had it been enough to completely destroy Ed's personality? "Humans may chase after impossible dreams, but it gives them hope. It gives them a reason to live. Just like...this one here. He has a dream of owning everything. Which may seem dangerous and foolish to others, but it's his dream. And in your case...it probably gives you something to do with your eternity, doesn't it."
She had to ask. "What transmutation are you talking about?"

He stopped instantly taking Greed's warning for what is was worth. He gave a small shrug, maybe he was saying too much? His eyes lowered to the ground and curiosity started to get the best of him. "Why do you care anyways?" He asked Izumi. His words sounding bittersweet. If it were anyone else he probably would have lashed out at her, but there was something warm and comforting about Izumi that Pride couldn't quite put his finger on. With a heavy sigh, he took another glance at the sun as it was setting, almost gone now.

"You were my student. As was your brother Al. Do you remember? I was harsh with both of you...but I taught you everything I know about alchemy, and about life." She managed a slight smile. "In my eyes...you two were just as much my sons as my own child."
She ignored Greed, stepping forward to embrace Pride around his shoulders, just as she had done when she had seen the two of them that evening so long ago, when she saw the damage caused by the failed human transmutation of their mother. "I still love both of you."

"Lets go.." Pride said as he looked at Greed. He frowned at Izumi, "Edward and Alphonse are in town. I'm not Edward. He...I..." He stuttered and a few locks of hair fell down in front of his eyes. "My name is Pride...And I'm a homunculus." He stated then turned to leave, hoping that the other sin would follow. He didn't want there to be a fight for the sake of his other half and the other Elric brothers in town. He hated these damn emotions that were finally getting to him and tried to shut them off, but even so, they continued to swell and stir within himself.

"Is this what you're going to do, Pride? Let him treat you like a thing of -his-? You -are- Pride, aren't you? So why don't you start acting like it? Take pride in everything I ever taught Edward, take pride in the fact that his brother would do -anything- for him...and you. You're ten times the person that Greed can ever be!"
no subject
"You stupid fucking bitch." He hissed, slamming her harder against the tree. "Don't talk about what you don't fucking know. You're the nothing. You did the worst thing imaginable. You created one of us. Don't look down on your own fucking mistakes, you stupid bitch."
no subject
He sputtered, his voice filled with rage. "You fucking little brat, you need to stay gone..." Pride's eyes opened when it had started, the summoning of the transmutation circle. Damn that Edward, what the hell was he up to? He instantly backed away, trying to fight it off, scrambling backwards. "You son of a bitch!"

Already counting on Greed's distraction, Izumi began pulling herself out of his grasp. She was not a weak woman by any standards...years of hard physical training herself had primed her muscles for just this kind of encounter. And she wasn't about to be pushed around by Greed. She fought her way out of his grip completely and stood by Pride, keeping her eyes on Greed.
"How empty do you think you'll feel, Pride, if Edward's gone for good? Neither of you will be a complete person without the other. Why don't you just accept each other and become one person? It's better than being connected only by that mark, like Greed and Envy!"

She coughed as she looked up into those lifeless eyes...looked -past- them, and knew that Edward was looking back at her. A genuine smile touched her mouth as she got wearily to her feet, staggering a little. Words would just have enraged Greed even more, so she told the homunculus with her eyes--that she knew that he and Edward were so intertwined with each other that to remove one would in a sense "kill" the other. Pride still had Edward's kind and giving heart. Edward had always been willful and...well...proud of his accomplishments. They were part of each other, no matter what.
"I hope you find peace, Pride."
What else could she do in this situation? She ran.

He took a few quick steps backwards. He knew that he was in for it now since he did indeed betray the other sin and for a human no less. But in this case, Pride had made an exception for Edward. He didn't want to see someone so close to him die. He had already lost Alphonse. He brought up a hand and wiped a few drops of blood away from the split on his lower lip. "I'm not afraid of you..."

The battle that he had with himself back in the forest had almost caused him to fall unconscious because it was so intense. And now he was about to face off with one of the toughest sins? No way in hell. There was only one thing he could do. They both knew it was their weakest points, but he didn't want to take that route. The other sin meant too much to him. "Yeah? And maybe you're not so different from your former self either!"

The stench of fear was overwhelming. He changed back to his normal Greed self. "Why were you out there in the first fucking place? You just wanted to figure out why you felt so guilty for letting me fuck you?" He'd remembered what Pride had thought aloud.

"Not like you care anyways." He needed a way out of this conversation, now, or else he wasn't going to be able to keep up that front he had been putting on about not letting anything get to him. "Now do you mind? I'm going to my room. I need to take a shower." He said bluntly. He wanted to avoid conversations like this in the future, he was starting to dig his own grave and didn't want to keep at it.

"This..Is all new to me.." He admitted and gave an embarrassed smile. "I always thought humans were inferior to us because they let their lives revolve around emotions..But I suppose emotions aren't that bad of a thing to have." He stopped talking for a minute or so and gave a small smile. "I care about you too. You know, I wouldn't let just anyone get away with claiming me as their own."
