Pride looked around his room as he lay upon his bed. His mind was flooded with thoughts and he didn't really know how to handle them. He pulled himself up onto his feet and walked out of the room and down the hallway. Not really wanting to disturb the others, he made his way down the hall, down the stairs, and out the front door. With a heavy sigh, he took off towards the forest. When he had arrived, he went into the thicket, walking a long a path that looked as though it had became overgrown with brush. He continued walking a long the path which lead up to a grassy green hill that overlooked much of the environment below. He took a seat on the lush green grass and stared out at his surroundings while the sun began to set.

"Damn it..." He murmured to himself as he pressed his hands upon the ground, leaning back slightly as he sat with his legs crossed. "I'm not supposed to be feeling like this. I'm not supposed to feel guilty about things, nor am I even supposed to have these problems. This isn't right. They call me Pride for a reason. I can't let simple things get to me. I'm not a fucking human. I'm a homunculus.." He thought to himself about how things had went on with Envy over the past few days and also about the time that he had spent with Greed. "Maybe I was too hard on Envy...No...No..What the hell am I saying? I need to get a hold of myself. I'm not a damn human. I shouldn't be feeling like this. "And what happened between Greed and I was..." He let out a small sigh and closed his eyes for a moment as a cool breeze greeted him.

Izumi had been keeping up hope after her conversation with Duo at his pizza shop. Hope that Edward Elric and his brother were here...and yet apprehensive. What were those two doing here? Had the Malnosso completely stripped them of their ability to use alchemy as well? She couldn't understand this enemy, nor did she especially want to. She was dead, but she would help the brothers escape if she ever found a way. But the fact that someone had disappeared in an attempt to organize a rebellion worried her. Where did the people who disappeared go? Back to their worlds? Were they -killed-? But in this place, it seemed as though death wasn't permanent. She had heard through the grapevine what had happened to Riza Hawkeye. While she had no great love of the military, Izumi was hardened by the fact that the girl's memories had been completely wiped from her mind. An entire lifetime, gone in a moment...

As she came from the forest, out onto the hill, she dropped the basket of fruit she had brought from the forest in dull surprise. Edward...it -had- to be, and yet...something was wrong. His hair being loose about his shoulders had nothing to do with it...he was dressed like that homunculus--the one who had taken her son away from her. And those red markings...he couldn't be. Not Edward. He would tear his soul apart if he had to escape such a fate.

But caution was in her nature. She fought off her urge to be pleasant to him. "Edward...? Is that you?"

Greed had heard Pride leave, and being bored, had decided to follow him outside. He kept himself hidden and quiet as he followed Pride into the forest. He almost snorted when he heard what Pride was talking about in his mind. Feeling guilty about Envy? How could he? And what about him and Greed? What was wrong about that? But all those thoughts stopped when he noticed the Izumi woman standing there. He'd met her briefly in his own world. He hadn't realized that she was here too. But the fact that she thought Pride was Edward...that would prove to have interesting results.

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Her eyes were still on the crimson lines swirling on his skin. She couldn't believe that Edward of all people would give in to an existence like that... He was headstrong, and the proverbial pain in the ass, but to become a homunculus? She supposed it really -wouldn't- be his fault if it happened. The fault of whoever had done this terrible thing to him. But it made no sense. If this Edward was here, and there was another in town...

"The sun may disappear, but it will always be back the next morning." She was still cautious, slowly getting closer. "And even then, not even the night is entirely dark. There's the stars, and the moon most nights. The moon gets its light from the sun...so even in darkness, there is still the hope of morning."

A philosophical bent, but she didn't care. Something was wrong here. Very wrong. "Who did this to you...?"

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed dropped down from his hiding spot in the tree and stood between Izumi and Pride. "Who cares about there being morning? Night's way more fun." He grinned as he crossed his arms haughtily. "And does it matter who did it to him? Maybe he chose to be what he is." He didn't like this woman. He couldn't remember who she was, but she looked familiar. Not that it really mattered. She was getting too close to Pride, who was obviously not feeling himself at the moment, and that just wasn't sitting well with Greed.

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
She recoiled at the sudden entrance of...oh, -no-. Not -him- again. That bastard who was trying to use Al for...oh God knows what, she couldn't remember. It had been a very long, agonizing few years since then. She stepped back from both homunculi, her body tense. She knew she couldn't take them both down, but...it seemed that whichever Sin Ed had become wasn't even remotely interested.

Those eyes...so -dead-. So unlike Edward. Whatever had happened, had it been enough to completely destroy Ed's personality? "Humans may chase after impossible dreams, but it gives them hope. It gives them a reason to live. Just like...this one here. He has a dream of owning everything. Which may seem dangerous and foolish to others, but it's his dream. And in your case...it probably gives you something to do with your eternity, doesn't it."

She had to ask. "What transmutation are you talking about?"

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed laughed at Izumi's little speech. "Hope? Dreams? I don't dream of owning everything. I do own it. I get to take whatever I want whenever I want. Like Pride for example. He's mine. Which is why you shouldn't be talking to him. Or asking questions." He didn't like her asking so many questions. It wasn't any of that woman's business. "And Pride," He glanced back at the Sin with a growl, "Don't go spilling secrets to just anyone."

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
She dropped her prodding at Greed's request, although she couldn't refuse answering Pride's question. It didn't matter what he was, to her. He was still Edward to her, and he always would be. But to have no memory of -anything- that had happened...not even remembering Alphonse? This was a mockery of everything good and decent. Ed would never do anything to further any sort of agenda of his. Everything he did, everything he was, was for his younger brother.

"You were my student. As was your brother Al. Do you remember? I was harsh with both of you...but I taught you everything I know about alchemy, and about life." She managed a slight smile. "In my eyes...you two were just as much my sons as my own child."

She ignored Greed, stepping forward to embrace Pride around his shoulders, just as she had done when she had seen the two of them that evening so long ago, when she saw the damage caused by the failed human transmutation of their mother. "I still love both of you."

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed shoved the woman away roughly, taking Pride's wrist in his hand and not letting go. "Bitch." He spat, all signs of his trademark grin gone. "He's not Ed. He's mine and you have no right to touch my things. Get the fuck away from here before I rip your wings off your back in the most slow and painful way possible." He held up his hand, letting his shield show.

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Izumi recovered her balance quickly, glaring daggers into that metal monstrosity's head. She stood back at a good distance and turned her gaze to Pride. "If you're Pride, and you were made from Edward, then there has to be something left of him. Just like there was something left of my son! Why are you hanging around something like Greed, huh? He's nothing but a pathetic, delusional man who thinks he owns everything. But he can never own people's souls. He can't own the Gate. He can't even own his own -remains-.

"Is this what you're going to do, Pride? Let him treat you like a thing of -his-? You -are- Pride, aren't you? So why don't you start acting like it? Take pride in everything I ever taught Edward, take pride in the fact that his brother would do -anything- for him...and you. You're ten times the person that Greed can ever be!"

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed had been about to turn around and follow Pride back to the house. If the other sin didn't want to fight, then he wouldn't. But then the stupid woman had to open her stupid fucking mouth again. Greed was on her in a second, pinning her to a tree, growling.

"You stupid fucking bitch." He hissed, slamming her harder against the tree. "Don't talk about what you don't fucking know. You're the nothing. You did the worst thing imaginable. You created one of us. Don't look down on your own fucking mistakes, you stupid bitch."

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"You think I don't know what I did? I think about it every -day-, you bastard. I know I should have kept him by my side. I let what I thought I knew about your kind cloud my judgment and my instincts. And I've come to terms with the fact that he will never forgive me. But that doesn't mean I love him any less! Before I died, he came to know that too."

Already counting on Greed's distraction, Izumi began pulling herself out of his grasp. She was not a weak woman by any standards...years of hard physical training herself had primed her muscles for just this kind of encounter. And she wasn't about to be pushed around by Greed. She fought her way out of his grip completely and stood by Pride, keeping her eyes on Greed.

"How empty do you think you'll feel, Pride, if Edward's gone for good? Neither of you will be a complete person without the other. Why don't you just accept each other and become one person? It's better than being connected only by that mark, like Greed and Envy!"

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed couldn't stand her anymore. It was her fault Pride was in pain and he wasn't going to put up with it. While she was busily trying to talk him into accepting his other half, Greed reached around and pulled about six feathers violently from her back. "Get the fuck away from him! You don't even know what you're talking about!" He yanked her away from Pride, throwing her to the ground, pinning her there and refused to be distracted by Pride's screaming. "I still know plenty about my old self. And y'know what? I hate it." He punched her none-too-gently in the stomach. "You're a stupid bitch and if you know what's good for you, you'll leave him the fuck alone." With diverting his attention in the least, he growled to Pride, "Get the fuck away from here...NOW."

[identity profile] one-pillar.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Pain in her back, pain in her body. It took her a while to be able to look at Pride properly, panting to catch her breath again. She would need to have her torso looked at...the pain of her organs told her what she had already suspected--her body was whole again. At the price of probably never being able to use alchemy again.

She coughed as she looked up into those lifeless eyes...looked -past- them, and knew that Edward was looking back at her. A genuine smile touched her mouth as she got wearily to her feet, staggering a little. Words would just have enraged Greed even more, so she told the homunculus with her eyes--that she knew that he and Edward were so intertwined with each other that to remove one would in a sense "kill" the other. Pride still had Edward's kind and giving heart. Edward had always been willful and...well...proud of his accomplishments. They were part of each other, no matter what.

"I hope you find peace, Pride."

What else could she do in this situation? She ran.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Greed snarled at the sudden interruption of his fight with the bitchy woman. He let the woman go though and turned to Pride with a dark look. "You're weaker than I thought you were. I can't believe you just tried to pick a fight with me of all people." He took Pride by his arm and started draging him through the forest. "I really don't give a shirt how Edward's fucking with your head right now because you are in deep shit." When they reached the house again, he literally threw the other sin into it, not caring what he threw him into.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
"That's your second mistake then." Greed flexed once and shed what bit of human cover he had, letting his shield take over. It was much more frieghtening than anything else he could have done. "You're listening to that annoying voice in the back of your head too much. I guess you really mustn't be that different from Ed."

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Greed laughed at him, flexing his claw-hands, "Oh, I know I'm not that different. The thing about Greed is that you want everything. I wanted to be what I am. My body accepted it with a glee like no other homunculi could have. You on the other hand..." He shrugged, taking a step towards him, "The FullMetal shrimp was just as proud as anyone could be. Why would he let someone take over his body?"

The stench of fear was overwhelming. He changed back to his normal Greed self. "Why were you out there in the first fucking place? You just wanted to figure out why you felt so guilty for letting me fuck you?" He'd remembered what Pride had thought aloud.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Greed grabbed Pride's arm before he got very far, pulling him close and holding both arms against Pride's side. "Then what is it?" He asked fairly softly, "I don't like watching you walk off into the forest by yourself. What would you have done if you ran into someone else instead of that woman?" Not that he cared. He didn't. Greed didn't care or need anyone but himself.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Greed didn't let go of the smaller body when he demanded to be let go. Instead, he pushed him against the wall, his fingernails digging in, "Don't tell me what I care about. I do mind, actually, since I was talking to you. And for another thing, you weren't doing jack shit. You were letting that stupid woman verbally attack you at your weakest point."

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Greed was slightly stunned, but only slightly. And within a minute, he had kicked open Pride's room and roughly pushed Pride against the wall again. "You have to explain things to me because your mine. Weather you want the damn attention or not is not my concern, but you know what?" He bit down roughly on Pride's neck, gripping a few feather on Pride's wing at the same time, "Unfortunetly, I have enough human to still care about what the fuck happens to idiots like you."

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
He waited, but when no other words were forthcoming, Greed pulled his mouth away from Pride's neck to glare at him slightly. "What the hell is wrong with you? You're more emotional than a pregnant woman." He frowned slightly, "Pfft. You know what? Don't tell me? S'not like I'm supposed to care, right? Maybe I'll just go with that, since you don't like me anymore." He turned away from him, shoving his hands in his pockets as he removed himself from the sin's room.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Greed wasn't surprised in the least when he was shoved against a wall and kissed roughly, letting his hands rest lightly on Pride's waist. "Then why're you being so bitchy?" He asked with a grin, obviously joking around. It was what Greed did best, after all. Why spend all your time angry and pissed when you could be enjoying life? "I was trying to do something that a caring person might do. Guess I was wrong?"

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Greed raised an eyebrow and shrugged slightly. "Sorry, I don't think much of what I could say would help you with that." He hesitated, his hands moving in slightly soothing circles at Pride's waist. "Don't say that I don't care though. If I claimed you as mine, then I have to care some."

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Clearing his throat, Greed refused to meet Pride's eyes, his hands still resting lightly. It seemed Greed was a bit embarrassed as well. "We have emotions too, they're just muted quite a lot." He said, trying his hardest to ignore the small crack in his voice. Pride was being affectionate. Not what he had expected.

[identity profile] guridosama.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Greed wanted to pull his face away and toss Pride away, but because it was Pride, he couldn't even think about it. Instead, he growled slightly, "You're mine. All mine." He pulled the sin close to him, giving him a kiss, though it was much more gentle than any kiss he'd given anyone before.
