forgetting all your hidden monsters
Who: Kirihara Naoya (
therisen_sun), Uchiha Itachi (
unownedboy)
What: Naoya getting traumatized
When: Midday
Where: Somewhere
Summary: A chance encounter between a psychic and a ninja--and the psychic's gonna regret it in the morning.
Rating: PG-13, probably.
Naoya felt infinitely more at home here than in the hustle and chaos of Tokyo, he'd decided. The forest was cool and quiet, save for the voices of the animals. He hadn't felt this connected to something so much larger than him since the forest he'd grown up playing in--since he'd connected to the energy hidden there.
The press of everyone's feelings felt sometimes like they were drowning him, but here in the forest he could be alone with his own thoughts. The wall he was slowly building to keep others out was distracting him from his surroundings, though he felt safe enough anyway.

Cautiously, he came to a halt several yards from where he judged the other to be, crouched on a sturdy oak branch, mostly hidden by a thick canopy of leaves. He eased a pair of kunai from his pouch, alert for any suspicious movement. It was true that while being out in the forest alone did not immediately constitute suspicious behavior, but Itachi had not lived as long as he had by being careless.
For the moment, he would wait.

If he hadn't been sitting up, he might have seemed asleep. He still might have.

Cautiously, he eased down from the tree and padded forward, still keeping plenty of space between himself and the other. They looked healthy enough, but ... one could never be certain.
Still content to wait it out, he ducked into the shadow of another tree, back pressed against the bark, waiting.]
