A Day In Another World

Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.

Quick run of things to keep in mind:

-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.

Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!

ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

[ Joshua had been asleep when the experiment kicked in. Had been, because the moment it's kicked in he is awake. The room he's suddenly in is large and nearly deserted, not the sort of thing you'd expect to find in a bustling city, but Joshua knows the sound that he doesn't so much hear as feel.

It's Shibuya. It's his Shibuya, and he's really back. Whatever the Malnosso had done, it worked. For several moments, he settles back into the throne as a relief like none other washes over him.

... Sorry, Vash, you're going to think you're rather alone for a little bit. Joshua is on a different plane of existence for the moment. He'll get to you soon enough. ]

[Vash had not exactly been expecting to suddenly find himself in a completely different world as he had been walking to the bakery that day. The first thing he wanted to do as he suddenly found himself on a busy street was to yell, but he bit his tongue down as people hurried by him.

Where was he? Who were these people!? He's never seen any of them in Luceti before, and this was defiantly not Luceti. He's never seen so many people in his life.

He suddenly feels very tall and exposed out here on the street. Wearing bright red and standing a bit taller than most around him. Crap. What was he going to do? He has no money here. Was this part of Bil's experiment he had been talking about?

With nothing else to do he starts moving. Looking a bit like a western tourist the way he gawked at all the buildings and what seemed to be an endless wave of people around him. This was nothing like Gunsmoke or Luceti. He tries to keep his eyes open for anyone he could recognize from Luceti, surely at least one other person had to be here with him, right?]

[ Luckily for Vash, it doesn't take too long for Josh to realize that someone was supposed to come with him. Someone who's not here.

In another second he's out on the busy street, eyes passing among the familiar crowds, trying to find the one person out of place. He doesn't know who he's looking for, but considering they wouldn't be from his world, their Music is probably pretty different--

there.

In another instant he's standing behind Vash. No doubt about it.

Hmm, this guy seems familiar... ]

Luceti?

[Vash jumps slightly at suddenly having a voice behind him, but he smiles a bit when he hears the word Luceti.] Ah, yeah. Here I was starting to think they had sent me somewhere alone.

... Ah, you're that optimist. [ Joshua giggles. He'd recognize that voice. ]

Then I suppose I'm playing the welcome party. This is Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, Earth. Year 2007. [ And for just a moment, the smirk on his face has lost its edge, falling into more of a smile. ] My home.

[goldenglasses]

I have a name you know. It's Vash.

So, this is Earth? Two thousand seven... [He trails off. Could this Earth maybe eventually become the Earth Rem and the others had to leave behind? With all these people it sure did seem like the could be putting a strain on the planet.]

You're home. How- how's the ol' Earth managing these days, anyway?

Vash, then.

[ Joshua turns around and stares off into the crowd, the half-smirk, half-smile still on his face. He's home. ]

That depends on just what you're asking about. It's a big planet, after all.

And... what can I call you?

Hm, and I suppose, I dunno, in general. Is the planet pretty healthy? This looks like a lot of people? Do you really have enough supplies so they can all live for the next say... thousand years or so?

[ He thinks on that for a few seconds. ]

Probably not. [ Joshua giggles. ] But that's not really my concern. And you can call me Joshua.

XD Wow. Go them.

But what about your children's children. Don't you think it's their concern?

[neverplaysfair]

Nope. [ The dead tend to be rather infertile. ] I hardly think it's your concern, either. After all, you'll only be here a day, if what we were told is right.

[goldenglasses]

Just making a friendly suggestion is all. [Vash realizes there really isn't much he can do about that. Not like this at least. Everything they'd try to do anyway today would be erased.]

So, I guess you're home for the day. I don't know anything about this place, so is there any place you'd like to see before we're sent back?

[neverplaysfair]

No. I just want to be here. [ He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. After a moment, Joshua reaches over his shoulder and touches his back.

No scars.

So they'll probably still be there when he returns to Luceti. Of course. Things could never be that nice. ]

What sort of things do you like?

Me? I like donuts, I'm starved. But I don't have a single double dollar on me.

[neverplaysfair]

Yen. [ He giggles. ] We use yen here.

[ And without further explanation, Joshua starts walking. ]

[goldenglasses]

[ACK! Don't leave him! Vash quickly follows behind him. Staring around at everything as they go.] Yen, huh?

Where are we going?

A bakery I like. Will that do?

[ And he leads Vash past a giant department store and several large music stores. ]

[goldenglasses]

A bakery!? That's would be perfect! I'd love to see this bakery of yours!

[ Then we will wander past another large music store and another department store. Are you sensing a trend yet. ]

What's your world like?

[goldenglasses]

Well, nothing like this. [Huh, he's starting to wish he had kept a count on all these music and department stores.] It's a lot uh... drier.

[neverplaysfair]

[ There's a lot. Joshua could tell Vash an exact number, but I don't feel like estimating one off the top of my head right now just to put it in the smalltext anyway. ]

Like a desert?

[goldenglasses]

Actually, I'd say EXACTLY like a desert. One big, endless desert.

Pretty much. There's a couple patches with a few plants.
