What: More event shenanigans

Summary: It's that special time when the Malnosso collect all their recent experiments and apply them all at once to measure effectiveness. Although invaluable as research, it tends to leave the subjects looking just a bit mad.

[Looking for a distraction from the experiment (and his thought bubbles), Shikamaru's decided to stick to some form of routine. This means training. Today it's parkour, ninja-style. It's a good way to keep his head clear.

Free-running through the forest behind the school, he swings through the playground when he thinks no one's around.

[Too bad. Aang is on a swing, using Airbending to dramatically increase his arc. And he makes a jump from the swing just as Shikamaru is passing through...]

[-well shit. He was aiming for the bar at the top of the swing, but he wasn't expecting the kid to go so high. There's nothing to stop himself with, so to avoid a collision...

Hi, Aang, hope you don't mind getting snatched out of the air. With one arm full of kid, Shikamaru uses his other hand to latch onto the bar in the next second, swinging around to crouch on top of it.]

[It's unexpected but not unwelcome. He laughs and whoops as he goes through the stunt.]

Wow, you're good! Not many people can catch an Airbender!

[Of course he'd laugh. Troublesome-

Kid?]

Not many people nearly run head-on into Airbenders either, I bet.

[Okay, hold tight. Jumping the short distance down.]

[He still cheers during the drop.]

Nope, that doesn't happen a lot. Except hog monkeys when you get 'em mad.

[There you go, Aang, back on the ground. Shikamaru raises an eyebrow at that comment, then pulls at his shirt quizzically, playing it up.]

Well I'm pretty sure I'm not a hog monkey...

[Once he's set on the ground, he starts running around in a circle, stopping only to get a good look at Shikamaru.]

Nope! You look like a pineapple man!

You're a kid, so I'll let you get away with that one.

Okay! Can you play air ball?

Do I have to be able to airbend to play?

Then we're outta luck. This is the closest to airbending I'll ever get.

['This' being him taking a deep breath to fill his cheeks with air, then blowing it out.]

[He laughs, the humor overcoming any disappointment.]

[Looking up at Shikamaru, he manages to see the bubble enough to make out the last word.]

I know hide and seek now. What about training, is that like a game?

It's a lot of work. Hide and seek sounds far more interesting.

Okay, we can play that! But can we make it a rule that you can't make yourself disappear? It's not fair when Katara does it after I find her.

Ehh? I thought that's the whole point of the game.

But it's not like running away, it's like she poofs into the air! It looks cool, but it's too big a head start. [And kinda scary.]
