[While Sayo has been bustling about being a good samaritan, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Mithos hasn't gone anywhere. Whenever she finally comes back, he'll be in his room as always. He did worry about her, in the moments when the violent weather outside actually penetrated deep enough to pry him out of his own head. Most of the time it had meant little to him.

He hears her enter the apartment, but he doesn't move from where he is.]

[She is so unbearably exhausted, but she's at least kept him updated every once in a while to make sure he was okay. When she collapses at the table in her chair, she puts down a box of food she's brought over for him and lays her head against the surface.

Aaah. It's a shame she can't sleep. Not that she knows what it feels like. It must be nice, though. However, she's certainly a little feverish and stuffy from a full few days of maneuvering in awful weather and working herself silly.]

[He waits a few long moments. When he doesn't hear her walking down the hallway, he thinks about getting up but his limbs don't take the initiative.

Just try. He has spent too much of the past week withdrawing from the world, shell-shocked, when solitude is the last thing he wants. He's tired of it. His door creaks open and several quiet footsteps later, he's poking into the living room area.]

[She looks up to him, shifting to sit up off the surface of the table; she's tired, really. Very tired. But it doesn't stop her from being genuinely happy to see him after all that mess.]

Ah, hello! I'm sorry for being away for so long. I'd ran into a little trouble and had to stay at the restaurant until the storm died down.

You came back... [Which is his way of saying that it's okay she was gone. But he did miss her. Even though he's shared few words with her in the past week, he missed knowing she was around.

He goes to sit by her.]

[She slides the boxed food to him, smiling still. He may notice she's temporarily kimono-less, instead dressed in surprisingly normal clothes. Shirt, skirt, things that are just strange to see her in compared to her usual wardrobe.]

I brought you something to eat! I hope you had enough here to hold you over--I tried to keep some groceries here before I left.

[DID YOU REMEMBER HOW TO COOK THINGS...]

[He looks down at the box, then back to her. He guesses that the change in attire was to free up her movement, and he briefly worries if she would have made it out okay restricted by her usual kimono.]

I had enough. [Cooking wasn't the problem - the problem was remembering to eat. He realizes he hardly recalls leaving his own room the past few days.]

Oh, that's good! [She looks up, and behind her smile is the sinister plan to MAKE YOU EAT.] Please, eat. I'll bet you've been neglecting your eating--if you want to stay healthy, you have to eat properly, Mithos!

[How does she know...? Mithos is obviously unfamiliar with the universal truth that moms always know everything.]

...I just forget to. I have a lot on my mind. [This is why he tinkered around with his Cruxis Crystal until his body no longer needed food, the very first time he lost Martel. Having one more thing to throw himself into had helped him to at least pretend to escape the cloying darkness. The past week he's found himself wishing more frequently that he still had his Crystal.]

Isn't that my job? [A soft laugh.] It's okay to have a lot on your mind, but please keep yourself healthy, okay? I wouldn't want you hurting your stomach.

[Heeey, she remembers what a stomach is!

[He says nothing, because he knows he can't make any promises. Eating is an insignificant matter compared to everything else weighing on his mind, easily chased to the margins of his thought, but he opens the lid of the box. He doesn't want to worry her too much.

So what did you bring me, mama? Hm, hm?]

[She brought you garlic chicken with vegetables in rice! Hope you're not a vampire! 8D]

You'll have to tell me how it turned out; I've never cooked chicken this way before.

[She's been making fish and chicken so much, it's hard to forget them. Just. Don't tell her that they used to be living creatures. :|]

He takes up the pair of chopsticks included in the box - he's starting to get the hang of these things - and goes in for a small piece of the chicken. He chews slowly.]

[She's going to casually start fixing little things here and there--things that must've shifted from the thundering and weather. There's glass in the corner that needs to be cleaned up from a fallen vase...]

I figure if you wanted to eat new things... I know I can be a little too routine times...

[He nods, selecting a veggie. Nom nom nom.]

I don't mind. [Routine, ritual, and predictability are all things he can anchor himself to. He watches her move about the apartment as he slowly picks his way through dinner, suddenly a little bothered.]

...You should be resting. Let me clean up the damage when I'm done.

Oh, but... are you sure? You don't have to, Mithos. I'm sure it wouldn't take me too long...

You've been out for days...you're tired. Let me do it.

Well... if you're sure. I suppose it has... been a while since I've had a decent sit-down.

[Like she knows that the bleary-eyed look means to have.]

[... She smiles softly before settling down beside him.

Mmn... I know. I couldn't imagine you could. It's better to think about her than to forget or push those feelings aside, I think... [She looks down, frowning.] I'm sorry I can't make everything better for you.
