Event Log -- A Kin'coran Play-date

Who: Luceti vs. Kin’cora, preliminary social bout.
What: Luceti has been voluntold that they must host Kin’coran survivors of a Cultist invasion.
When: Kin’cora refugees will start arriving at the southern barrier around 12PM.
Where: Luceti, duh. All of it.
Summary: Can you still call it a humanitarian effort if not all of us are humans?
Rating: G to PG, folks. Take anything else to your appointments.

As described here. Couple things to keep in mind, folks!

Although the Kin’corans will arrive around noon, it’s a 30 mile trek from the southern barrier to the village. They do have some horses and carts but it will be a slow trickle into town, not a sudden flood.

Have fun with your NPCs. Remember -- if from a canon, they should be minor, off-screen characters. No one appable! If you have any doubts please err on the side of asking us.

Included below are some conversational snippets your characters can hear from various Kin’coran refugees. Additionally, your characters may be able to talk parts or all of a timeline for the Kin'coran enclosure out of the refugees. Use these instead of NPCs or in addition to them -- it’s up to you! Also remember to tag your [canon] character name to the log!

[Before the refugees arrive, Aang apparently is sent into the forest to seek an audience with Moro. Maybe that happens here I don't know.

But after the refugees arrive, Aang's conflict begins. Here he is, with severely limited bending that makes getting around all the more tedious. But he still sees all these suffering people, shattered by a harsh war which is an uncomfortable remind of the way things were back home, and he sees his duty as the Avatar.

So Aang will be patrolling primarily around the town to try to help refugees settle in peacefully and trying to break up disputes wherever they occur. Although he does patrol the forest to make sure things are okay and possibly checks up on Katara at the school, he tries to avoid these areas as much as possible due to the hunting and the after-effects of it; he may respect his non-vegetarian friends' diets, but that doesn't mean he can stomach a front row seat of the process.

As Aang patrols, he tries to get the other Avatars to come and help him out. The more the better, right? Korra's away to help with the fishing crew initially (with a chance of returning later on), but there's a chance he'll still be accompanied by Roku as he makes his rounds.]

[As Aang patrols, he may well run into Zuko doing about the same thing he's been doing. Zuko, however, is trying to stay away from disputes; he knows well enough that he can make them worse without even meaning to.

Hey, he knows his limitations.

As it is, he's scurrying from one end of the village to the other, helping where he can. Say hello?]

[Aang's taking a breather after breaking up a fight at the item shop when he spots that Fire Prince approaching. He gives a lazy wave.]

Hey, Zuko.

[Have a lazy wave returned. Zuko looks like he'd love to crawl into a hole and sleep for awhile.]

Hey yourself. How's it going?

[As long as he isn't thinking of joining the Sleepy-heads Club. Aang needs all the allies he can get in his "up at sunrise" brigade.]

Really hectic. There's so many arguments going on around here, I'm stretching myself thin trying to help everyone. How about you?

I'm stretching myself thin trying to avoid the fights.

Avoid them? [He's incredulous at first. But then he remembers who Zuko is.] That... might actually be pretty wise of you.

I do have my moments.

You do. But maybe you do better in a team. Wanna look for someone to help together?

[burningdownfate]

[Staaaaare.] You just never stop, do you?

[savedtheworld]

[He answers with a bright smile.]

Not when there's still more people who could need us! [And he gives a tug at Zuko's arm.] C'mon Zuko!

[burningdownfate]

[It's with half-hearted grumbled that Zuko gives in.] Right. Where are we off to?

[savedtheworld]

Well we could try the grocery store! People keep on getting into arguments about food there.

[But Aang keeps his eyes open for any other signs of conflict or distress as they head in that direction.]

[burningdownfate]

Yeah. [And flatly:] They just seem to get madder when you suggest no one eats for awhile.

[savedtheworld]

It's understandable. Lots of people are used to eating more. I guess even I've gotten used to having lots of meals and snacks. It's been a long time since we had to live off of whatever we could find or what little we could afford on our journeys.

[burningdownfate]

[Well, his joke fell flat. Not that that's new or anything.] Some people never have. It's a big thing, even if you've done it before.

[savedtheworld]

[He'd laugh if he weren't feeling stressed by all of this.]

That's true. Especially since this place makes food and stuff seem so... limitless. At least... this can't go on for long, right?

[burningdownfate]

Yeah. We'll be back to scurrying around in our relatively normal lives in a few days. Hopefully.

[savedtheworld]

We were lucky that it really didn't take that long for things to repair themselves after the storm. Maybe things can be sorted out pretty fast with this too. Has anything like this ever happened before?

[burningdownfate]

No, not like this. I think we've had a couple food shortages and, like with the storm, sometimes things don't repair themselves right away but nothing where we're hosting refugees.

[flameoroku]

[Speaking of Roku, here he comes, out of the forest after dealing with a dispute over who killed what and who should claim the kill. He was aware how sensitive Aang was when it came to something like this, so he gladly volunteer to help patrol the forest and deal with things like that.

Doesn't make it more enjoyable though.]

Hey Aang...[He says with a wave as he joins him at the edge of the forest.]

[He perks up slightly as he sees Roku.]

Oh, hey there Roku. How have things been going in there?

[flameoroku]

Manageable, for the most part. People are getting a little more on edge though. I had to stay with one group to make sure they wouldn't turn against each other the moment I left.

[A sigh.] I hope things won't turn for the worse by the end of the week. What about you?

Hectic. There's fights breaking out everywhere that I have to keep settling. And I have to keep stopping Kin'Corrans from trying to get into the forest alone cuz of how angry Moro is. This is a nightmare.
