Pinkie's New Feather Party: The Masquerade Ball!

The night is finally here! Pinkie Pie and friends have been working hard to get everything absolutely perfect. The Battle Dome has been done up to look like a grand ballroom, complete with dance hall and dining area. A small, but elegantly decorated stage is situated in the middle of the dance hall, and is equipped with microphones and speakers for anyone willing to perform. Otherwise, the dome is set up to play songs on request.

The dining area is equipped with a buffet-style dinner selection, filled with food contributed by various donators, highlighted by a large cake at the central table, which is then surrounded by smaller tarts, pies and pastries. Wine, champagne, and other choice drinks are available from ice chests near the buffet line.

Finally, since it was so popular with the last party, the night will be ended with a fireworks display over the dome. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie will be going around making sure everyone gets home safely, before returning to the dome to start cleaning up.

Note: Like Pinkie's last party, this one has a theme: a Masquerade Ball. Everyone who enters must wear a mask, and keep it on for the entirety of the party. If you haven't picked one out yourself, Pinkie would be more than happy to provide one for you.

[Aang, of course, gets his own impression about the sunglasses when he finds Sokka on the buffet line, lifting his own mask up for a better view. He hadn't gotten a good luck at Sokka's get-up on the way there.]

Sokka! Did something happen to your eyes?

[Sokka runs a finger along the edge of his shades.]

Yeah, Aang. They became amazing.

But those glasses are all dark! How can you see? [Did you catch Toph's blindness?]

Well, it's kind of hard...

Why didn't you wear a mask?

[markofthewise]

This IS my mask, Aang. And it's much cooler than everyone else's.

[savedtheworld]

What do you mean? Glasses aren't mask, no matter how dark they are.

[markofthewise]

Hey. It's disguising me, isn't it? That makes it a mask.

[savedtheworld]

It's not disguising you that much. You should be wearing something like this!

[He pulls the mask over his face and tilts his head to the side.]

[markofthewise]

Uh huh. Last time I wore something like that, we almost got caught by firebenders.

[savedtheworld]

But there's no Firebenders to catch you here. Just... people to dance with.

[markofthewise]

That's technically untrue. You and Korra are here. That's two firebenders.

[savedtheworld]

You sure got us, Sokka. Here we two Avatars were, ready to capture you the moment you put on a mask. Cause... that's what we do.

[markofthewise]

It could happen. You are being particularly critical of my choice in disguise.

I'm just saying that doesn't count as a mask. And it might mess you up when you try to dance!

I don't plan on dancing, Aang.

[savedtheworld]

Not at all? But you should know lots of good dances!

[markofthewise]

"I do. But-- look, I don't need to explain it. You know why."

It was a subject he was afraid they'd have to dance around.

"Y-yeah. Sorry. I- I just thought... you'd be okay with dancing that's... y'know, just friendly."

[markofthewise]

"Well, it's hard to think of it being friendly."

He only learned for her sake, after all.

Only because he didn't pay attention to Aang's awesome Fire Nation cave demonstration. But Aang tries to stay chipper about it and puts a hand on Sokka's shoulder.

"It's not as hard as you think, once you let the music take over. Dancing doesn't have to be... a date or anything. It's all about loosening up and having fun to music. You could even dance with Ikki or Katara and have a great time. Just dancing by yourself can feel so liberating." He knows from those wacky jigs he likes to break into all the time.

[markofthewise]

"... I'm not dancing with my sister, Aang."

There was no words for how weird that would be.

Aang sighs.

"You don't have to. Do you at least get what I'm trying to say?"

[markofthewise]

"When you danced with my sister in the cave, was it just a friendly dance for you?"

Now that he knew that Aang loved his sister, it put everything in the past in a whole new perspective.

Aang turns red as he answers.

"No, it was - well it was supposed to, but- that's beside the point! I... was being just friendly when I danced with On Ji, so... you could too?"
