Halloween is once again descending on Luceti! There's a maze and some mists and some ghoulish visitors and all kinds of pranks. Oh, and the parties. Don't forget the parties. Or the candy. Man, those kids on the draft don't know what they're missing.

As a reminder:

Starting on the 28th (yesterday) and going until the 31st, strange thngs are happening in Luceti. This is for those who have stayed behind from the draft OR for those who have been safely evacuated from the draft after their requisite quarantine time.

Get lost in the maze! Get rid of the spiders and rats and bats! Eat candy! Try on costumes! Do stuff unrelated to these weird happenings!

Be pranked! Do pranks of your own (if you wanna take advantage of the great scapeghosts)! Go to their harvest festival party!

Most of all? Have a spooktacularly fun time.

Oh. [Well, that makes sense to her.]

Here. [She reaches for one of his braids to start undoing it.]

[The ghosts seem to be displeased, but Vincent looks relieved.]

...thank you.

[The ghosts are just going to have to deal with it. In the meantime, Grune is going to be unplaiting Vincent's hair with perhaps surprising dexterity.]

You're welcome. I'm happy that I can help you.

[He's definitely surprised, by her efficiency and the fact that she's so willingly helping against those ghosts. He'd thought she would join with them.]

You're helping a great deal.

Oh, that's good. I'm glad.

[She keeps working, even when one of the disgruntled ghosts starts yanking at her veil. Sorry, but she has an important job to do here, helping her friend.]

[Vincent glares at the ghost, trying to wave it away from Grune.]

I owe you for this...

[The ghost skitters away, but only just out of arm's reach. It then proceeds to blow a raspberry.

Grune, for her part, finishes undoing the first braid, then pulls out a ribbon and starts on the next.]

Oh, no, you don't owe me at all. Helping each other out is what friends do for each other.

[Vincent gives the ghost a glare in exchange.]

Are you certain?

[She's just saved him from a truly horrific fate, after all.]

[And now the ghost is just going to divebomb him. Heads up!]

I'm certain! I know that you would do exactly the same thing for me.

I would, if it came to it. You have my wor-

[Suddenly cut off by an INCOMING GHOST!]

[Unfortunately, Grune has very little in the way of reflexes, and so the ghost shoots right through her. She pauses with her hands still in his hair and shivers.]

Oh, my.

[That was a little chilly.]

...Are you all right?

[He's sure that's an unpleasant feeling.]

[Automatically:]

Oh, yes, I'm just fine.

[She is still shivering a little, though.

Meanwhile, the ghost finds this hilarious. It's not very polite, is it?]

[Vincent gives the ghost a glare.]

Well... if you're certain. I don't think they intend physical harm, only... to play pranks upon us.

[The ghost responds by giving him a rude gesture--which Grune doesn't understand in the slightest. Whoops.]

I think they're very hungry, too.

[He scowls.]

A shame that bullets would do them no harm.

[She gives him a completely bewildered look.]

Why would you want to hurt them?

[That wouldn't be very nice.]

Well... perhaps to threaten them, at least.

[Is that better!?]

[Nope.]

But that isn't very nice.

[And Vincent is such a nice young man.]

They would deserve it.

[Ah, Grune, seeing the nice in everyone.]

[She shakes her head.]

That's not true. They're not being mean. They're only trying to have a little fun.

You think this amusing?

Well.... I don't think it's very nice for them to braid your hair if you don't want them to, but I'm sure they aren't being mean on purpose.

[She looks up at the still undeterred ghost.]

Isn't that right?

[Her response is still more laughter and a "Sure, lady, sure," which she accepts at face value. See, Vincent? They're nice ghosts after all!]

[Vincent sighs, hearing the ghosts' tone.]

They had better be finished with this behavior.

Oh, yes, I'm sure they are. Isn't that right?

[She turns to the ghost, which nods exaggeratedly. Totally trustworthy, right?]
