Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[Okay, so flying was a lot harder with so much traffic in the air, so Static comes for a landing and once against finds himself weirded out that there's more Bang here than in Dakota. His tiny wings makes him feel jarringly normal. Even if he's still walking around in a mask.

As he does so, he spots the convenience store. Well, he's never been in there before, so he pokes his head in.]

[And there is another guy with big wings in there. He's been sweeping and moving boxes in general for a while... and he turns to see- some guy in a mask? He tilts his head curiously, but gives a little wave after he sets down the box of potato chips on the ground. He'll stick some racks in here soon]

Nice mask, stranger.

[systemshock]

Thanks. I made it myself. [But Static takes note of Masaomi's wings with concern.] I gotta say, I'm surprised you're in here.

Eeeeh, why's that?

[He say it evenly. Not quite accusatory. More curious, really. He could ask "do you know me well enough to-" but that actually would sound confrontation, so it would be silly]

I just figured you'd be out there flying around with everyone else.

[It does seem to be the thing people with big wings are doing. This is fairly mundane for someone supposed to be turning insane.]

I'm sure I'll fly later and I flew a little already. But, really. Why not stock up here? [He says this as he foregoes standing still to reach down and get the chips, to start stocking the shelves] It's doing my friend a solid.

[systemshock]

So, normal stuff. I can dig. [He casually looks through the shelves to see what they even have here.] So whose your friend, Goober Pyle?

[generalflirt]

Shikamaru Nara, actually. But then, I'm really doing his friend a favor by making sure we've got more than enough chips for his stomach. [Which makes him smile in spite of himself.

On the shelves themselves he's stocking the potato chips - there's already a few different flavors there. But aside from that, there's all hell of soda in a fridge over there (they're working on a glass door or a better cooler) as well as a few flavors of ice cream. Some cookies, bugles, candy, and what you might expect at a not-as-yet-totally-stocked convenience store]

[Shikanara- Shikamarna- Shinaraka? Crap, he'll never remember that. Maybe it will never come up.]

Right. Uh, no offense, but why doesn't this friend just go to the grocery? I mean, it's only like a hundred extra feet.

You know, I agree it's not super logical, but he's that lazy and I guess we're both that bored.

[With a little sheepish smile. It's a conclusion her comes to in part because of Tsinku. Or well]

[systemshock]

Yeah, but isn't it more work to bring all that stuff here? That's a lot of work to be lazy.

[It... doesn't add up!]

Yeah, and why do you think I'm doing it? He bailed a day or two back.

[With another shrug. He likes being around the handful of electronics here and he's drawn to be in town. He doesn't mean doing minor labor like this, though he frowns as the notices something, well, irksome. It's not on the potato chips he's putting up now, but on some bugles next to them...

Well then, he's come across a few before now, courtesy of Anya, though he doesn't know it, and he sighs ad he goes to remove that]

[systemshock]

[Static hadn't noticed those before, but now... He happens to notice one under some candy bars and he frowns.]

I understand paying for convenience, but isn't this a little overboard?

[generalflirt]

Some woman came in here earlier and put them all on here, apparently. [He sighs. You know, he's reluctant to use her for something like this, but he decides to ask, at least. He pulls a golf-ball sized yellow thing out of his pocket, clicks the button on it to expand to baseball size, and then looks down at the pokeball to see if she's sleeping because it's a specialverse ball the top is canonically see through is...h up close for some... reason]

[systemshock]

[... okay, now Static's interest is piqued. That shape looks... sort of familiar. Kind of.]

... is that what I think it is?

Depends, what do you think it is?

[She's awake, good. He then holds out the ball for static to look at in all it's glory! A pokeball... which has had the top and bottom half both painted yellow by him personally.]

It looks like an extra tacky pokeball.

[Seriously, red and white is a classic. You don't mess with that.]
