Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[You know, the most technologically advanced thing in the village in the Battle Dome. Plus, he has some theories on things him and Linda can do with his newfound electrical powers - due to his Tsinku possession - and there's no better place to practice than in here. But when Masaomi shows up here, all the rooms are full. As he usually does when the rooms are full, he goes up to the viewing area to see what people are doing. None of them seem that interesting until- Mia's.

The water. The precise nature of the strikes. The clean efficiency of it all. It reminds him distinctly of his actual beloved (...) and some other ghost of a feeling wells in him too. A curious notion, really. Mia's always been cute to him, but if anything the damage she's doing down there pulls him in enough to want to watch her until she finishes from the viewing area, and go to meet her at the door to her room when it looks like she is]

[Since Logan has gone rogue and training sessions aren't happening, Mia expected nobody to be at the door. Almost colliding with Masaomi was not on her list of activities for the afternoon.]

Hello. I went over my specified time, my apologies. [It doesn't sound like much of an apology, unless you like your apologies coated in frost.]

[Normally, not really. But this time around, it does make him smile in spite of himself. It's way colder than Saki or Katara or Anri ever would be, but it does remind him of his first valentines in Luceti. In a good way. He's sure that and not the other presence he has in him is what makes it seem charming to him]

No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have stood so close to the door.

Then I suggest you remove yourself to a greater distance.

[Or she will do it for you.]

[He half bows and step two steps back to let her through.] Of course.

The room is free if you want to use it.

[One eyebrow lifts at the bow. She's used to him being solicitous to a mocking degree, but that almost seemed real.]

[And he stands complete now, smiling to her still] But where are you off to?

The house. I am expected for dinner. [Whether or not anyone is available to make it is another story.]

So I can't even keep you a moment longer, Mia?

[Presently she can think of no reasons he would want to talk to her. Part of her thinks it must be some medical concern but if that's true, he wouldn't be talking to her. He has made that clear in the past.]

Explain why.

[He tilts his head. She doesn't have the sort of logical reasons that he sensing she would enjoy hearing. Instead, he smiles genuinely before putting a hand on his heart]

Because I'd like to spend time with you, I'd say.

You will need to do better than that, I'm afraid.

And you're giving me a chance to? [His smile widens, if anything, and he rocks from one foot to the other before-] Saying "physical" here would be forced, so how about that we should try running a round together.

I have absolutely no idea what you just said. Speak clearly or not at all.

[He holds his two index fingers up and allows a spark of electricity to run between them]

Let's use the room together, just for a bit.

[Just what is he getting at, here?]

I am through with my practice for today. [Mia crosses her arms.] If you are implying any other use of that room, then I suggest you content yourself with going it alone.

Acha... that's almost harsh, Mia-chan. Not that I mind that, all things considered... [that second sentence is said much lighter, almost muttered. He sighs here, itching the back of his head, somewhat bemused]

You looked splendid during that practice, I just wouldn't mind bouncing off that, a little.

The program is there for you to use. Or, wait until tomorrow.

[For now she will be on her way past him and toward the door.]
