Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[While scampering between houses, he may pass by a scarred teen in worn jeans and a t-shirt, leaning against a wall and watching him curiously with his arms crossed.

Because seriously, who does that?]

You know, usually when I see kids knocking on doors it's because they're trying to sell something.

[He looks towards the older scarred guy. He looks kind of tough - like the kind of people he's been told to avoid. Maybe it was a bad idea to wander the streets like this. Aang rubs at his hair nervously, dressed in his own raggedy slacks and a t-shirt, as he looks towards him.]

But - I'm not selling anything! I swear! [And he ponders on the thought for a moment.] Do I have anything I could sell to someone...?

I know. That's what I'm saying.

[Clearly the kid simply suffers from mental deficiencies.]

I'm wondering why you're going around knocking on doors if you aren't selling anything. Are you from a church or something?

[savedtheworld]

[Good evening, are you ready to accept Avatar Aang as your lord and savior?]

No! Not that either. I'm just trying to, you know... look for someone!

[twodragons]

By seriously checking every house in town?

[Two raised brows for you, Aang. Or there would be, if he still had two.]

How do you know you haven't already found the right place and they just weren't home?

D-don't worry, I know! Whenever someone's not there, I just make sure to check at a later time. [He takes out his piece of paper to check, with a map that has a number of houses already crossed out. And reads in sloppy writing, "Mom Map".]

"Mom map?"

[He might not have had a formal education, but he can read that much.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[Aang doesn't exactly have one either - that handwriting is likely due to Fluttershy's lessons more than anything. He mumbles a response weakly.]

It means mom map...

I know what it says.

[Zuko rolls his eyes.] I mean why is it called that? Are you trying to tell me you're seriously looking for your mom by going door to door?

[savedtheworld]

[A beat. And then some quick nods.]

Do you know a better way?

[twodragons]

Do you know for certain that she's even still alive?

[Because if he thought his was...]

[savedtheworld]

[His eyes widen for a moment at the very concept of it. But he goes on.]

Be... because I believe. She's - she's gotta be.

[twodragons]

Just because you believe something doesn't mean it's true.

Have you tried asking around rather than knocking on doors? ...Do you even know her name?

[He opens his mouth to reply, but her frowns and asks back.]

Why do you ask so many sad questions?

[twodragons]

I'm just being realistic here.

[If that's "sad" then so be it.]

But it can be realistic for good things to happen. ...I mean, I found my sister and I didn't even remember that I had one!

[twodragons]

And you know for a fact that she's really your sister?

[savedtheworld]

Of course! What else would she be? A... a robot?

[twodragons]

Aren't there ways to tell for sure? Like having your blood tested or something?

Or did she just say she was related and you believed her?

[lasthairbender]

She didn't do anything to my blood. But she remembered me when I was little! And when she looked for me... she found me! She's a really good sister.

[twodragons]

...So basically she just told you and you believed her.

You are way too naive to be on the streets, kid.

[lasthairbender]

Nuh-uh! I'm really good at being on the streets, and she's sure that we're bonified family!

[twodragons]

Mmm-hm.

Whatever. You're family's none of my business.

Now turn around.

[savedtheworld]

W-what? Are you asking me to... leave? But - we should be friends! Or - or I could help you with your family!

[twodragons]

No, I'm telling you to actually turn around. Just stand there and put your back to me.
