Summary: Well. So sometimes the Malnosso actually do legitimate experiments that aren't heaped in heavy plot. This is one of those times. Look, just go read the mod post, would you?

[Should anyone be out and about, they might come across a little boy wandering around the village looking, well... lost. And kind of nervous, if not outright panicked! He might be running around, in fact. Possibly tripping too. Don't mind him if he bumps or trips into you, it happens!

In fact, there's a chance he might be right behind you, staring at you like he wants to say something but not actually speaking up. It's really scary approaching strangers, and more than once the boy finds himself trying to muster up the courage to actually say something.

Later on he can be found sitting by the fountain, looking fairly dejected. Not only was he stuck in a strange new world - with strange wings to boot - but his grandpa was nowhere to be found. That definitely didn't make him feel any better about things.]

[Faith sees the boy at one point and waits for a few moments before she decides that, no, he's not going to come over. So, she smiles at him and beckons with her hand.]

Would you like something to eat?

[She has stew! And meat pies!]

[Rudy stares at the woman for a brief moment, feeling a little apprehensive over this unfamiliar lady. On one hand, he doesn't know her. On the other hand, she doesn't seem like a bad person. And she's offering something to eat too! ... Did he really look that hungry, though?

It takes him a brief moment, but soon enough the boy approaches the woman.]

Um, I-- well, I'm...

[He's about to say, "I'm alright", until that line of thought abruptly gets cut off by an audible rumbling from his stomach, clearly answering the woman's question. Well, that certainly explains itself!]

There's plenty of food. [Even as she says it, she ladles a bowl of soup and puts a slice of the meat pie on a plate ten sets it down the table.]

A lot of people are confused about being here, so I figured I can at least offer a hot meal.

... Is it really okay?

[He still looks fairly apprehensive over this... although that stew does smell really good too. Still, was it really all right for him to just accept her offer like that? He had no gella on him, after all.]

I don't have anything to give you.

I don't need anything. [Though... that might not sit well with him. Sometimes it didn't.]

If you want to give me something, though-- how about you come back later tonight before it gets too dark and help me clean up?

[For a moment, he is indeed at a loss. It didn't feel right to accept something without giving or doing something in return. But when he hears the woman's offer he looks up, surprised.]

I can help? You don't mind?

Of course I don't mind. In fact, I'd be very grateful for the help later.

[Thankfully for this boy, his approach from behind gives Beast that old familiar feeling that he is being watched, causing him to swing around suddenly in search of the onlooker. Of course, it takes him a few seconds to look down and realise that onlooker is actually a lot smaller than he expected.

He'll just stare for a little longer. Does he know you, blue-haired child?]

A-Aah!

[Wow. ... He's big. And really scary looking! Enough to make the boy stumble backwards when the imposing stranger suddenly whips around, spotting him. What do, Rudy.

Evidently, nothing. Nothing but the boy staring back at Beast for a good while, until finally...]

... Hi...

[Yep.]

[A slight flinch at the reaction - no matter how many times he sees people do it, he will never really grow used to those screams. He is tempted to groan, or give a disappointed expression, but the stumbling distracts him enough to reach out and grip his arm gently to prevent a fall. And of course, he answers when he finally speaks.]

Heh, h-hello. ... Do... d-do I, know you?

[boyofhope]

[... Rudy didn't quite expect him to catch him like that, and so gently too. Even more unexpected is when Beast speaks... it doesn't sound intimidating at all. But he still practically towers over the boy. Hence why Rudy keeps his head down while speaking, dusting himself off.]

I... I don't think so. [The boy falls silent. What to do? ... Maybe he should explain why he was following him, for starters.] M-My name's Rudy. I... um, I'm looking for my grandfather...

[He reaches into his vest, taking out a picture. Carefully, he holds it out to Beast.]

[Oh no! She happened to see him trip, and without thinking she went right over to him.]

Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?

[...And fussed over him, apparently.]

I- I'm okay.

[Slowly, he picks himself up, letting a tiny "Oww..." escape from him as he dusts himself off. He really needed to watch where he was going.]

I don't think I'm hurt anywhere...

[Well, no more than a few scrapes and cuts on him, but those weren't too serious to fuss over, right?]

[Maybe it wasn't worth fussing over, but she wasn't too happy about those scrapes and cuts either.]

But you've got some scrapes on you... Make sure to put some bandages on those, okay?
