Summary: Well. So sometimes the Malnosso actually do legitimate experiments that aren't heaped in heavy plot. This is one of those times. Look, just go read the mod post, would you?

[That was a voice he had only heard once before-- the young man he had rescued (and had in turn rescued him) during that invasion. Although they barely knew eachother, Barnaby had the calm young man on his thoughts more than once. That young man-- Yu, if that truly was his name-- seemed like someone reliable.

He hoped.

Barnaby looked over when he heard the voice, concerned by the question that was uttered in a tone of disbelief.]

...Yu?

[Please oh please say that you remembered his face. That you remembered that Izanagi.]

[What was with people he didn't know recognizing him? Yu glanced at the stranger, not really sure if he was supposed to know him or not. He looked like the kind of guy that he might have associated with briefly, maybe in one of his previous schools, but definitely not from his current school in Tokyo.]

Yes?

[...wait, this wasn't some kind of punk was it? He hadn't done anything wrong, other than end up in a place that he didn't recognize. He had no reason to get the hell beat out of him... right?]

[The curls, the glasses, and the fashionably fitted cut of his clothes painted him as more of a yuppie than a punk. Never would he ever consider mugging anyone out in the street, including a lineface bowlcut who had saved his life a month ago. Barnaby shifted his weight and regarded Yu more fully, this time with a more attentive eye.]

Don't tell me. You don't know anything about this place, do you?

[You couldn't blaim him for assuming the worst first. Suddenly waking up in a room that might have been yours but wasn't was jarring for anyone.]

[Case and point, Yu just gave a faint nod in response to the man's question, privately bracing himself for the worst.]

[Barnaby sighed. Out of all of the people he had hoped to find...]

I see. [A beat. Yu was a calm, compassionate person as he recalled. A little dorky, but that was part of his charm. That is, if the memories from that incident were anything to rely upon.

He glanced away, tossing his thick curls out of his face in a show of frustration.]

It looks like we have no choice.

[He was immediately on edge despite the lack of expression, ready to bolt if this weirdo tried to grab for him.]

[There was no need to bolt. It was just time for Barnaby to get a little serious.]

Tell me something. What exactly is Izanagi?

[…what? That wasn't a question he was expecting. He gave the stranger a curious look, trying to figure out what he was getting at.]

That's a… god, isn't it? In Shinto?

[Barnaby just watched him, distantly assessing the details.]
