[Kari can't exactly get too preachy -- she didn't have any real friends until the whole magical girl thing started. But she hadn't wanted them, and happily spent most of her time alone.]

[Even if he's not showing it on the surface at all, she can't exactly forget the face he was making when he spoke so sadly about losing his friends here... but which side of him was real? Was that as honest as she'll ever get to see him?]

[But she knows she won't get anywhere trying to rehash all that again. So she just stores it in the back of her mind for later. For now, she just shrugs her shoulders.]

What, didn't you get a look at the journals? Clearly there's something up for people who get the most kisses, if those tallies are anything to go by. And I'm not about to risk losing out on something awesome.

[She quickly turns around and crouches down, gathering up a ball of snow in her hand and tossing it high up into the air... and then in one swift motion, she materializes her sword and slices through it with a bright flash. The snowball melts instantly from the heat of the blade and forms a puddle on the ground.]

[She doesn't even turn around as she waves a hand back at him, starting to walk off.]

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my neck is considerably more sturdy than a snowball.

[That again? Kari just rolls her eyes and shakes her head. Aaand walking away again, but not before turning and yelling:]

Better watch your back, Pretty-boy! If this happens again I'm kicking your ass!

[And for once, she's only half serious.]

[ Well with a challenge like that, how is Joshua to refuse?

A second later, he's floating right next to Kari and immediately leans in to place a quick kiss on her cheek. The moment skin touches skin he vanishes, not just from her side but from the area entirely.

As amusing as it would be, he doesn't want a fight right this moment. ]

[It's a good thing Josh vanished so quickly. Or rather, a good thing her sword can't cut flesh without her concentrating, because her first instinct is to swing her sword in his direction.]

[But. He's gone.]

[Yeah, now she's mad.]

[She doesn't know how far he's gone too, but just in case:]

You slimy good-for-nothing weasel!! Next time I see you, you're gonna wish we were friends, because I'm gonna cut your dick off!!
