[Loki will be going about the village, business as usual--at least at first. So expect to find him at the stable, the library, the Battledome, or perhaps near the item shop. But Loki quickly realizes it's That Time Of Year Again, so after that he could be anywhere, just hanging about for the amusement value of making other people feel horribly awkward, or being a jerk and refusing to help them get out from the mistletoe ensnarement, or observing them be horribly awkward with others. He also might even be running some errands for Rogue, since she understandably doesn't find this as amusing as he does.

Because you know. It's always funny so long as it's happening to someone else. But even he can't avoid the mistletoe all the time. Even so, don't expect him to be tearing down the mistletoe, since it's a good bet everyone else is way more uncomfortable about this than he is. Though he might make exceptions if there's someone around he considers it beneath his dignity to kiss. ]

December 26

[ This holiday is bullshit.

Gintoki had decided that rather early, from the moment Kagura decided to wake him up with her stupid festive eggs on green rice. More like eggs on puke-colored rice, and who the hell thinks it's a good idea to ask for presents after being a terrible kid to Gin-san from the moment they arrived here, hahh? Add in the fact that Gintoki's been deprived of television and JUMP, and we have a wonderful combination of the grumpiest Grinch this side of panfandom doujinshi.

(Which clearly, this is. Either that, or it's a fanfiction. Gintoki still hasn't made up his mind about it.)

He sighs, running a hand through tangled hair as he pushes his way into the Battle Dome, which he thought sounded interesting and wanted to explore. ]

Thor

[26th - 28th]

[For the first few days Thor goes about his business as usual, in somewhat dimmer spirits since Jane's disappearance. But perhaps, much like his brother, after a week she might return! As such he keeps the apartment she chose tidy and lingers there, occasionally adding another note, book, or knickknack from the item store he thinks she might find pleasing. Mornings are spent in the Battle Dome, evenings in the library. As he has still his shameful actions to make recompense for he spends many afternoons in the item shoppe, tending to the shelves and frowning at the mistletoe as it appears. It does not click until the end of the second day what it is, and how it seems to effect himself and those around him and even then, he manages to take it in stride.

Until the twenty eighth. His mood is dour, his manner curt if civil, and his frustrations writ across his stern countenance. There is no holiday smile to be found here.]

[29th - 1st]

[By the dawn of the twenty ninth, he has had it with this nefarious plant and all it's magic. Thor is without smiles or good cheer for any that happen across him. He is a man at war. It's no trick he knows how to break and for the first time since he's given his word to mind the shoppe, he isn't found in the plaza unless he is in dire need of supplies. Considering the appetite of the Asgardian and his living companions- it is sadly often that he ventures out for food. When he comes across some of that hanging herb- he wrests it from it's perch and crushes it in his fist. For every sprig he finds, he tears down without being caught up in it's spell. Or at the very least, he attempts to reach it and do so without being ensorcelled.]

December 27, final hour

[ What the hell is going on in this place, hah? Gin-san's really not liking all the weird mistletoe shit that keeps happening, and it doesn't seem like he's been really capable of destroying the thing before he ends up kissing someone or being kissed or having some other crazy shit happen. This is the worst fucking holiday season, ever. It's even worse than the time he was somehow coerced into helping Santa deliver presents that one year, only to get absolutely jack shit out of it.

This must be some sort of really weird story arc going on in this panfandom doujinshi. Clearly, that must be the case.

Those perverted fans think of all sorts of nasty shit around the holidays, probably because they're too busy being otaku shut-ins to go out and actually get some, so they have to write up some dumb shit about Gin-san in very compromising situations.

Gin-san's unamused. Very, very unamused.

He stops in front of the library for a moment, and sighs, then pushes the door open and trudges in. Maybe he can find a copy of JUMP if he's lucky, and hide in the stacks where no one can find him. ]

Haruka

[Haruka doesn't have terribly many haunts, but he's always regular about them. He can be found in the Flame building, the grocery store, the Battle Dome, or the paths between any of these locations. And while he couldn't care less about mistletoe traditions, frankly Haruka would rather kiss mackerel than whoever he gets stuck under the mistletoe with.

And while he'll definitely be avoiding the mistletoe once he finds out what it does, he won't be tearing them down or changing his daily routine any time soon; as annoying as the entire affair is, he doesn't care enough to actually make more than nominal evasive efforts.]

[It's December 26th, nearing the afternoon, and Marco has yet to realize that a Shift's taken over the village. His morning was just like any other, after all, and nothing of interest was being talked about on the journal network. It isn't until close to lunchtime when he finally leaves the apartment, wandering towards the shared kitchen of the Flame Building's second floor. He doesn't notice the mistletoe hanging in the doorway until he's passed right under it and something compels him to stop in his tracks.

...What's that weird plant hanging above his head?]

Rock Lee

[Rock Lee was left somewhat concerned in the aftermath of Christmas. Sure, he and Naruto had delivered gifts to the village under the guise of Santa Claus, but unlike last year, there was no seen of the real Santa during this holiday. Rock Lee's competition was completely absent - so he couldn't help but feel concerned for him.

Still, he goes about the days normally. Frequenting areas such as Seventh Heaven, where he waits on people, as well as the Battle Dome, where he trains. Really, he can be found anywhere in the village, as his high-speed jogging routes cover pretty much the entire area plus portions of the forest throughout the week. And yes, he will run into mistletoe quite frequently. When you find him there, he may be trying as hard as he can to resist and try to 'break through' this invisible barrier without yet noticing the mistletoe. Or, he's already noticed the mistletoe and is looking up to it with dread.]

[ooc: I'm open to pretty much any effect with him! Except that with Narcolepsy, him being the one sleeping would most likely detract from the entertainment.]

[Usually you don't move around much in an elevator, so it takes Sakura a moment to notice the seemingly innocent little sprig hanging over their heads. But as the doors slide closed to take her and Lee up to their floor, she glances up and groans.]

Aang

[This year, Aang had distributed some Christmas gifts to a large number of his friends (okay it's incomplete but it can be assumed basically all CR received something sentimental), and now that Christmas was over, he spent most of his time at the bakery, still making some more festive treats for his friends. It was how he dealt with losing people like Sokka and Korra; by doing more for the friends he still had and finding comfort in those bonds.

Except it turns out that the teenage monk had gone this long in Luceti without learning about one of the things to avoid: the mistletoe. Aang can be found stopped by it in a number of place: the bakery (could one be hidden in a cookie?!), the Welcome Center, the plaza, the forest... He even finds himself stuck in the doorway of House 56 when a piece of mistletoe ends up hanging right there. There may even be one lodged in the nose of the Sokka head statue. Also, Aang has had the pool behind House 56 frozen over for some ice-skating practice; but one might find a mistletoe even frozen beneath the ice there...]

[ooc: Aang is good for pretty much anything except Passion. Well actually, I am kind of feeling iffy about anger too, but that can be considered on a case-by-case basis.]

Elizabeth was still getting used to this place, sadly there were no coins to make a proper offering to the spirit of the fountains to, but she found a curious statue that was of a face that she believed was here but ascended to another plane (she still hasn't gotten the whole going home thing yet). Still it was probably best to offer sacrifices to local heroes and gods than it was to ignore them, so she was laying an offering of freshly steamed tofu and vegetables at the feet of the shrine to this local god (Or to anyone else's recognition the statue of Sokka) not noticing at all that she was standing under the nose mistletoe there.

Grune - All days!

[Grune has had a very good Christmas! But then again, she always does. She's delivered her presents which mun needs to come up with when she isn't quite so exhausted but all Grune's CR can assume they got something, and now she's enjoying going about her daily routine.

She doesn't notice the mistletoe for a good long time, but when she does, she's absolutely delighted by that cute little plant! Even if she learned of its effects, it wouldn't dim her enthusiasm in the slightest. It's such a sweet little...parasite....

Places Grune can be found are the (mostly dormant) Memory Garden, the flower shop, most locations in town, the less snowy parts of the woods, House 34...pretty well everywhere, really.]

[Rue's curious about the plot of land and the brightly colored mural by the Welcome Center. She's been around plants long enough to know it's a garden and that there's one here it so very nice.

As she walks through the dormant garden, carefully pulling some weeds here and there, she'll come across Grune. Rue's never seen anyone with such brightly colored hair outside of Capitol citizens, nor anyone so beautiful. Shyly, she'll move closer to see what Grune's doing.]

[ Masaomi is out and about on the town and/or working these days like always. Linda is on his shoulder all of these days and he is working at the Convenience Store training at the Dome in his own Flame Building, all over the Square doing all sorts of things... And then once he notices the mistletoe and especially after he notices the tick marks in the journal and connects what they are for... then he decides to make a contest of it (with Gold and later with Shikamaru) and is actually seeking chances (subtly) to get stuck on it with me.

[A training session at the Battle Dome is the perfect way to unwind from the annoyance of the minor experiment. Ginia can be found at the main console looking through the preset scenarios for something that looks interesting and challenging.]

[ Haruhi . . . is counting down to the near the new years, resolving to do much more and much better with the Brigade after that. Because it definitely has not been a great year on the whole. Which pisses her off a little, but she's matured enough to not be petty about it. Just a little melancholy. Which is probably why she wears her long hair in a ponytail all of this days after her Christmas and delivering the anthologies that day. You can find her at a number of the places in the Square, her own House 10 and of course the SOS-Brigade's HQ (which is also in the Square but bares special mention).

Also she's heading to the hot springs at some point in all this, possibly inviting a friend or two.

Open to all effects, but she's not avoiding or seeking them. She's just being obstinate in trying to ignore them ]

[If Haruhi is passing by the item shop, she might run into a rather comical sight outside of it-- Fayt, jumping up and down, trying to grab mistletoe that seems to be floating midair. Every time he makes a leap, the mistletoe seems to hover just a few inches higher than his surprisingly high jumps can take him.

Until he can remove it or shake it's effects, he's stuck in that spot.]

[ Kakashi spends most of December 26 being foiled over and over by mistletoe, as it usually will appear far too high for him to notice. You can find him walking around Luceti in the beginning of the day, but towards the end of the day he's more or less hiding in Flame Building. ]

December 27- January 1

[ Kakashi spends the rest of the time dodging as much mistletoe as he can. If you can catch him under it long enough, maybe something interesting might happen... He'll be at his apartment most of the time, but he might sneak out for coffee and also to the Battle Dome.]

[This is Jean's first Christmas in Luceti...actually, his first Christmas ever. The holiday and its affiliated religion are among the many facets of life before the walls that have long since been washed away from public memory back home. While he's heard a little bit about Christmas here and there over the past few weeks, the month has been low-key enough that he's not expecting the Malnosso's trademark celebratory mischief.

[Hikaru is out and about, as can be expected. Well fed, too -- plenty of leftovers from the numerous dinner offers he and Kaoru managed to scrounge up the day before. They got enough, really, to keep them eating well-made food without going out for a week.

It's late in the afternoon, as he's leaving a shop with a new bolt of fabric under one arm, that he sees the co-founder of the fashion club here. He gives a slight wave.]

[Unfortunately... yeah. That's mistletoe hanging above them on the awning of the shop. Though Hikaru doesn't yet know that's the cause of his mischievous little smile.]

[Hikaru discovers the mistletoe itself fairly early, but, silly him, he just expects it be traditional. Sure, the first time he gets caught under it, it's no surprise he can't get away until there's a kiss. That seems like totally the sort of thing this place would do.

If he were alone, he might just hide in his room and wait for it to be over. But... Kaoru's been here long enough for him to pretend to be social again. He's even out on his own at times!

He can be found at the Item Shop, Clothing Shop (being way too picky as usual), Seventh Heaven, the Grocery Store, All Passions, Celsius Tear, and other assorted places around the village. Sometimes he's with Kaoru, sometimes he's alone.

...And they may or may not have noticed the boards on their door and turned this into a competition.]

[The sprigs of mistletoe scattered about the enclosure are a familiar sight, something Isaac first associates with Malnosso sorcery of the last year and then with the legend of Baldur’s death. And he smiles.

He has no qualms with the curious tradition of stealing kisses - well, from most people, at least - and the certainty that few if any would like to be on the receiving end of his fuels his mischievous intent. Making someone squirm is the sort of gratifying amusement that never wears on him. So beware the mistletoes dangling in woods, the grocery store, the library, or the item shop, because a certain Forgemaster may be closer than one may think and all too happy to free one from their terrible curse in an act of selfless heroism.

[He's spent the last two days on a drinking bender, so that morning he's nursing one hell of a hangover with some fresh air and peppermint candy canes. And since there's such a thing as the sun, which happens to be far too bright for his liking, he's definitely not searching for magical mistletoe. But he can be found, with manly stubble and messy hair, pointlessly roaming the streets pretty much anywhere.]

Dec. 27th-Jan. 1st

[He never understood the appeal of mistletoe or why the hell kissing is associated with a poisonous plant that can cause diarrhea, but he does know that he hates it.

He's clean-shaven now, hair back to its normal controlled state, looking the way a respectable doctor should again. And he's definitely trying to watch the sky above him, necessary paths turning into long curves so he can stay the hell out of the mistletoe's pull. But that doesn't stop him from getting caught by surprise here and there.]

Upon discovering all of the decorations that she's never seen, she can't help but go around and look at all of them. Even the mistletoe, since she has no idea what that even is. So it isn't hard at all to find her under it.

After that she can be found in the bakery, because sweets, the forest, and if she's bored enough, in the library. She has gotten a little annoyed with all of the cold and the snow. It's fun for a while, but warm weather still makes her happier.

[It doesn't take Robert long to realize what's going on, no. Seeing the mistletoe is a bit confusing at first, but it's not surprising once he realizes it's rather insistent on being obeyed.

His patterns don't change. He spends a lot of time at home, occassionally visiting the grocery store, item store, and library. He can be found, also, at any path between two of the spots.]

[More often than not, it's Rosalind's habit to accompany Robert - and thus it should be no surprise when the first time they become caught under the mistletoe she is the one with whom he is entrapped. The fact that they both pause under an eave in the village square, of one accord, is not so strange.

What is unusual, however, is the apparently unbidden flush of warmth and pressure that blooms in her chest as they hesitate, shoulder to shoulder, flurries gusting about their feet. There's no apparent trigger for it, not even a thought, and it lends a surreality to to the magnetic pull to lean closer, to lean her head against Robert's shoulder and watch the play of light on icicles and snowflakes.

It seems like a natural place to linger, after a moment. It is beautiful, a perfect geometrical order in the apparent chaos of glinting light and dancing motes of ice.]

Mm. [She does not look up at him, not quite yet, though her hand curls silently into the angle of his elbow.] It has its moments, doesn't it.

Effie was spending a lot of Christmas and days afterward simply wandering around town in confusion. What WAS this gift-giving holiday that everyone seemed so fond of? She has no notion of mistletoe or any traditions like that.

And when she gets stuck under any of it, she's going to be rather petrified but TRYING to remain cool and collected. Pretend nothing's wrong. Hope the Malnosso let her go. Act casual.

Day 2

Jade Curtiss is a man with a quest: the utter destruction of all the mistletoe in Luceti. It may have been amusing for others to watch others' misfortunes, but Jade had to realize the hard way how susceptible he himself was to its call.

He had managed to spot another mistletoe hanging seemingly in midair within the plaza, and he was ready to destroy it via a fonic arte... but then he saw Miss Trinkett walk under it. He started to call her name, but it was too late.

Thus, he opted to sigh and paced towards the perimeter of the misteltoe's influence, weighing his options.

Elizabeth (ver. BioShock), All the Days

The past two days have gone by in a giggly, pleasant haze for Elizabeth. She's going about her business in the village of course, getting excited about the New Year. The Christmas Eve dinner had gone so well (for more reasons than just no one shooting at one another), that she can hardly contain herself for whatever they're going to do for New Year's Eve. At the very least, she knows who she's going to kiss at midnight: her fiance.

Elizabeth can't stop looking at her engagement ring. Every time she looks at it she has a little screeching moment of glee and then goes back to what she was doing. She goes to her usual haunts, the grocery store, the library, and she's visiting the clothing shop a bit more now. Just to change her wardrobe up a bit more.

I had to!

Please. Please. I'm begging you. Don't take that off the hanger. It's an insult, really.

[Because sometimes Hikaru has to visit the clothing shop and prevent disasters from occurring. Like the very cute girl about to pick up a heinous dress.

[Jade was somewhat familiar with the mistletoe from his studies. However, nothing could be as educational as firsthand experience. His guard was down, since he suspected that any mischief on the Malnosso's part would have preceded Christmas. And then he found himself unable to move on the way path from House 1 towards the plaza. Sure enough, a mistletoe was dangling from a snow-covered tree overhead. Who would be the first person to find him here? That's for whoever wants to be that person to decide.

For the rest of the week, Jade mostly engages in a campaign to wipe out all the mistletoe in the enclosure. One can find him using a wide variety of fonic artes to wipe out the plants. However, some are cleverly hidden enough that Jade still might get caught in them - at any part of the village. He most usually frequents the library, the Welcome Center's tea shop or the Battle Dome, but his investigation will have him check throughout the village. Alternatively, Jade can find others already trapped in a mistletoe. Time for him to wonder if it's worth stepping in and trading another piece of his dignity for your freedom from the spell.

On the second night, he hazards a visit to Good Spirits for some drinks. An anger-inducing mistletoe is hidden under the counter. God help whoever meets him at this one.]

[Ion is no stranger to the effects of mistletoe, but that doesn't mean he's expecting it this time around. Christmas is over, after all! Surely that would have been the end of it, right?]

[Which is why the sight of Jade just standing in the middle of the road doesn't set off any warning bells -- he just walks right up to him with a smile.]

[With no clue what mistletoe is and no familiarity with holiday decorations, Rue goes about her days gaping at the festive decorations between her usual routine. The first time she gets caught under mistletoe will be a shock, but after that she sees it as harmless festive fun.

Find her in the convenience store, grocery store, library, bakery or climbing trees around the village on any day.]

He'd been camping out at various hotspots, staking out who's around and making plans when to strike. And as Rue enters the bakery, now seems as good of a time as any to approach, a spriggy green leaf hanging above the doorway.]

[Mistletoe and decorations. It's not as bad as things could be, Ginia supposes as she goes about her usual routine. While she does her best to avoid them, the clever placing means even sometimes the best of hunters get caught in traps. So she'll handle everything with calm acceptance and not let the experiment get too under her skin. If she spots anyone trapped and in need of help, she's willing to provide a kiss on the head to free them.

She can be found in the village square in any of the shops, training in the Battle Dome, or on any path leading to Wind Community house or there inside.]

[Well, Anko's certainly stuck. She's sitting in the tea house at one of the tables, scowling up at a certain spring of green with an unhappy expression. It looks like she's been here a while, as evidenced by the way she's shifting and fidgeting. Tea and being stuck in one place? Unfortunate when you need to use the toilet.

[Unfortunately, she had forgotten what those strange plants were all about, so she was going along with her day as normal. Well, mostly normal. It was kind of hard to not notice that there was a lot more people going around kissing others... Wait, did that person just fall asleep in the middle of the street? Weird.

After spending a dangerous amount of time by the fountain, she decided that this was something she wanted no part of. Nothing could distract her from her training at the Battledome or her trip to Celsius Tear, but once that was done she decided to make a tactical retreat to the hot springs via the rec centre log cabin's teleporter.

Sooner or later she would come back to the Wind Building, having noticed the tally, but...well, she was too embarrassed to actually go for it.]

[She could be found basically anywhere, considering that she wasn't staying in one place too long on purpose. The Battledome and Celsius Tear would be her favourite haunts, although more often then not she would be wandering about where there weren't many people around.]

[Karla doesn't have a clue about Christmas. She has even less of a clue about mistletoe, so she doesn't even see them, particularly the one that seems to be hanging in midair. As she walks across the plaza, she stops, drowsiness quickly taking over her. She tries to keep walking, but her body decides otherwise, as she drops right on the spot in a peaceful slumber. She doesn't seem intent on waking up anytime soon either.]
