[It's a day where Albert is preoccupied taking care of his giant owl in the mountains, so it's not until towards evening, when he realizes Raine is not in, that he goes looking for him. He frowns faintly as he approaches the stables, not seeing anything amiss from the outside -- but that's quick to change when he enters the building proper and sees Raine against Noishe's pen.]

Raine?

[He approaches carefully, looking around for signs of intruders or something else. While he is aware there's the possibility this is tied to the current experiment, he doesn't immediately see any mistletoe.]

[Raine doesn't respond to his approach. The position she's in doesn't appear to be a comfortable one either, though she's asleep peacefully, slumped by the frame of the door.

Most of the offending plant had already been cleared from the stable, but the hidden mistletoe that caused the incident is high up on the other side of the pen door opening.]

[He frowns and checks her over, removing a glove to check for a pulse; even if she had managed to get into the stables before succumbing to the mistletoe's effects, the fact remained that it was cold out and he had no idea how long she had been out there. Once he's assured that she is in fact in decent condition (for at least the moment), he cranes his head upward to look for the mistletoe.

It takes a few minutes, and he shakes his head before crouching over her. He wasn't going to risk lighting something else on fire in the process of destroying the mistletoe, so he opted for the direct route in this case.

He brushes some stray hairs away from her forehead and kisses her lightly above one brow.]

[It's a sweet, touching gesture.

Of course, the prince didn't wake sleeping beauty by kissing her forehead, either... so there are no telltale signs of her waking.]

...Stubborn, hn?

[Albert frowns and pulls away from Raine enough to frown up at the mistletoe, then pulls his journal out to check the tally. He has a few negative strikes against him as it for getting rid of mistletoe, and he has no interest in making that worse considering they did not know what the scores actually would lead to.

So, with a sigh, he puts away the journal and kisses Raine -- this time, on the lips.]

[Waking up to the feeling of lips pressed against hers is actually - well, somewhat creepy, at first, though the effect is about as magical as can be expected. A rush of warmth, and then she's kissing back, and then the darkness lifts, as Raine mentally tries to scramble to her senses. Was that part of the dream?

She blinks, and the face in front of hers comes more into focus, though for a moment, she's without words.]

[He gives Raine a wry look when he sees her eyes open, leaning away and adjusting how he's crouching as his cold limbs begin to complain.]

...Welcome back to the land of the conscious.

[wise_maiden]

[And then reality tumbles back in, much like the cool drafty air.]

... And we had been so careful, too.

Indeed.

[He glances upward again, as if that would help him see the offending mistletoe from his current angle, before returning his attention to Raine.]

How do you feel? I'm not sure how long you have been out here in the cold.

[wise_maiden]

Cold. A little sore. [She sits up a little better.] ... At least I'm not as groggy. That seems to be fading.

[chikaidestroyer]

[Assured that Raine can at least move, Albert reaches into his pocket to pull out his watch, sliding the little cover open.]

It's almost eight.

[wise_maiden]

Eight? [She frowns, as her eyes adjust better to the dimness.] It was before sunset when I stopped by. Around four...

[chikaidestroyer]

So you've been out that entire time. [He sighs, pushing himself up to his feet before offering his free hand to her.]

I take it you were affected before you could do whatever you had intended to do here?

[wise_maiden]

Yes... I stopped by to visit with them, and I was going to let them wander around the pen to stretch their legs. The plant must be high up on the other side.

[chikaidestroyer]

We'll still have to get rid of it.

[He clicks his pocket watch shut and returns it to where it had previously been, stepping back towards the door so he can look up at the rafters.]

[wise_maiden]

[As he stands, Raine begins the process to pull herself to a standing position, though the stiffness from her position is still affecting her progress.]

It must be up high on the other side... maybe some wind magic could be used to dislodge it.

I would feel better about it if it was actually visible.

[He sighs a bit. They didn't really have a choice in this matter. He concentrates just enough to summon Kipinn's wind, a concentrated gust going through the rafters.

Unfortunately, the initial effort only proves to knock down the remnants of an old bird nest.]

[It also brings a chill with it and Raine shivers. Good thing she has on a sturdier coat for the season.] That didn't seem to work as well as I'd hoped... it must be stuck, wherever it is.
