Timey-Wimey Nonsense Part 1
Who: Everyone!
What: The Time Travel Trip 2014
When: HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO
Where: Luceti before it wascool Luceti
Summary: The residents are dragged into the past thanks to John's latest Shift. More information is here and here, and, ICly, here.
Rating: Varied
It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.
And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.
At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.
Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.
...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.
((mingle and explore at will! further questions can be redirected to either of the posts linked above. NPCs will be available for plotty stuff soon.))

[Simon hadn't taken John's warning entirely seriously. Even after having experienced a Shift first-hand, he still couldn't accept the notion that they'd be sent back in time. He couldn't quite believe that such a thing was possible until he'd seen it with his own eyes. Evidence is everything.
Well, they certainly are somewhere, now. Forest. They'd been warned to bring only essentials, so despite his doubts, Simon had made sure that Taka would stay close to him. There's nothing in Luceti he prizes more than his trusted hawk, though he's equally thankful for the clothes on his back and the katana strapped around his waist. If they truly are in the past... Well, it'll certainly be another interesting experience.]
[Settling in]
[With the success of the Shift confirmed, the time has come for settling in. There's no telling just how long they could be stuck here. The Red Devil had conveniently neglected to mention concrete details on that sort of thing. Simon supposes that from what he's seen of the 'village of the past' so far, it won't be too troublesome for him either way. Luceti had already been a technological downgrade from his own world. To go down a step further won't bother him so long as there's food to eat and shelter from the cold.
He'd been staying in a community building before and it seems only logical for him not to change that. The second floor of the building that's already finished has a suitable apartment for the taking and he gets started on settling in at once. Naturally, with so many newcomers, supplies will run dry quite fast, but Simon hopes to beat people to the punch when it comes to necessities like food and spare clothes.]

While improving the land would be helpful for future endeavors, one couldn't completely dismiss the human element.
In any case, he leaves his apartment with his coat draped over one shoulder, not yet feeling the need for its familiar weight on his shoulders. He nods at his neighbor when he notices him also out.]
Just moved in?
[He keeps his tone light and wry, in case the other man happens to be someone from this time period.]
no subject
He was just stepping into the hallway when he notices his neighbor is out as well. Has he seen this guy roaming the present time village? It's certainly possible. He won't be blurting out any assumptions either way. Who knows who might be listening? The most he can do is drop a subtle hint.]
Indeed I have. It would seem that there is much to be done before this place can be deemed a suitable home.
[He waits a moment longer, his hand still on the handle of the front door, which is left wide open. That may seem like odd behavior, but it explains itself when Taka follows Simon out the apartment and into the hall. There's a brief flurry of talon and wings as the hawk settles himself on Simon's shoulder. With his feathery companion present, he finally closes the door behind himself.]
no subject
He hadn't even thought about the possibility of bringing animal companions along. Why add additional risks to what already had to be a risky procedure?]
I've just arrived as well. [He might as well be blatantly obvious in that regard. Now he gives the bandana-wearing hawk a nod.] A friend of yours?
[Not all animal companions earned themselves little accessories.]
no subject
This is Taka. He's been my trusty cohort for many a year now.
[The hawk doesn't entirely seem to realize he's become the topic of a conversation. Taka tilts his head, his eyes swerving along the hall in a distracted manner. Still, when Simon raises a hand to pet him, he leans into it as if he were a dog.]
no subject
'Ey, mister! 'xcuse me!
no subject
... Yes?
no subject
[ That's "Romeaus" ]
no subject
No. I have never heard of this... Relares you speak of.
no subject
I mean "Romayus," actually.
no subject
Alas, that is just as unfamiliar to me. Is this Romayus you seek a resident of the village?
no subject
[ Yes. Yeah, he would be, given John told him to look for him . . . ]
no subject
[Does this kid himself even know what he's looking for?]

Wild Card
NO!
[There's an innocent, hurt-looking bird caught in a hunter's trap on the ground. And Lee is leaning over it, putting his strength into prying the trap open.]
OMG WHY
...Oh. Is that...? It is.
Simon doesn't give the kid next to the trap so much as a second glance. All his attention is on that poor, defenseless bird. He drops himself to his knees beside the trap, both hands reaching for the horrid clamp of death.]
Careful, you fool- Careful.
[It's a good thing he didn't bring Taka along, or the hawk might get some bright ideas about snatching up a bird that's already injured as soon as the possibility presents itself.]
no subject
I am trying! Please help me save this innocent creature!
[The bird gives some hurt chirps.]
no subject
Brute force will be necessary in order to dismantle this contraption. Are you prepared for that?
no subject
I have prepared all my life... to use brute force!
no subject
On the count of three, we pull the trap apart. Brace yourself. One, two...
no subject
no subject
[Sure enough, Simon puts his full force into ripping those clamps in half. Mere prosecutor or not, this is a guy who can break a metal chain just by slamming his manacles onto his desk. With Ace Attorney logic like that and a passionate ninja kid by his side, surely that trap doesn't stand a ghost of a chance.]

Stay strong, small one!

Hmph... I don't suppose you would have mastered this supposed healing magic?
