Who: Uruki
the_wind_woman and Takiko
waterfallchild
What: A date
When: Monday, around lunchtime, definitely before Tomite's intro post.
Where: The western lake
Summary: The happy couple needs some time alone to talk and...stuff.
Rating: PG, these two aren't quite up to higher ratings yet.
True, Hikitsu arriving had been a great thing, but he did miss the fact that he pretty much had Takiko to himself (well, annoying now former housemate aside). It was still a bit strange to him to be around her and that they weren't being attacked by armies and assassins. Truly, he'd gone a whole month without some serious injury, that in and of itself was a feat. Still, it wasn't perfect here, but he was definitely going to do what he could to ensure she fell in love with him again.
So he realized, some time alone with little to no chance for interruptions, or chances for anyone to get hurt would do them a lot of good. And he wanted to surprise her, and he wanted to pick a place that just felt right.
He'd made the arrangements for them to have a nice romantic meal out by the lake, that would be a perfect setting. So first he set things up for a nice romantic picnic. He got some food from the restaurant, since his cooking would give away his plans right away. He also picked up a few things from the bakery, and of course set out a blanket for them.
Once things were ready, he went back to the house to find Takiko. He just hoped no one disturbed his preparations while he was bringing her here.

It couldn't be helped. Lately, she'd come to realize that now as in the future, they were more than simply friends, or a priestess and her protector. her heart fluttered in her chest, and she smiled up at him. "Did you enjoy your walk?" she asked innocently, not at all aware of what he'd planned for them.

He held out his hand to her so he could easily lead the way. "Leave your journal here. I want your voice to be the only one I hear while I show you this."
His own journal had already been left in his room. He'd also spoken with Hikitsu in advance to ensure the man wouldn't be concerned when Takiko and him vanished for a time.

As luck had it, her journal was in her room. She really hadn't felt like hearing other voices today, as it was. "Already in my room. I wanted some quiet today." she admitted, and moved closer until she was leaning against him lightly.
"I want to see what you have to show me."

He wasn't surprised by her wanting some quiet, the journals at times could be annoying. It wasn't too much to ask for some peace and quiet for a few hours, anything that happened could be dealt with later.
He kept her close to him, but started walking towards the lake still holding her hand.

Annoying and honestly, something she didn't want to deal with what with being kidnapped, and Demyx and her birthday. For the life of her, she couldn't remember if she'd even told him about it.
Her hand squeezed his, as she kept in step with them as they walked toward the lake.

And then finally they reached the lake after some time, it wasn't exactly a short walk after all. He was relieved to see nothing had been touched. The blanket was still laid out for them, the food in a basket ready for them. He picked a nice spot near the lake, but also in the shade of a tree.
It was perfect, so far at least. He had to admit, alone time with her didn't always end well.
"This was what I wanted you to see."

"This is.. wonderful! Thank you." Takiko's arms went around him, tugging him close. She smiled against his chest, truly happy. An unexpected but truly pleasant surprise. And of course, there was a tint of rose to her cheeks, because she was able to tell when an outing was meant for a couple rather than friends.
After awhile she let go, and sat down cross-legged upon the blanket. The food smelt very good, and she really was hungry. True to her manners though, she wouldn't touch a thing until he sat down, and began serving himself, too.

Still, once she sat down, he did also. He was just as hungry, and he had to smell all the food as he brought it here "You're welcome. I just thought we both could use some peace and quiet after all that has happened."
And yes, he's actually blushing a bit too. He never did anything like this before. He nervously takes some food out of the basket and served himself. "Go ahead and eat, there should be plenty for both of us."

"I turned eighteen, anyway." she said, shoulders sagging a bit. She'd meant to tell him. Anyway, she grasped her pair of chopsticks and dug into a bowl of fried rice, hungrier than even she realized.

But it was her birthday recently? She had said nothing about that. "You should have said something, we would have wanted to do something special for you."
And he will indeed do something special for her beyond this. It was strange to consider that she was so much older than him, it didn't seem that way. She still had the idealism of someone younger. Though it was also strange, since it was nearly winter in his own world, and that meant he would be turning seventeen soon. Things sure did get mixed up by them coming here, not that it matter much.
"Anyway, happy birthday."

"I'm sorry," she said quietly. Takiko had all but forgot, she'd been so sore and tired from her ordeal with the Malnosso.
When he said those words, she smiled at him, and set down her bowl to grasp his hands. "Thank you." There was more she wanted to say, so much more. The girl worried her bottom lip with her teeth before she set her jaw and met his eyes with a fond look.
"You're wonderful. I'm happier when I'm with you than I've been in my life. And.." Deep breath, deep breath. "If I'm not in love with you already, then I'm falling too fast to tell the difference." Color burned in her cheeks, but she was smiling. She wanted to tell him, because it was how she felt; and something he'd been waiting to hear.
No matter what happened here, Japan, his world.. nothing would change how she felt.

"You aren't to blame. We can still do something special for you even if it's late." He set down his food at this point to be able to listen to her more intently.
Her next words though were quite surprising. True, he knew he would happen again in time, but not nearly this fast. He couldn't help but smile back, he knew it was a hard thing to say, it had been hard for him to say it the first time too. He squeezed her hands. "And I love you." And then he pulled her closer to him so he could kiss her.

It had been difficult to say. Her cheeks were pink, and she was looking rather shyly over at him. Words like those, feelings like those changed things entirely. It was as if her world had shifted on its axis, and here he was again, telling her he loved her. Breathing in a quick inhale of air to steady herself, she smiled at him.
When he kissed her, this time unlike the others she tilted her face, closed her eyes and returned it fully. The feelings were there behind the gesture for her fully and it made this all the nicer.
