Because I fail at paying attention...

Who: Seifer and Selphie, then Squall to the rescue.
What: Probably a beating.
When: Evening, some time after the bodyswitch event.
Where: Barrier.
Summary: Selphie finally runs across Seifer, we'll see what ensues.
Rating: Undoubtedly at least Mature for violence and Seifer's mouth.

Now that things were relatively back to normal, as normal as they ever got in Luceti anyway, Seifer was back to his routine. This mostly consisted of patrolling the village for a while, skulking about in the woods, and kicking the barrier uselessly in frustration. As much "fun" as it was to be around all those people he knew from his past, and had beaten the tar out of him, he wasn't particularly comfortable with it at all.

Though Seifer was glad they weren't sharing the same fate, he did miss his posse.

Of course being far too caught up in one's thoughts offered the perfect opportunities to be snuck up on by someone he wasn't expecting. An often yellow-clad someone, in this case.

Squall had only really offered as the merest courtesy, anyway. That and because he knew that Seifer would be too stubborn to ask for the help. Besides, he was fairly certain it had to be better than wandering around with the pain.

"Sorry about that."

Sorry about bringing up what he did, that was. He wasn't going apologize for what Seifer did.

Say rather, he wouldn't hold it against her given who she'd been fighting with. With Seifer around losing one's temper seemed to be far more frequent than it really had a right to be.

"He's good at that," Squall answered with a shrug. It was the way things had always been, really. Probably the way it always would be, too.

Squall just sighed at that. Trying to explain Seifer (as he saw him) was a daunting task, and not really something he wanted to get into. Seifer was Seifer, really. And that's all there was to it.

"Maybe he doesn't want the reminder either?"

It probably wasn't the greatest of feelings to know you were responsible for an entire Garden's worth of deaths, after all. And that wasn't taking Ultimecia into account either.

No, all he wanted was to be thoroughly annoying. You could not want a reminder without wanting to move on, right? You could be perfectly fine forgetting something. BUt he would admit that he wasn't the greatest at that sort of thing.

"Don't bother. He probably won't listen anyway."

That or he would and would decide that what better time for a second round. For whatever odd twisted reason that jumped into his head.

There was a moment of silence from Squall at that. Just because Seifer was a jerk wasn't a really good reason to be one back. But one the other hand, it was Seifer and if there was anything he was good at it was convincing people to not care about him.

"It might mean you'd be wasting your time."

But he wasn't going to stop Selphie either, if that was what she'd made up her mind to do.

She wasn't the only one who had yet to find anything of real interest out at the barrier. Oh, Squall had tried to find a way through more than once on his own, but they'd come to the same end result. Nothing interesting, nothing to report. And with those things (presumably) outside the barrier he wasn't exactly sure a single person would fair well.

"Don't worry about it."

It was just part of looking out for who he was supposed to, really.
