Summary: Here is the post describing the event!

At the door there stands a droid; he's wearing a very snazzy tux, and collecting the invitations. If you don't have an invitation, don't worry!

Just get the hell in that room. Thank you.

The ballroom is enormous, more than enough to accommodate you and your fellow captives. The lighting is overall somewhat dim to set the atmosphere; there are tables bunched together at one end of the room, and a rather large dance floor at the other (complete with lights, strobe and spotlight, and a DJ-droid in a sequined suit and sporting a hangman's noose around his neck). To the side, lengthy tables loaded with all sorts of partyriffic snacks and drinks. And of course, droids milling about in the same sharp suits the one at the door was clad in, all with little spooky variations to add festivity -an arrow through the head, Frankenstein bolts through the neck, vampire fangs, etc- as they seem to be setting chairs, cleaning up used plates and cups, and generally stopping anyone from sneaking out the windows or doors.

It can be noted, however, that the droids are terribly outnumbered.

You can join in the festivities; take a seat and wait for a friend or a date, have a snack or try to escape. Just make sure to make the night memorable.

Because there is something lurking outside...and if you leave to investigate, you might not come back.

Rubi wasn't exactly unfit himself, either. Though he was tall and slender like most elves, he was also a hunter, and it showed. His body was fit and there were numerous scars on his chest and arms.

"Did you now? How long did you keep searching after I had left?"

"A while. There's more than one pack around town, you know. But nice try."

Dyne was attempting to sound cool and mildly annoyed, but it was hard to concentrate with the droid around. It hadn't been that long since his own kidnapping and he was well aware of how brutal the things could be. The fact that they had not tried anything as of yet made little difference to him.

"I'm so glad you found some." He once again offered the cigar to Dyne, subtly trying to get him to shut up. It would do him a lot of good, since he did feel awkward in his costume...he was just good at hiding it.

After a while, though, he started to pick up on Dyne's nervousness. He had never been Mallynapped, so he wasn't nearly as tense about the droids. "...What's wrong?"

Look Rubi, he can do the dry tone too. "I'm sure you are." He was never one to refuse a light though, so he accepts the cigar with a brief nod of thanks.

His eyes flicker back momentarily to Rubi before returning to rest on the droid again. Dyne saw no reason to tell Rubi about his previous encounter with the droids, so:

"...Nothing. That thing is just irritating, is all."

Well, here's hoping Dyne brought a lighter, then. Rubi does not particularly want to share his matches with Dyne.

He didn't buy that for a second, though, so he probed a bit further. "You've seen these things before today?"

Maybe he ought to steal your matches. Fair's only fair. But Dyne does in fact have a lighter with him. A nice silver one that he probably jacked off of some Valuan warship.

He doesn't particularly want to share his life story with Rubi so all the elf gets is a brief answer.

"Yeah. Once."

Ever try stealing from an elf, Dyne? Just because he's wearing a loincloth doesn't mean he doesn't have nimble fingers himself, you air thief.

And he's not too interested in his life story.

"...so they're the ones who perform the kidnappings."

Hey, Dyne is very good with his hands. Maybe you'll figure that out one day.

Excellent. No problems on that front then. Though, Rubi's answer causes a slight tenseness in the Air Pirate, who responds by giving only a silent nod. It was something he'd rather not think about, to be honest.

Maybe one day Dyne will figure out that Rubi isn't a complete jackass. Just mostly one.

He noticed the tenseness again, though. Years of wandering the human world had taught him to be a bit of a people watcher, and he was surprised to see that Dyne was reacting in such a way. He had expected Dyne to be stronger than that...and it made him wonder just how bad it was. He didn't say anything about that, though.

"I see."

Maybe. Unlikely, but maybe.

But Dyne just shrugs his shoulders.

"Experience is different for most people, I guess. But abduction doesn't seem to be on their agenda tonight."

Rubi studied the droids carefully, wondering what they were really up to.

"Not yet, at least."

There was a sentiment he could agree with.

"...No. Not yet."

Rubi looked forward to the day he was taken, if only to see what the big idea was.

"...You. What's your name, human?"

So charming, Rubi. Dyne is completely blown away by your social grace, and will turn his gaze back to you with a bit of an annoyed stare.

"'Human', huh? So just what are you supposed to be?"

Rubi is equally unimpressed, Dyne. You smell so great smoking there.

"I'm an elf, of course."

~~Hey cigars aren't the only thing he smokes~~ Dyne just shrugs. He has no idea was an elf is, and honestly, he doesn't really care.

"...Dyne."

~~That doesn't count.~~ Rubi notices the shrugging, and he's not going to bother clarifying himself.

"Rubi."

He'd just find you irritating if you did.

"Hm. Nice to meet you then, I guess."

He was fine with just ending the conversation there, but unfortunately another of the droids noticed him and pushed him straight at Dyne with more than enough force to knock Dyne over if he wasn't paying enough attention.

"I sup--gah!"

Wow okay no. Indeed Rubi almost knocked him over, and probably would have if Dyne wasn't used to acting fast already. As it was, Dyne managed to shift his legs into a position that kept them both from toppling onto the floor and grabbed a hold of Rubi's shoulders, shoving him roughly backward before the elf buried himself into his chest. Sorry Rubi. He's not very fond of people being randomly flung at him.

"What the hell?!"

Rubi was actually rattled for the first time since he arrived at Luceti. The push was hard, and he knew he'd have a bruise when he woke up in the morning. Unfortunately, as soon as he pushed himself away from Dyne and took a step back, he was shoved right back at the pirate. The droids even tried to shove him towards the dance floor.

"What in the name of the Sword is going on?"

Dyne doesn't know either, but he does not like the look of the two of them being pushed toward the dance floor.

Oh no.

Oh no.

Oh hell no.

Dyne was beginning to tell where this is going and he didn't like it one bit. Unfortunately, despite his valiant efforts at attempting to flee, the droid was making sure the air pirate wasn't going anywhere.

"Oh, damn it!"

If Vyse saw this, he might have to kill him. Shame.

Rubi doesn't like the looks of it, either. From where he's standing, there aren't any other men being forced to dance, and...he's never even danced before. So while the droids try to push him, he's going to just stand there indignantly as if what's going on doesn't even involve him.

"Just ignore them. It'll stop."

He was wrong, though. He kept finding himself pushed towards Dyne.

Dyne knows the basics but hell if he's going to practice them with this jerkass elf. He gives a rather annoyed look that doesn't lighten up with Rubi's advice. Particularly when they continue to attempt to shove them together.

"Uh huh."

Rubi was getting tired of waiting himself. One particularly rough shove brought him a lot closer to Dyne than he would have liked, so he stood there, hoping that he was standing close enough to get them to stop. He grunted slightly at the droid before realizing that they had stopped. For the moment. Even though he was so close to Dyne that he could smell him.
