Summary: Aku has kidnapped Nami! And Ginko! Straw Hats are mad as hell and aren't going to stand for it!
Rating: Rated ARRR for pirates (or probably PG-13 for violence and Sanji's potty mouth)

[Certainly not going to be that easy, Aku. Adell quickly gets in the way of the Spider-Aku's assault and delivers a flaming kick to its face. He might not be able to hurt it, but if nothing else he can get in the way and disorient it.]

[Simon's not wasting any time with weak attacks, this time. He goes straight for the whip's most powerful form. Standing his ground, he swings his whip at Aku (careful to avoid Adell). As the whip flies through the air flames cover it, to an untrained eye it may look as if the whip itself is made of flames for a moment.]

AHH--!

[Flonne immediately backs up when she notices who Aku's prime target is. It takes her a moment, but as soon as that moment has passed, she jumps high into the air and uses her power to shoot arrow-like feathers at Aku -- Holy Arrows. Aku probably remembers that attack from the last time he ran into Flonne, too.]

[Aku has learned from his fight at the grocery store and his encounter with Simon Belmont. And he notices that whip. Destroyed, indeed. You're toast, Vash. As soon as Adell's attack hits, the spider bursts into a flock of tiny bats that are agile enough to swoop around the incoming arrows and the whip. Razor sharp teeth are presented as they attempt to latch on to Flonne and Simon. As for Adell... Adell who?]

[Total hell. Aku knows what he's trying to do. With every ounce of his speed, he's going to try to interdict the bats from hurting Flonne; she's closer, and he only has time to react on instinct. He'll blast through at top speed to beat them there, acting as a shield for Flonne.

Of course, that means he's going to be taking these hits. And man, are they going to hurt. A lot of those bats will strike him and some of them will draw blood. But it's nothing Adell hasn't taken before. He'll swat away what bats he can with flaming fists of fury.]

[If Simon had the time, he would compliment Aku's clever move. It appears that Adell is protecting Flonne, so Simon just focuses on protecting himself. Simon quickly swings his whip all around to protect from the swarm of bats. Of course, even if he can kill or chase some of them away, at least a few are gonna make it through and deliver some bites.]

[Aw crap, bats. Flonne immediately puts her arms up in front of her in an attempt to defend herself, but when Adell acts as a human shield, she relaxes.

For a moment.

There's no way she's going to stand there with all these little bats around, so instead, Flonne quickly uses a basic wind spell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4MQ0s8S3jQ) (1:30-1:35) in an attempt to blow the bats away from Adell.]

[After getting their teeth sunk into Adell and Simon, most of them will be blown away by the wind spell. This means Aku needs something a little more solid to avoid being blown away. The bats all fly together into a little tornado as they fuse together. Digging into the ground like a drill, the tornado is gone...

And returns from behind the group in the form of a scorpion. Unlike previous forms, this one has a nice shell made from the stone of the mountain. Its legs and claws remain uncovered, for maneuverability. The stinger immediately goes for Simon at the same time as a pair of eye lasers.

But before Adell and Flonne will get a chance to react, smaller dog-sized Aku spiders will come rapidly pouring out of the hole. They're small, maneuverable, and they have the advantage of nice sharp claws in the ground to prevent being blown away. Their intent is to bypass Adell entirely and go for Flonne.]

[Upon seeing these smaller spiders coming in a wave, the Demon Hunter scowls and steps between them. He can't afford to aid Simon and leave Flonne exposed. Adell grits his teeth and utters a line with hot-blooded heroism, despite his injuries.]

You'll go no further! For her sake, I will not fail!

Lion's Roar!

[With a leap into the air, Adell fires a massive energy blast into the incoming wave of smaller spiders, which explodes upon impact, hopefully either dispersing or scattering these incoming enemies and buying Flonne enough time to counterattack.]

[Simon hardly notices Adell's shouting. He's too busy focusing on the huge scorpion attacking him. He makes a leaping dodge to avoid the lasers and stinger. Once he's out of the way, he gets ready for the stinger to come at him again so he can counterattack, while also keeping an eye out for more laser attacks.]

[Adell, that line. That line.]

Wow ... no wonder he's Prism Black.

[Oh wait, fight. Right. She'll be throwing another Holy Arrows spell in Aku's direction, now that the targets are a little bigger.]

[Blah blah blah. Why are heroes so chatty?

Several of the spiders go belly up and land on their backs. Of course turning over isn't an issue. They legs just bend in the opposite direction, the faces twirl around, and they keep coming. Most of them go unhindered, but a few are too slow to avoid being dispersed completely by a few arrows. This only seems to drive them to go faster and a few of them will be leaping at Flonne. As for Adell, he'll find himself the sudden target of a large Moro-shaped (and sized!) Aku plowing into him.

The stinger shoots at Simon again, but instead of lasers, Aku sends out a jet of flame from his mouth, going around in a circle as he attempts to make sure Simon isn't so fortunate in dodging this time.]

[Moro!Aku's charge catches Adell off guard, knocking him away and prone several yards away.]

[That hurt. But this Demon Hunter's nowhere near being done. Adell immediately leaps back to his feet. ...There's a huge wolf form of Aku standing between him and protecting Flonne. Like that's going to stop him.

Tapping into his power, his hands glow with fire and he lunges forward at superhuman speed. Like a comet, Adell's wreathed in energy as he Crimson Flames right through this wolf version of Aku. Nothing's going to stop him from getting back to shield Flonne from those spiders.

...But just in case, Flonne. You better do something...]

[Simon strikes at the descending stinger at the same time as he dodges it. Of course, even if that blow hits, Simon is dodging right into Aku's flame. He takes a serious burn, on his side, shouting out in pain as he pulls himself out of the fire.]

[OH GOD OH GOD. Flonne jumps back as quickly as she's able to, sending out a basic Star spell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4MQ0s8S3jQ) (2:11-2:14) in front of her in the hopes of blowing the leaping spiders back.]

[Adell literally does go straight through Aku, tearing through him like paper. But this seems to have been intentional because as Adell sails through, the wolf begins to reform around Adell, with the intention of trapping him inside.

With Simon seemingly out of the picture for the moment, the scorpion turns its attention on Flonne. The spiders are blown away, but at the same time the scorpion sends its spiked tail at her from behind, aiming to pierce her straight through.]

[Planned or not, Adell's pissed as hell and when Aku's dark energy begins to engulf him, he simply turns up the heat. Literally.

Mana power fully awoken now, Adell glows with an orange aura as he breaks through the shadows. Like a fireball, he breaks through the rest of the way and in a split second decision, he dives for Flonne to slam her out of the way of the tail.

He goes fast enough avoid getting impaled himself, but the spiked tail will graze across Adell's back just beneath his wings. That was a really close call, and he winces with pain. Can't counterattack yet. Right now he has to stay in Aku's way.]

[Simon knows that he needs to distract Aku, even just for a moment, for Flonne to get out of the way. Simon hurls his cross at Aku, Then runs to get closer, catching the cross as it returns regardless of whether or not it hits Aku.]

[Flonne honestly had no idea why Adell suddenly burst out and tackled her so suddenly, but seeing that scorpion tail shoot out just seconds afterward helped her figure it out quick.]

Adell!

[... Okay, she can't stand around and let Adell play Lord Meatshield anymore. Simon's in trouble as well with his injury, and she can't help defend them both with just her basic spells.

... Right. There's That Thing, isn't there? She'd need to distance herself first, though. So for right now, Flonne's going to send out another basic Star spell in Scorpion!Aku's direction as a distraction for them all before trying to move a fair distance away.]

[The cross hits the scorpion head on and cuts it in two. The two remaining pieces go back into the ground, becoming part of one mass of Aku shadowyness that coats the entire rocky mountain (though the heroes likely do not realize this). Ignoring Flonne and Adell for the moment, dozens of small tendrils suddenly shoot around Simon, grabbing at his arms and legs in an attempt to completely disable him and drag him down.]

Simon!!

[Adell knows he can't get close to that stuff or he'll end up the same way. He's only got one attack that can hit from a range... and it's not precise enough not to hurt Simon.

...Screw it. He can't just leave him there. Still glowing with orange energy, Adell bounds over and uses his momentum to strike through some of the shadows binding Simon's arms. With any luck, he can use his whip or cross to break free.

Once he cuts through, Adell will spin back around and try to get back into range to protect Flonne while she prepares her next attack.]

Adell!!

[Simon calls out at the same time as Adell. Simon struggles against the tendrils. If Adell manages to break any of them, he'll use his weapons to try to cut more of them.]

[While the above is going on, Flonne is backing away from the fray. And once she's backed up enough, she leaps into the air, creating energy wings behind her and gathering energy in front of her. Divine Ray (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg--DlINDaw), at half-power. She has little control over the direction these rays shoot out at, however -- hopefully, if they strike a little too close to where they are, Adell and Simon will know to get out of the way.]

[Between Simon's whip, Adell's attack, and Flonne's magic, the tendrils will be loosened. The scattered magic is more effective than it would otherwise be as it strikes the pool of Aku lying amongst the stone, burning away at the darkness. However, even as she tried to distance herself from the battlefield, Aku is everywhere.

Including right behind her in his typical monstrous form. A pair of eye lasers fire in her direction just as her spell comes to an end.]
