What: "Vacation" to the hot springs
When: After this post and some walking.
Where: Uuuh the hot springs!
Summary: Al and Usagi have been planning this a while, and now that thing have settled and the weather has cleared, they're off to enjoy themselves.
Rating: I don't expect over PG-13??


[ They'd been walking for quite a while, but Alphonse was used to walking. Through the forest was better than through the desert. There were no sunburns under the shade of the trees. No lack of water. No sun being particularly angry at him for dare treading in ITS domain.

But, even so, he felt it was time for a rest, and for lunch. Some time to step away from their bored singing and plucking at tall grass and lugging along their bags to set things down, including themselves. ]

Let's take a break. It's not much further now, anyway.

[She gives an excited hum in agreement, more than happy to sit back and take a short break. Her legs weren't too sore, but they had already done more walking than Usagi enjoyed in a day.] Good idea, Al! [She stretches her legs out before plopping down on a large smooth rock, carefully sitting her bag next to her.]

[ Al looks absolutely content, setting his bag down and stretching his arms above his head with a yawn. ]

It really is beautiful out today, huh?

I think we got lucky. [She glances up towards the sky, her smile widening, before turning her attention back to her boyfriend. She watches him contently for a moment before speaking again.]

Such a nice day, and I get to spend it all with you.

[ He looks over and smiles shyly. No matter how long they were together, he always felt a little shy around her. ]

I've definitely got the better deal, getting to spend it with you.

[ Her cheeks warm at his words. Al always seemed to know how to make her feel special. ]

That's what you think. [ She sometimes wondered why he liked her, someone as sweet as he could make any girl swoon. He reminded her of those male love interests in old romantic foreign movies her mother used to watch, they always seemed perfect and dashing and always knew the right things to say. Her heart swells slightly. ] A little vacation with my dashing prince, it's just what the heart and mind needed.

[ He laughs a little, scratching behind his ear with a grown smile. ]

I wouldn't say prince, but you are right about the rest. I'm already feeling a lot better.

[ She stretches out slightly, almost laughing herself. ]

I'm so glad we finally got to do this. We should plan things like this more often!

I'd definitely be for it. [ He's checking his journal for the map he drew. ]

It should only be another quarter mile.

That's not too far, right? [ As much as she loves spending time with Al, the walking was killing her. ]

Nope, not far at all. Then we can jump right into the springs, right?

Yes! Definitely! [ She jumps up without warning, pumping a fist towards the sky. ] R&R, here we come!

[ He laughs and picks up his back, standing up as well. ]

[ She picks her own up and points in the direction they need to go before she starts walking. ]

Have you gone on a trip like this before?

[ She shakes her head, and then pauses. ]

Here? Not really. I mean, beside that whole 'red sky, wings molting' exploration thing with Albert and Flonne. [ Oh, did her and Flonne get on people's nerves. ] Back home, sometimes. I mean, less walking for sure, and more of a family thing, but we'd go visit a hot spring sometimes. Or we'd go to the beach when dad could get days off.

Ah, I remember that time. At least you got something done, even though it was pretty scary.

The beach? Really?

[ Al looks pretty excited. He's never been to a beach... well, at least, if he has, it wasn't in his human body and he couldn't swim without death, anyway. ]

[ She nods happily in agreement, kicking a small rock out of her way. ]

If only we had one here! I think you'd love it! The warm sand beneath your feet, the waves splashing at the shore, the smell; it's all pretty amazing!

[ He smiles thoughtfully, shifting the bag on his back. ]

Maybe there's beaches in Germany.

[ She tightens her grip on her own bag as she thinks. ]

Maybe they have a map at the library! [ urrk. library. Usagi'll let Al do the map-looking. ] It can't hurt to check! Then we'll know if I get to drag you to a beach!

We can do that when we get back. If not, we can ask that man from Germany. He seemed excited when I spoke about it.

Great idea! Germany-man should know all! [ She hops a little in excitement, and stumbles, almost falling. ]--Ohaha!

Ah, be careful! No hopping until we get there. The bag throws you off balance. [ He chuckles, but he's keeping an eye on her, now. Just in case he needs to catch her. ]

I am so sorry this is so late!

[ She gives him an awkward salute. ] Righto! No hopping till we get there! [ She hops again anyway, and then laughs. ]

It's okay! I'm gonna be kinda slow this week, too. Just back from the hospital

I wouldn't call it rebelling! [ She turns and sticks her tongue out at him playfully. ] Just not listening when I should!
