(no subject)

Who: Frontliners, Infiltrators, Kidnappees (See here for info)
What: The attack on the base!
When: October 11th (all day)
Where: Renegade Malnosso Facility
Rating: Varies on thread!

It had been over twenty-four hours since the infiltration. The Malnosso were notorious for their long work hours, many pulling twenty hour shifts at any given time. Fortunately, each department had its share of private resting areas with beds to allow the overworked staff - or infiltrators - get some much needed shut eye between tasks. But now there allies were arriving. All the information they had gathered and sabotaged planned was about to go into play. Would they be successful?

As for the kidnapped, John's pill was finally starting to cancel out the effects of the drugs. Already brighter and more alert than before, it would soon be time for their escape and either flee or help their comrades storm the building.

The front line attackers had met with their strategist before the battle and were now positioned in the forested area around the facility, out of sight and mind for the Malnosso inside. All they needed was the sign to attack from their person inside.

----

OOC Notes: Note that when the front liners attack, security checkpoints and Shifting should be disabled. For those curious about Floor 3, there is still no access to it. HOWEVER, there is no longer a Shift protecting it. If any character is reckless or foolish enough to access it, do so while considering the possibility of your character being seriously injured (or even killed!) in what ensues.

To recap: read Albert's OOC marching orders. Security guards are armed with short swords, night sticks, and hand guns. Most have normal human abilities, but higher ranked guards in high security areas will be highly skilled and may possess some amount of superhuman strength and speed. The Malnosso droids/drones all possess superhuman strength and speed. Since everyone is at full power, they are at 'half strength' relative to what people are used to. Brute strength and strong electrical attacks will be effective on them. It's also possible the infiltrators will keep most of them from ever activating to respond to the attack. They are not invincible and with enough effort, people should be able to handle them.
Note: Thanks to the infiltrators, most of the drones have been disabled and won't activate during the alarm. A small number will be present, but no more than twenty at the most.

Finally, going back to Floor 3, there will be a separate thread within the log for that. If someone attempts to enter it after the battle, I'll setup the scenario there for people to interact with.

[Eventually, additional chaos will be added to those levels when the Shifting technology on the basement level goes down thanks to Raine's interference on the upper levels.

Raine herself will end up in that basement area - partially for safety reasons, if anyone identifies her upstairs - but for now she's found herself in more of a conundrum of how to actually get back out of this mess. Buffy may notice Raine being shuffled around the area, at least trying to bluff her way through ... not actually knowing anything about the machines except how to shut them down effectively.]

[Buffy decides to step in. Advancing on Raine, she clears her throat.]

Err--uhm. Researcher? We'll need your help fixing this.

[And by fixing this, she means getting the hell out of dodge. Firmly, she grabs onto Raine's arm and steers her towards the hallway that leads to the stairwell--glaring presumptuous daggers at anyone who would dare question her movements. Just act like you belong.]

-- Of course. [It's a comfort to hear a familiar voice at a time like this. Raine had quietly modified the machine she had been shoved at, so that even if the ones upstairs were fixed, this one wouldn't be - and follows Buffy's lead since the woman obviously has more of her bearings on this level already.]

[After leading Raine out of the room, she turns and jerks her head towards the door.] Better shut that. [She whispers, looking around for something big and heavy to drag in front of it.]

[There's not much around, but there are a few unattended desks. She indicates them with a tilt of her head.]

[Buffy easily shoves one over, jamming it underneath the handle. Luckily, there seems to be a lull in the hallway traffic.]

Wow--Raine? Just how much of this insanity are you the author of? [Impressed.]

[She keeps alert, watching the next corridor for any unwelcome surprises.] ... All of it, it would seem, though I honestly didn't expect things to get like this so quickly. They really are reliant on that technology.

Welcome to the future, Raine.

[She pauses to ensure--one last time--that the door is blocked.] Even in my time, a power black-out would send a whole town into a wiggins.

I can imagine. Even in my world, there are some places more technologically reliant than others. But... now's not the time for talk. There are other rooms to block. [She eyes a security checkpoint down the hall.]

Stick with me. [She whispers.] I think I can get us through--I mean, people seem pretty cowed by the white coat.

[Slow, confident steps.]

... Good. Maybe it'll make them less likely to try and grab me. They seem to think that Researchers automatically will know how to fix things. Even though it's obvious that they don't.

I'll assure them I need you to fix--God, I don't know. The automatic flushing on floor two, for all they probably care. Just so long as they're so-well-aware that you are mine until I get you safely to some floor that isn't this one.

... Just as long as we avoid the upstairs floors. If they're able to link me to what happened with the machinery, it won't be good for either of us-

[She falls quiet as two of the security team members step out in front of them.]

[Clearing her throat.]

Move--and don't make me say please. [Icy-cold, Buffy tilts her head back towards the mayhem of the rest of the floor.] At least--move if you ever want to see that mess tidied up.
wise_maiden: (but the time has come to move along)

[The team seems to look the two women both over before nodding and hurrying off. After all, there's mayhem for them to attempt to contain.]

Impressive. Now lets take care of this next area. [She gestures to the nearby checkpoint.]
