[Anyone passing through the center of town this evening will have a very hard time missing that large golden Santa statue that has suddenly appeared in the fountain. But... wait, isn't that Bil instead of Santa? Somehow, that isn't exactly a surprise.

But perhaps the most interesting feature of the statue is the large button at its base. Will you press it?]

The statue? [Peering at the statue first, taking note of the large button on it. Then taking a closer look at the book Luke was holding out to her, blue eyes widening slightly in surprise.]

How...? [Not that she's going to object, she can practically taste Luke's excitement. Yummy.]

[Luke's excitement probably tastes like gumdrops or something. 8|a He pulls the book back to himself, flips it open and passes a finger through the lines of text, which is explaining how most hyperresonances are caused by two seventh fonists. And that's only the introduction!]

I don't know! Maybe the statue found it?

[Upon mentioning it again, he glances up from his book to look back at the giant Bil/Catherine statue.]

How would an immobile statue find it? [But she's walking closer anyway, gloved hand lingering over the button.]

[Sometimes it seems like it does? But she shrugs and pushes that button, as wary as ever as a small white box comes out of it. Tear picks it up and weighs it, but she's not opening it just yet. just to tease Luke's curiosity]

My mother's necklace... [Tear hadn't been feeling homesick very much since arriving in Luceti, considering the fact that all her companions were here. But the necklace brings with it the reminder of how they still needed to deal with Van back home, and how he really was her only family left...
