Summary: Things just went from bad to worse.

On the final day of the draft, the rain will kick in early in the morning. Unfortunately it only seems to get thicker and doesn't stop as the day presses on. In spite of the horrid conditions, the Third Party doesn't seem deterred. Their own Shifting is enough to provide personal canopies to keep the rain off them. Far more Elites have joined the battle and a whole new wave of soldiers seems to have entered the battle. Despite three days of nonstop fighting, their forces seems to be just as strong, if not more so by the horrid conditions. The constant rain, overflowing rivers and streams, and muddy waters is no deterrent for the Third Party, not even in flight.

Save for some brief periods where the rain lets up, it will continue like this until midnight, at which point the Malnosso will warp them all back to Luceti, even in the middle of fighting. After all, there's no point leaving them to a battle where the conditions continue to stack against them.

(From this post: During the last day, some of the Third Party will be converging around the base and take advantage of the weather to attempt a full assault. Traps will be sprung, mines will go off, and much chaos will be had. Things will be dank, miserable, and horrid out there, but they aren't going to be sitting ducks out there.)

[Giles has finally returned to the perimeter of the camp, just on the other side of the ring of traps. Maybe it's exhaustion setting in, maybe it was his talk with Paprika, but the ex Watcher seems a bit less violent and a great deal more focused in his fighting, although any Shift Hunters that come within his eyesight are still messily detonated, almost as though it's a reflex.

He can keep the rain off for about twenty five feet in any direction centering on him. He can soften the blows being rained on any villagers he can see. But depending on how many are around him at any given time, that will leave him vulnerable to large numbers of soldiers or few numbers of Elites.

Ranged combat that isn't magic is useless in these conditions. So Giles will go sword-to-sword with any member of the Third Party that gets close enough. Sentries he can still cut down quickly enough. Elites will be far more problematic and require far more of his attention.

All in all, the man is still behaving like some kind of automaton in his fighting and behavior. But he's fighting a little more like those who know him might expect Giles to fight, and help would be greatly and evidently appreciated.]

[Ask for help and he shall receive. Despite the heavy downfall, the sky brightens slightly just in front of Giles. Like a ray of hope the rainfall seem to be causing pain to the enemies as it fell.

The caster of this Holy Rain was not too far off. Alexei was coming towards the mass in the other direction, returning to the base camp after days out in the forest. He's tired, wet, bruised and despite his fatigue, he still wanted to fight. He had a taste of having power again and he will enjoy every last bit of it, even if his body was reaching past exhaustion.]

[Shikamaru slams into his stomach, lifting him up and throwing him over his shoulder. His feet flail helplessly and he nearly drops the gun, but there's no time to wonder when--]

[The cannons she had been ordered to fire are bathed in smoke, and even her OS could barely identify anything with the constant rain playing hell on her radar. The enemy had become more aggressive, and the waves against the camp were becoming more recurrent.

Daisy-023 had expected to be called to the front sooner or later, but when the smoke dissipates, she notices that the enemey had just reached them.

She raises her weapon. There were too many.

Her left fingers caress the ironless pommel that laid attached to her left thigh. Despite it all, the amusing thought comes that Fred would feel so much envy even now.]

Fix bayonets.

[And as the line of enemies comes close to the camp, the roar of a single-engine jet (http://www.trdefence.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/F-35-st.jpg) painted in Yellow Squadron's (http://acecombatskies.com/uploads/gallery/1203633675/gallery_16_4_93257.jpg) colors breaks through the clouds and rain.

The aircraft's main cannon roars to life as it swoops across the line, sending dozens and dozens of hot metallic points across the advancing Third Party line, shredding some of them.

And as the F-35 pulls up and away, Thirteen's voice crackles from the radio systems.]

[Selphie comes to thanks to the sudden explosions. She sits bolt upright in the cot she'd been placed in and immediately regrets the sudden movement. Her body is screaming in pain and whatever healing magic had been used had clearly not patched her up all the way. Her armor has been stripped away, leaving the perky brunette in the bloodied clothes she was wearing underneath.]

K-kida... F-f-frey...

[Spotting her Morning Star nearby, Selphie grabs it and struggles to stand as she ends up leaning heavily upon her weapon and starts to wobble toward the entrance of the tent. She has to help them, have their back like she said she would. They were a team and teammates stuck together through thick and thin.]

I... I'm coming...!

[Well. Given the day, Mia spent the previous night here. And now she was coming back into this tent, to do what she could in a far-too-short reprieve between attacks.

...Who is this, trying to leave?]

You really shouldn't be up, miss. [her voice is kind and soft, but her hand is over Selphie's where it rests on her weapon. There will be no arguments.]

[Between the forest's hazards and the Third Party itself, Cecil was already not at his best. Kain's death had only worsened that feeling, draining most of his will to fight once he and Rydia had defeated the monster responsible.

Now, with the rain and the unending assault, he only feels tired.

He's long abandoned his usual blade, left hanging in its sheath, and has taken to throwing the battle items he'd requested at his adversaries. The fire-elemental objects are now completely useless, of course, but between the thunder- and earth-elementals, he still manages to do some damage.]

[Though Rydia's far from her usual self, barely speaking or doing more than casting spell after spell, she's still at Cecil's side. Kain's death has made her all the more determined to make sure that the paladin sees it through this alive. When not flinging lightning spells at their enemies or attempting a band, she's sending filial healing magic his way. That makes it inevitable that Shift Hunters will find them sooner or later, but she'll fight them, too. She'll fight everything until she drops or Cecil drags her back.]

[The rain hadn't been bothering Vash too much. He's always enjoyed the feel of rain falling down on him. That was of course until he realized it was making it hard to hear approaching third party members. He shivered as his coat was already starting to get soaked through. Maybe it was time to go back to the defensive group and see if he could find anything dry to wear.

He was on his way back when he noticed a small trail of muddy water that had begun to trickle between his feet. Only it didn't stay a long trickle for very long, before Vash knew what was going on a rush of water from some over flown bank rushed at him. It wasn't very deep, but the speed and suddenness of it all was enough to knock him off his feet and go sliding down the bank he had been climbing down.]

LOOK OUT BELOW! [No really, look out. Or you'll have a muddy, soggy Vash crashing into your legs. Or maybe those were Third Party Members he just crashed into? Or do you just watch as he goes skidding by?]

Defending perimeter of Hospital Camp

[Jack Sparrow has been busy snaring enemies and then slitting their throats. Over his dead body will any Third Party soldiers penetrate McCoy's setup. That being said, there has been little sleep and supplies are running low, and now---now the rain. He pauses to try to catch some of the falling water in his mouth, hoping it is a long time before he feels this hot and thirsty again.]

[SUDDENLY, A MISSILE.

Said missile isn't aimed at you, Sparrow, no worries there, but it does fly through the air and hit some poor Third Party member don't tell Vash about this. Any other planning to glide down with find themselves on the receiving end of a torrent of bullets.

Uh. Yeah. Jack, meet Punisher. Punisher, Jack.

Wolfwood himself is a little worn from the days of tiring fighting and rather limited supplies, but lucky for him feeling hot isn't much of an issue—even in his suit. Gotta love the desert.]

[The stormy, dark conditions are miserable for most. Including him. But Batman is an adaptable, dangerous foe. He moves around the perimeter of camp, ambushing and incapacitating Third Party members who get close or are alone. He drags what few he can back to captivity.

Otherwise, he'll be seen around camp re-arming defenses and making for damn sure no one starts killing the prisoners in the chaos of this.]

[During his stalking Batman may come across Vash, bent over actually using some of the bandages from his first aid kit to stop the bleeding on a shoulder wound to the latest Third Party Member he took down.

Only Vash isn't use to fighting in the rain and it's been days since he's gotten any real rest. So he just doesn't hear or sense that second Third Party Member that is trying to take advantage of Vash's distraction. The hard rain is covering up the usual tell tale sounds Vash listens for and while the injury he's trying to patch up isn't too life threatening, the rain is making it hard to finish the patch up quickly.

[Sleep? What's that? Mulder's downright exhausted from the lack of, but he's used to running on little to none when he's on an engrossing case. So although he'd like nothing more than to drop by now, he's got to keep going.]

[But it's difficult to see through the pounding rain when it comes, and it's getting even harder to avoid the traps. It's all going to hell. He's got to wonder how long they can keep going like this. Mulder keeps running until with a very sudden mine explosion nearby makes him have to duck and cover... by landing full-on into a mud puddle.]

[The mine exploding isn't hard to miss even in the midst of the chaos. Terra has been resetting magical mines as quickly as he can, and he runs in the direction of that explosion when he sees the man flat in a mud puddle.]

Once he's done with that, he's going to volunteer to aid with healing in the medical area. It was far more likely that healers were at a premium than fighters, but if it sounds like the fighters need another sword, he'd head out there.]

[After blowing up some cannons with Kennedy, Shikamaru doesn't hang along the base for long. He only stayed back here because he was low on chakra, after all, and in the chaos it's not like that matters anymore.

Troublesome as it is, this means he's going out to rejoin the offensive forces. Because if the Third Party are attacking the base, who knows what's in store for everyone else out there? He'd warn them in advance, but he lost his radio in the blast and his journal is next to useless with this rain, so he has no choice but to track people down.

If he does encounter any other draftees, he'll explain what's happened and tell them to get back to base. Better to retreat than to die out here.]

[Sasuke is on his way away from the camp. He knows what is going on over there, and on the way he has been picking off unsuspecting ambush teams as he finds them. His real objective isn't to do everyone's work for them, however, he is moving out to scout. The Third Party forces were increasing surprisingly fast after three days of heavy losses on their part. They must be coming from somewhere.

He is moving relatively slowly thanks to the weather. He is trying to stay as watchful of his surroundings as possible, but the rain is making it difficult. Despite moving from branch to branch and keeping under the thicket of leaves as much as possible, he isn't much better off than soaked through, and both his hearing and sight is of course limited.

However, even in this rain, it's hard not to notice shift hunters. There was a whole pack of them moving over the ground in the opposite direction - that is, towards the camp. Over the course of their stay there, Sasuke's standard way of killing them has become a kunai + exploding tag to the head, so he immediately pulls out a scroll to summon some to use on these. However, he is running out, and what he didn't expect to see in the distance is a group of three Elite, following the Shift Hunters, no doubt using them as make-shift tracking dogs to find their enemy.

Maybe Shikamaru hears Sasuke's last exploding tags going off and comes to take a look, or maybe, if he is ahead of Sasuke, he runs into the Elite first, and doesn't notice Sasuke until he has finished the Shift Hunters and come after the Elite as well. Or maybe, if he reaches the scene a bit later, he will find the gory mess that is the remains of the Shift Hunter pack, and notice the Elite further away, in which case Sasuke will be likely to be hidden away among the leaves close by, trying to devise some kind of plan. One thing is sure, though, with the steady trickle of foot soldiers following their commanders, there is a lot of cleaning up to do in this area.]

[By now, Thirteen's F-35 (http://www.trdefence.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/F-35-st.jpg) had to come in for a landing. The conditions are way too unsafe to attempt to take off again, though the aircraft is loaded up and ready to go if there's a break in the weather.

So now he's up on the front lines, carrying an assault rifle and shooting at enemies that approach.

This is not how he wanted to fight. But war's never optimal.]

[SPARTAN-023 is fighting nearby, ripping wings off with bursts of almost surgical nature with her rifle. With other winds, with the soldiers guarding a position like this, they would've been able of holding off, but as the Major noted, war was never optimal.

She notices Yellow Thirteen. The skies had turned too harsh to fly. Now the only choice is resisiting on the ground as long as they can.

The figure gives him a nod. The Major fought viciously on the skies, and the Chief trusted he would fight as fiercely on the ground.]

[After carrying Selphie back to camp and into the medical tent, Kouki took a moment to rest and catch his breath.

Once he rest up enough, he head out to join the fight against the enemies. Magic spells are cast on any Third Party members he see. Occasionally, he absorbed their energy with Drain to replenish his own to keep up the assault.

In this weather, it might be a bit hard to see his red eyes, should anyone come to help him out.]

[While Kouki is resting, Japan will come upon him. He has bundles of sticks in his arms, wrapped in a tarp to keep them dry.]

That's her first real conclusion once at the very end of the day the third party has started to break through all of the lines of defense and make it - albeit very sparingly and usually only to the edges - into the base proper. Sure there are people quick to intercept, but the sun is well down (not that you could see it through all the rain anyway) and there's a very real chance she'll need to use the gun (which she now has in hand). Or the taser. Or- Or- They both will still work in this much rain, right? She's trying to hide herself, but seeing as how shift hunters seek her out a lot, this might not work perfectly, particularly if they're trained ones which will alert their masters.

Someone want to give her a save from such an instance? Or run into her besides.]

[By the last day, he's noticed everyone's starting to fall behind. Get injured. Killed. And what's worse, he's falling back as well—shit. They weren't this strong, last time. Just how many were out here?

He wraps a minor injury up on his arm, and adds it to a little collection of scrapes and bruises he's been accumulating over the last few days. One could definitely say he looked like a guy who's been fighting the hell out of something. He's got enough tears and in his poor jacket to give a tailor a heart attack.

But for now, he's busy defending closer and closer to were the camps were. It's hard through this rain, but at the very least the white wings are still easy to see.]

[By the last day, Ian was... well. He's literally exactly the way he was the day he came here. In fact, he's doing even better. No injury, no hunger, no thirst, no weariness. He's in his element, and even the concept of drowning is impossible.

So he keeps near the camps, looking for anyone who's possibly injured and in need of help. Low on medicine, but if worse comes to worse, he's got a pocket knife and a hand that has plenty of blood.

Japan has been keeping to the base, taking care of small, but necessary things here and there, when he sees her. Approaching carefully, he calls out to her, a fair distance away in case she's jumpy since she does have a knife in hand.]

[Japan has stuck to the base in order to keep to his Constitution, working as support - gathering wood, cooking, keeping bedding dry, wrapping wounds, doing whatever he can that doesn't involve direct confrontation with the Third Party. He's seen far more war than most people would care to think and so even as the wounds get worse and the battle looks more and more dire, he doesn't seem that...upset. He just works efficiently, patching people up, keeping fires going, doing whatever is needed.

It isn't until the base itself comes under attack that he'll grab a weapon and even then, it's to protect, not to attack. If anyone needs a rescue, Japan's willing and ready to do it. The benefits of being a country is that he can't technically die unless the land he's attached to does, even here.]

[Frey had fallen back to the defensive lines with his squad already, determined to hold his ground there for as long as possible. Between the pouring rain ruining coordination and the pressure the opposition was placing on them, the outcome was looking grim to him.

How long could they last without reinforcements? Surely the Malnosso didn't intend to let them all die here, in a battle where little could be gained. Then again, the new people in charge didn't seem as concerned with them as Catherine had.

So that leaves Frey soaked to the bone, injured, and still fighting even though the sun has long set. He's nearly out of healing spells and the few rune scrolls he'd had left were already in the hands of those back at camp because they needed them more for the growing number of injured.]

[Sheena shouldn't be out fighting. She's run herself down and taken a solid beating or two. But it wouldn't be like her to sit around inside and wait for things to go down.

And so, here she is. How she ends up fighting there next to Frey is anyone's guess, and she's not much better off than he is. But maybe having someone to fight beside will help them both.]

[Rain was not usually a problem for Raven, a monsoon however was something else entirely. The loud noise being caused made it difficult to hear approaching troops, not to mention the severe lack of vision. Being so far away from the main camp only made things even worse.

Rather than continue on the offensive front, he decided it would be best to retreat, lay low and find shelter. Not that finding shelter was an easy task when the rainforest was even more of a maze thanks to flooding rivers and waist deep swamps. Thankfully, he managed to find the ruins he had passed a few days ago. Even though he knew they were more than likely full of Third Party soldiers and traps, he didn't have much of a choice in this situation. Survival was the most important thing, if he could make his way back to the camp then that would be an added bonus.]

[in her attempt to help aid and help find any stragglers, Casey found herself separated from the group. neither the rain nor the unfamiliar helped her, but she didn't panic. instead she just focused on trying to find some shelter...

and run into some soldiers. just her luck. though she had tried to move without drawing their attention, it wasn't too long before she was running through the jungle. she only took as much time as necessary to try and pick out a few with her bow, but she saved most of it for when came near the ruins. at least now her luck was starting to change, but would it be enough?

[For once, Dhaos wouldn't particularly mind nightmares as long as he got some sleep. He's been awake for the entirety of the past few days, and while he certainly was much better off than many of the humans who had done the same he's beginning to feel a little tired. He's not sure how much longer his mana will last, but he has no time to be slacking: this is the last day, and he wasn't about to be caught doing nothing with so little time left. Still, the weather was not helping.

Once he hears the message over the journals, Dhaos spends a few minutes warping about the battlefield trying to find the camp. He knows generally where it ought to be, but he might be off the first few times, so feel free to have him randomly teleport in your face.

Once he is in the base, he can be seen throwing spells like Cyclone, Tidal Wave, Judgment and Explosion around like no one's business. If the Third Party wants to invade the camp, they'd better be sneaky about it.]

[He isn't scared. No, more than anything, Albert is irritated at his own exhaustion. A blast of stone shrapnel has left a gash in his hairline, but it was far and away from an injury worth healing. He pulls his hood down lower to shield from the rain, running his fingers over a Soaring Bolt scroll. Some of Tsinku's energy binds with the scroll magic, and he hurtles the spheres of lightning at a pair of soldiers trying to fly into the base.

Then he retreats further into the camp. He doesn't have the capabilities to hold his ground should more soldiers attempt to come down on him.]

[As Albert runs back to camp, he might notice Rogue crouched behind some low covering and reloading a shotgun. Damn, those are some big bugs.]

[Given it's hard to see out here as it is, Greed relinquishes control to Ling. Sometimes because of Shifters preventing Greed from even being conscious. So instead of claws and armor, Ling has his new dao blade drawn and despite the rain and fighting nearly blind, is managing to somehow keep from being overwhelmed. But his energy is nearly spent and he's ravenously hungry. Fortunately he's been trained to fight in the dark and though faint, he can 'feel' a slight different chi in the Third Party than his own allies.

It's only a matter of seeing how much longer he can last like this.]

[The nice thing about armor is that it keeps you dry. And in weather like this? That's definitely a good thing.

Ven's giving this his all, but after days of fighting, it's hard to avoid fatigue.

He's a little slower than usual and relying on shotlocks and magic rather than close combos at this point. He's also staying close to the camp and any others close by, rather than rushing out to the frontlines.

But even then, he can't keep abusing spells constantly. Every now and then, he'll have to let his commands recharge, forcing him to rely on alternative methods of fighting-- including the occasional command style.]

[You and your armor, Ven. Luke, meanwhile, sends water every which way when a soldier clubs him in the face with... well, a giant club, catching his cheek and neck. The blow sends him whirling in the air and landing near Ven, and for a few seconds, it's enough to make Luke just lie there and sees stars in his vision, and it feels as if the world beneath him is spinning out of control.

Yeah, he'll help you when he can, Ven. But for right now, he has to squeeze his eye shut and focus enough to get up and bring down the enemy who practically punched him in the face with a block of wood.]

[With the onslaught of the monsoon, and after being forced back to the base camp due to injuries from the night before, Raine has spent some time in the recovery tent. That won't last too long for her; with the fighting still going on, she'll move outside, casting a few spells throughout the area of those protecting McCoy's camp. She moves as far out as she can throughout the camp without leaving the defensive area to aid recovering fighters; spells like field barrier to increase physical defenses, and acuteness to enhance a person's strength, when she can get close enough to those still fighting, as well as revitalize to give an extra refreshing boost to those still struggling.

At some point, the incantation for fairy circle might be heard by those in front of the medical tent, as Raine stands holding her staff, closing her eyes as she casts the spell, providing fast healing, refreshment, and restoration to all allies (combatant and noncombatant alike) as well as dealing severe damage or even killing a few enemies, within range of 50 feet of the spell.

... after that she'll need to rest for a bit, despite feeling restored herself. Everyone nearby or within range or just outside of it: feel free to notice the effects of the spell during fighting, even if they don't realize she was the one who cast it. She'll still check around to see where she's needed after having some time to rest, though the weather is starting to wear on her.]

[Albert had been heading back towards the better fortified areas of the camp, unrecognizable in his dark, drenched clothing as he heads towards relative safety. He squints against the bright light that spreads across the ground, looking away and continuing on his way.

...Considering the way he feels immediately after the light fades, he figures it was a healing spell. But he doesn't linger too long on the thought, especially when a sizable rock strikes the nearby crates, sending splinters flying.]
