Summary: Things just went from bad to worse.
Rating: Could get bloody!

On the final day of the draft, the rain will kick in early in the morning. Unfortunately it only seems to get thicker and doesn't stop as the day presses on. In spite of the horrid conditions, the Third Party doesn't seem deterred. Their own Shifting is enough to provide personal canopies to keep the rain off them. Far more Elites have joined the battle and a whole new wave of soldiers seems to have entered the battle. Despite three days of nonstop fighting, their forces seems to be just as strong, if not more so by the horrid conditions. The constant rain, overflowing rivers and streams, and muddy waters is no deterrent for the Third Party, not even in flight.

Save for some brief periods where the rain lets up, it will continue like this until midnight, at which point the Malnosso will warp them all back to Luceti, even in the middle of fighting. After all, there's no point leaving them to a battle where the conditions continue to stack against them.

(From this post: During the last day, some of the Third Party will be converging around the base and take advantage of the weather to attempt a full assault. Traps will be sprung, mines will go off, and much chaos will be had. Things will be dank, miserable, and horrid out there, but they aren't going to be sitting ducks out there.)

[Without thinking, he grabs her hand tightly, pulling her into following him as he retreated down a pathway. He could hear the clattering of metal heading towards their current location. But going outside was too risky, they needed to stay dry until the monsoon breaks. So for now, they were stuck playing a game of cat and mouse in the ruins.]

[okay, grabbing of the hand was not expected. but she's not about to protest. instead she just follows, keeping pace with him while taking the occasional glance back.]

Sorry. Runnin' away is kinda cowardly, but if we get caught we're gonna get the whole camp on us at once.

No, I understand. As much as I'd rather stand and fight, we're not in the greatest position.

But we can't run away forever, and we can't lead them back to the base, either.

Then we'll just have ta keep movin' and take out any soldiers who happen ta spot us. That's all we can do... dammit

[He leads her around a corner, the passageway is much larger and there are noticeable holes in the cieling where the heavy rain is pouring through. It's difficult to hear clearly once again.]

[her eyes dart around, trying to see if she could spot any other opening. she just happened to look upward towards the holes when she felt something just barely graze her.

a thin spear just large enough to fit some of those holes.

she glanced up again just in time to—]

[—pull the older man back just before another one landed right where he was about to step.]

[The spear wasn't the only thing coming through the holes. The Third Party soldiers began to invade the corridor, reclaiming their weapons and setting their targets to the duo.

This was bad, and took Raven by surprise. It took him a moment to click back to the situation at hand, he didn't expect a spear to have landed in front of him like, let alone being pulled back at random.]

We'll have ta fight!

[she already has her back against his, her bow drawn and ready.]

Then stop dithering and fight! [and she's already letting a few arrows fly.] If we're lucky some of them will activate more of those traps.

[He joins her in their lovely archery session.]

How is settin' more traps off a good thing?! [One of his arrows pierces straight through the guard of one of the soldiers. There's still another two left, it shouldn't prove difficult to stop them advancing. The only concern is that they may come from behind as well.]

Didn't you notice? The spears only fell once, but not again. So if they go ahead and activate the ones over there, we won't have to worry about it. Let their own traps do them in!

[and she takes out another one.]

[He finishes the last guard present, then begins to look around. There isn't much choice for them.]

If we want them ta set their own traps off, then we need to find another way to go or we'll end up caught in 'em too.

[hears a few screams as some unfortunate (or fortunate in their case) falls victim to the spears)]

[He follows her down another pathway, keeping a keen eye behind them for any approaching guards.]

Ok, how we gonna make sure they set off their own traps before us then?

At least most of them.

Though if we had some explosives of some kind we could always try collapsing the roof. I'm only wary that it might cause the whole structure to cave in.

Explosives, huh?

[He fires an arrow towards the roof, one that is usually used to make enemies explode. It may work, it may not, but either way, he's now pushing her to move quicker.]

If this does work, then we do not wanna be standin' anywhere near it!

[no need to tell her twice, though she is curious about those arrows. but first, they need to move. then questions.

so she quickly runs to what seemed to be a safe spot, waiting for the explosion.]

[He joins her in a little safe corner, surprisingly close. A few seconds later a bang is heard, not a loud one thanks to the heavy rain muting almost everything, but enough of an explosion to dislodge a brick or two. With the ruins in the condition they are, with all those holes? It causes a good portion of the roof to fall down, blocking that corridor from being used.]

Right, that's one path we don't have ta worry about bein' ambushed from. Hopefully it'll buy us some time to gain a bit of distance.

Yes, let's move while we have the chance. [and a pause.] What kind of arrows were those?

[He begins to set foot through the pathway once again. At least this one is dry.]

Huh? Oh, they were just normal arrows with a little magic touch.

But there are some questions I have to ask you first.

If it's which direction we should go? Then left. Right heads towards the center of the ruins, we don't wanna go there.

[And moving left he goes, trying to evade answering any questions. He has a feeling he knows what she's going to ask.]
