Summary: The ocean part of the promised swim lessons!
Rating: G as far as I know. Maybe PG.

The water is relatively calm today, which makes it easier for lessons. Lucky~! It feels like any beach trip might.

Ami, clothed in shorts and a shirt over her bathing suit and wearing a whistle around her neck, wades just a short distance into the water so that it laps at her bared feet. She digs her toes deeper into the muck, unseen.

She has a few extra whistles for other instructors or helpers, and she looks over the group assembled. This is the first time she's really put herself forward like this, though she's confident in her skills. Hopefully it will go well.

Ami offers Robert a faint smile and nods in greeting. "Good afternoon. I'm glad you came," she says politely.

She stays in the water, just that little bit, lapping over her feet to her ankles now.

"Are you ready? You wanted instruction, wasn't that right?"

Gah, sorry I took so long, epic LJ failure >_o

"That is correct, Doctor Mizuno," Robert says, smiling a little more despite himself. "I, er, just need to change my clothing... it would be inefficient to attempt to swim with my lab coat." He glances down at the offending article almost sheepishly.

"... It may have been a more... prudent idea to have worn it under my clothing..."

"Ah, that's fine," Ami says, "But, I'm not sure where a good place to change will be." She cranes her neck to peer up and down the beachfront. "Anywhere with privacy..."

It's a good thing that professionalism is Robert's main concern. Well, that and the scars on his body. Otherwise he probably would've thought that stripping down here was fine.

"Are there beachside facilities of any sort? Even for a different purpose, such as weather sheltering or recreation?" Robert questions. He's only been to the beach once, a very long time ago, and it had been the middle of winter then.

It's still beautiful, though, and reminds him deeply of Terran oceans - of course they're very similar, albeit the water level might be lower - which sends a small pang of home-planet-sickness through him.

Robert's standing on the shore as much as she is and Ami doesn't quite feel she can direct him to go somewhere specific, so she only gestures around them, the shoreline back towards the land.

"Anywhere should be alright. Robert, can you swim?"

Still slow here. But at least not DEAD 8|

As a response, Robert shakes his head uncomfortably. "Don had been... trying to teach me, but I fear a single lesson would not be nearly enough information to... be satisfactory in this case. Especially since the lesson occurred in a lake..."

Still, Robert's not against trying. But for now, he has to pick somewhere to change that won't be hideously embarrassing for everybody involved.

"... Ah... may I be excused a moment to change, then?" Though the beach is fairly flat, there are a few rocky outcroppings from areas of the mountainous regions - certainly enough for a short, slender person to hide behind.
