[OPEN TO ALL] Swimming Lessons

Who: OPEN TO ALL interested
What: Swim Lessons: Stage 2
When: during the day into early evening (well before the coming event)
Where: at the ocean
Summary: The ocean part of the promised swim lessons!
Rating: G as far as I know. Maybe PG.

The water is relatively calm today, which makes it easier for lessons. Lucky~! It feels like any beach trip might.

Ami, clothed in shorts and a shirt over her bathing suit and wearing a whistle around her neck, wades just a short distance into the water so that it laps at her bared feet. She digs her toes deeper into the muck, unseen.

She has a few extra whistles for other instructors or helpers, and she looks over the group assembled. This is the first time she's really put herself forward like this, though she's confident in her skills. Hopefully it will go well.

(ooc: action tags, prose, anything is fine; threadjack to heart's content, pair up, random gawkers welcome as well as participants ♥)

"My brothers tried showing the butterfly stroke to me before, but it always seemed to take too much energy to really be worth it." Also, it's so much more complicated, what with the dolphin-kicking and double-arm-flailing.

here, have some more <3333

"Alright." Starting in a pool would definitely be easier. "Which stroke will we be doing first, then?"

oh definitely. 8D

"Mm, right. Shall we start now?"

"Don't leave me behind!" Lucy says, laughing, and she starts splashing into the waves as well, stopping to shiver briefly when the water gets to chest level.

Lucy does exactly that. She paddles out to meet Ami, every so often ducking under the waves and popping out again with a laugh.

"I will," she says, and she starts treading water as well. (Although it's so much fun to bob around with the waves!)

"Yes! And a free one at that."

A few minutes of contented bobbing later, Lucy suddenly remembers their original purpose. "We were going to be doing the breastroke, right?"

Lucy, on the other hand, is considerably less graceful. She usually manages to keep a steady pace, but the waves make her movements erratic--she still has some difficulties with arm/leg coordination.

Okay.

[Lucy deliberately slows down her arm and leg movements in order to better control them. She can do it slowly, it seems; just not when the motions are sped up.]

Yes. Though going faster is the difficult bit.
