Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

I'm not...sure yet. I will develop stronger abilities with time and practice, but I...haven't been here long enough to know if that is still true.

[Mia looks out at the water again.] I find that I cannot ignore people who return suffering. [She feels responsible. Because she has the means and the Psynergy to help them, and so why shouldn't she? ...And also because she might as well be programmed to always feel responsible.]

When they appear in the forest, or in town, and are so...so terribly injured, or confused, or...anything. I can't ignore it.

Well, that's good, isn't it? If you're around someone who needs help, it's good that you're helping them. Has that been happening to you a lot?

It is good. It is also why I have been so tired. I wouldn't say it happens often, but the injuries people have are always so serious.

Well, if it keeps happening instead of wearing yourself out, you could always just do your best to stabilize them and then call for help. It's never a good idea to heal too much so that you're unable to fight if you're walking around by yourself. Most people in Luceti are nice... but the ones that aren't really aren't.

[In a dire enough situation she would do that. ...Sometimes it's just hard. But this is two people now who have taken a chip out of the way she tends to act, and her eyes are fixed on the ocean now instead of Katara]

Ordinarily, my Psynergy returns quickly enough that I would not notice.

[Katara puts her hand on Mia's shoulder.]

These aren't normal circumstances. Everyone has to adapt. Maybe if you're here for a little while longer then you'll find a way to push at your limits and recover more quickly.

I have learned how far I should not go, now.

[Katara drops her hand.] That's good. It's a hard lesson to learn - especially when it feels like you should be able to do so much more.

[She looks up again when Katara moves her hand.

Maybe she's thinking about this the wrong way. Katara may very well be saying these things because she's been in this place before.]

You're welcome. I'm sorry that any of us have to be here at all, but it's good that you're adapting.

[She looks out to the sea.]

Yes. Though I did not grow up near any ocean I could really experience...I still feel connected to it.

I think it'd be hard not to. Among my people we have a saying, that water is what carried us, what birthed us, and what sustains us...

Especially if you're connected to it in another way.
