Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

(( OOC: Advertisements the party have been up since the start of the month, though poorly drawn by yours truly. Everyone's free to come, too! New Feather, or old. Feel free to start up your own threads~ ))

[Kain is so unused to not being in armor all the time, aside from times when he and Rydia go off to the mountains. But he's enduring feeling so very exposed, and also being around people, for her sake. More or less. While Rydia is off mingling is when he gets to work on his sand dragon...]

[...and once he's finished, he goes off to track her down so he can show it off to her. He's made it for her after all. Now, where would Rydia have gotten to? Kain scans the crowd.]

[Rydia is on her way to return, with glasses of lemonade. At least it's not too hard to pick her out in a crowd? There aren't too many with green hair around, after all.]

[Ah. There she is. Kain heads along toward her, catching up with her quickly enough. He mouths her name in greeting.]

[Rydia perks up and smiles, of course enjoying the view that he provides. She could ogle all day, if he let her.]

I didn't take too long, did I?

[He shakes his head, she really didn't. Besides, he was occupied. Kain indicates that he wants her to come along with him.]

I'm coming--here.

[He looks as though he could use the extra refreshment. She follows along, curious.]

[Kain mouths thanks for the drink, and then leads her along to the area where he's been intensely at work. It's not too far off. Before long, that large sand dragon comes into view. He's really gone all out with the details.]

[She pauses a few paces away, staring in wonder.]

...wow. Kain, this is amazing!

[She crouches down by it, inspecting the details with fascination and a growing smile.]

I didn't know you were such a gifted sand-artist.

[...Really? Kain looks surprised and pleased by her saying that, he spent a lot of time on it, with her in mind the whole time.]

['For you,' he mouths, then he writes up a reply. He'd tried some other things but they'd been disasters.]

I can only manage dragons.

[Rydia straightens, that smile lingering.]

I love it, Kain.

[And in thanks, giving him a passionate, lingering kiss right then and there.]

[Kain wraps his arms around her, getting right into that kiss. He's really glad that she's so happy about this. It means a lot. He doesn't... do these type of things often enough.]

[She grins upon drawing away just enough to breathe, when it's time.]

Thanks for joining me here today, Kain.

[She knows it isn't easy for him, given the amount of people.]

[Yes, there's a reason why he'd wanted to spend time alone while she was in the mingling mood. Though it works well for them both this way. Kain brushes aside some of her hair.]

I know it means a lot to you, for me to accompany you to places like this.

[She nods, that smile lingering.]

Of course it does. I always want you with me, here. It doesn't feel right unless we're together.

It doesn't... I know it would never be the same without you.

[He would be so much more of a hermit. Really, it's thanks to Rydia that he's gone to any of these events... probably a good thing even if he's not one to admit it.]

[She leans in for another kiss, though less air-depriving than the last. Some things are best reserved for when they're alone....]

Not that I'm saying you have to be with me all the time, but...you know what I mean.

[Yes, no going overboard in public...]

I understand. You need the company at times, though...

[They spend a lot of time doing their own things really often anyway, after all.]

[Rydia nods, not going to deny that.]

Of course.

[She eases a little enough away, so that she can urge them to sit beside his sand-creation.]

It doesn't seem to have done you ill to be here, anyway.

[Yes, there's some gentle teasing in that tone. It's nice to see Kain out and about in a social setting, at least once in a while.]

Not this time.

[Though mostly because he's been able to claim a nice uncrowded spot and not be terribly interrupted. Not by any annoyances anyway.]

[She nods, glad for it.]

Still, I'm under no obligation to be here for this event. Whenever we've had enough, we can always leave.

Good. For now... did you want to go into the water?

[That provokes a grin.]

Yes, I do...though I won't take us out of sight of the sand dragon, I promise.

[Kain nods approvingly, he's glad with this plan. Now to set aside writing stuff for the moment, leaving the dragon to guard it.]

[And with that, she takes him by the hand and leads him toward the water!]
