Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

[Maybe being the prime word there. Oh, and she'll float to the water as she follows Kurt before setting herself down, because who walks anywhere anymore?

Once Yuuka is there, she just stops and stares at the water, her feet only just being lapped by the waves.]

[He's almost knee deep in when he turns around.]

Of course not, the very thought of such a thing~

[Very slowly wading out into the water. Whoah. Whoah. This is pretty interesting, how cool the water feels on her legs. She's getting to you Kurt, give her a second...]

[bamfing]

... you've never been in the ocean, have you?

[It's kind of cool to think he's exposing her to something like this for the first time. His first trip to the beach was pretty awesome, he remembers that much.]

Dear me, am I really that transparent~? My world does not possess an ocean you see. We have the Misty Lake which serves as one of the only large bodies of water we have.

[The ocean is cool, and yet the air is warm. It's such an invigorating contrast. Well anyway she's made it over to you now Kurt, her legs equally submerged in water.]

[bamfing]

[A giant misty lake. Well, that's different.]

Well, in that case, what do you think so far?

You want my opinion? Well...

['It's disgusting' is what first comes to mind. After all, no matter how new and refreshing the experience is, she still isn't in her own world back in her own gardens. She really misses those gardens...

On the other hand, she would never have had an experience like this back in Gensokyo. Never ever. And the feeling itself isn't disgusting, rather just the whole atmosphere of being dragged off into some other world is what nags at her to say the ordeal is terrible.

However in the end she settles for something a little more positive, despite how she misses her gardens.]

It's certainly interesting. Very interesting.

[bamfing]

I ahh... take it you've had better?

[Well, nothing for it, then. Kurt is going to wade in a little deeper where they can actually start swimming.]

Let me know when it starts getting too deep, yeah?

I'm sure the first flower I ever grew was the best experience in the long time I have survived in this life, but my first step into the ocean blue is pretty high up the scale as well. I did say the experience is interesting, did I not?

[Going to keep following then. A small part of that smile on her face now might be because she's enjoying the experience more than she's letting on. A few more steps forward and it gets a little difficult to stand any longer without be knocked by the waves.]

I believe this is far enough for now~

[This is a girl who really takes flowering seriously. That's like, Batman villain type obsession there.

Once she's stopped, he'll do the same.]

Okay, let's try something easy, yeah? Let off your knees and try to keep above water with your arms, like this. [He does just that, sinking to about head level, but staying afloat with just his arms.]

[Oh please, Yuuka is the woman Poison Ivy wakes up every morning wanting to be.

She does just as she is instructed, sinking into the water. It takes her a moment to get the swing of it, but she's treading water fine before long.]

Perfect. I believe I have gotten the hang of it. It requires very little effort really, does it not~?

[bamfing]

[Not bad, she's a quick learner. Not that Kurt has any idea what to expect in this kind of situation.]

Great! Let's got a little deeper now, yeah? That way you can swim with your feet.

Very well, let us proceed.

[Right, so, how should she go about this? Moving forward, she parts the water with her arms and kicks her legs behind her. It basically looks like a rather clumsy breaststroke.

She wonders if anyone on the beach is watching them... If anyone laughs at her 'respectable' attempt at swimming she'll cover them in flowers. Poisonous flowers.]

[bamfing]

[Well, Kurt isn't laughing, at least! But once she's able to stay afloat on her own, he'll move on to other stuff. He doesn't expect her to get it all at once, though. Surfing obviously won't be coming today.]

[Slowly moving about in the water now, trying her best to refine whatever stroke it is she's trying to pull off, not that she knows any...

Everything seems to be going fine until her hand hits the water at an odd angle, sending sea water splashing into her face.]

Ah-- Ack! How terrible!

[And within a moment she's floating above the water, coughing a little and rubbing her eyes. This water stings and tastes weird... Well at least she knows for certain it's possible to float out of water now.]

[bamfing]

[That surprises him at first, then he ends up staring at her slightly amused.]

Is that enough for today?

[Like hell it is. She's going to lower herself back into the water slow, making sure her head is well away from the water.]

A little water cannot deter me. It merely caught me off guard.

do you want to handwave the rest of the lesson?

[bamfing]

Ahh, right, of course. [He says it a little teasingly, but then it's right back to business.] Okay, where were we?

We were about to swim out further, correct?

[Trying her best to keep her head far away from the foul tasting salt water, she continues swimming as Kurt guides her on what to do.]

[bamfing]

Ah, right, okay. Follow me.

[And thus Kurt continued to teach her in all manners of not drowning.]

[And not a single bit of drowning happened that day. After the lesson she returns to the beach and sits down on the sand.]

I must say, swimming requires a little more effort to it than flying. [Moving your arms and kicking your legs and stuff.] Regardless, it has been an enthralling experience all the same.

[bamfing]

[Kurt does more or less the same, only instead of sitting, he falls on his back. He'll get sand in his fur, but he'll rinse off later.]

Yeah, but still fun, yeah? Who knows, it might save you some day!

[Yuuka won't go as far as to say it were fun, however...] It was very interesting to learn something new. I certainly hope that being able to swim will be of use to me in future.

Well... we'd move on to surfing, but I am spent. [He just wants to lie here and bake for awhile.]

I see, how disappointing. Though I suppose it is a good tactic to take new experiences one at a time rather than rushing headlong into these sorts of things. If that is all for the day, I shall excuse myself to go get changed.

[If swimming time is over, there's no point in staying in that swimsuit for the rest of her time on the beach now, is there?]
