What:A long overdue dinner and a gathering of friends, new and old.
When: Early evening, Wednesday, September 14th
Where: CH 7, kitchen/dining area of floor 4 and maybe 5
Summary: A month ago, Ginia promised Giles, Frederic, and Helios dinner. Now that they're all finally back, and with new friends joining them, it's time to eat!
Rating: PG, PG-13ish if people want to get cuddly.

As discussed, no posting order due to all the people involved. First thread is cooking and set-up, second is for the actual dinner. If you want to do a specific thread (like Helios blowing something up), put any pertinant info in the subject. Timeline is roughly chronological, thread jump at will, and have fun! Prose or action tags are good.

Ginia sighs and takes the pot of risotto off the stove to let it set.

/Honestly, you two are not being reassuring at all. You could be nice and lie and say there was a great feast for everything and everything was happy and good./

"The one where I got turned into a dragon. The horror of not being able to fit inside the bakery. It was terrible let me tell you." He uses his fork to point at them.

"One of my greatest fears. Not being able to reach sweets." He is totally serious about this too guys.

"I didn't mind flying or breathing fire though. I learned rather a lot about dragons that's for sure." More than he would have ever have liked to.

"But! Ah. I-It wasn't too bad after, um, October. Christmas was...pleasant." Helios still doesn't manage to hide that frown. Giles had left after all.

"Christmas was very pleasant."

Said without missing much of a beat. Buffy had mentioned that, for once, the Malnosso had gone easy on them last year. It's part of what gives Giles hope that the same might hold true this year.

"Very nice. Catherine gave everyone gifts."

Ginia chuckles quietly as she checks on all her food. Christmas. The sort of holiday that creeps up on you with decorations and show and consumerism. It'd be nice having a nice Christmas, with friends. Ginia quietly hopes something like that can happen in Luceti.

/Christmas. What do you two want? Never too early to begin planning ahead./

Helios blinks at that holding up his hands and shaking his head. "You-you don't have to get me anything, Ginia. I think spending time with friends a-and family during the holidays is just as good as any present if not better." Mainly friends though because he hasn't had too many chances to spend it with family for the past few years. Hard to spend holidays with family when you're terrified of the only family member you have.

"Does that mean I have to give your present back, then? That's a shame. I was quite pleased with it."

Just a light nudge to the ribs, Helios, and a slightly teasing smile.

/I know, but I want to do something nice. You guys have been really nice to me, so.../ Her signs trail off as she thinks about what she could, quickly snapping her fingers as an idea comes to mind. /I know some great recipes for homemade fudge and pulled candy?/

Helios sways with that nudge smiling a bit more. "Hm. I don't know about that. It'd be rude of me not to accept it before even seeing it, since you've gotten it already. And I'm sure I would be as well." Just a smirk as he looks back at Giles.

Ginia's snapping gets his attention along with what she signs. "Oh? You do? I...ah w-well." He tries to conceal that intrigue and slight tinge of excitement.

"If you, if you wanted. Come to think of it...I usually got half my presents on my birthday and half on Christmas as it is." The joys of being born in December.

"When is your birthday, Helios?"

...seeing as how he was sent back three days before it, this was a matter they never got sorted last time around.

Yes, this is something of importance. Ginia looks expectantly at Helios, waiting for his answer.

...Don't think you'll get out of this one either, Giles.

"Ah! Oh. It's December fifteenth. I-I never told you?" Just a sheepish laugh. He's so positively absentminded sometimes. Helios gives Ginia and Giles a side glance. Helios never did find out Giles' either, huh. And of course there is Ginia's too.

"You do realize neither of you have told me yours. It's only fair, you know?" Just a smile.

"You never did. Seeing as how we've spent most of our time since I came back well away from December, though, I suppose you can be forgiven."

Then, without even missing a beat: "Yes, Ginia, why don't you tell us when your birthday is?"

December fifteenth, Ginia makes a mental note of the date and smiles. Birthday present and Christmas present to plan for. However, as the question is turned right onto her, Ginia frowns and gestures at him with her stirring spoon.

/You first./

"Well I'm grateful that you're so willing to forgive." Just a smirk. Helios nods at Giles.

"You're not getting out of this, you know. You might as well say it or I fear Ginia might not get a birthday present for the simple fact of never stating hers. And we just can't have that, can we?" He looks back at Ginia that smirk widening a little. He gives Giles a most expectant look. He'll be tapping a finger on the table as he does so.

Giles looks positively aghast at this. "Good Lord, there's no need to get nasty about it. I was just about to say."

...even so, there's some further hesitation, some further fussing with the plates, before he speaks again.

"May eleventh."

Well now. Ginia's smile becomes quite amused as she thinks over the date. Very interesting.

Though while she wasn't so eager to share her own birthday, it was one of those things she saw as pointless now, with the both of them having shared, what else could she do?

/May seventh./

Helios looks mildly amused and mildly apologetic. No you were not about to say Giles. He knows you weren't the hesitation is a sure sign of this.

"Both of you are in May. Hm." Helios pauses taking a sip of his wine and setting his cup down. Now to make two separate cakes or one very large one? This requires lots of thought and consideration so consideration Helios will take.

Yes, Helios, yes he was. You have no faith in him. But Giles is distracted from this indignity by Ginia's reply. He looks at her in evident surprise.

"...the seventh? Really?"

Ginia nods in confirmation, quite amused by things. It's the first time she's ever had a birthday so close to someone else's.

/Yes, I'm certain I was born on the seventh. The eleventh? Really?/

Suuure you were Giles.

"Funny how you two have close birthdays and are from completely different dimensions. Then again Luceti has quirks like that. I wonder which month has the most birthdays." It's a thought at least. Having a large party for multiple people might not be such a bad idea in the long run.

That is a very interesting question, Helios, and later Giles will think more on it. But not right now, because right now there is a more important question to be dealt with.

"One cake or two, then?"

That is an interesting question worth pondering, but Giles has a very important question to answer. Or at least divert.

/My birthday really isn't a big deal, there's no need to do anything on it or for it. Giles, what kind of cake do you want?/

There's an evident sigh from the headmaster. "You two. Honestly, I think one giant cake would be delicious. Two for the price of one as the saying goes. But it depends on your tastes. You can't have clashing flavors...and then there's the matter of frosting to consider." This is all very serious business, okay? Look at all these factors to consider!

"Oh, Helios, you don't have to worry about that. If Ginia doesn't want to bother with celebrating her birthday, I don't see why we should bother with mine."

Two can play dirty, Ginia.

And yet another odd odd reason why Ginia is so fond of him. She frowns, pouts even, before she smiles again.

/I think you're right, Helios. We do need a big cake. In fact, I think we should have a nice big party. I know, we should tell Grune. She could help out./
