Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?
Rating: Let's put this all over the board. Strange stuff can happen, man.
[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.

It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.

'course, there's also board games if you're interested in 'em. Just check out that corner over there!]

AW YES, GRUNE. ♥

He never saw the woman coming. Hubert yelps and stumbles forward out of surprise (or sheer terror) when a voice suddenly speaks up very close to him. Whipping around, he manages to calm his frazzled nerves enough to get a couple words of his own out.

"W-why . . . " Oh. "That's . . . I'm looking for someone, because we were separated." He slowly adds: "And I can't find him."

That should answer her question to his question. Right?

Grune blinks, a little surprised at such a large reaction. Oh, my, she hadn't meant to startle him. Especially since he seems to be having a little trouble.

"Why don't we go look for him, then?" she suggests, speaking gently so as not to scare him again.

She holds out her hand.

He finds himself taken back by the kind gesture, but ultimately comes to appreciate it as he reaches for her hand, slowly. It isn't as though he can do anything else. Perhaps it's due to the moment; she reminds him faintly of his mother, with the way her hair is done and the support she's providing. Hubert likes it.

"Um, thank you, Miss . . . "

Oh, that's right, she didn't introduce herself yet.

"My name is Grune! What's your name?"

[identity profile] outbranch.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm Hubert Lhant. My brother's name is Asbel." Since they're looking for him, it'd be a good starting point. And again -- "Thank you, Miss Grune."
lostinmyway: (Oh my isn't this lovely?)

[personal profile] lostinmyway 2011-11-25 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome!" She smiles at him again. "I'm sure we'll find him in no time."

It doesn't at all occur to her to ask Hubert what his brother looks like. Whoops?

[identity profile] outbranch.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
And it's very quickly into their search that he realizes this. Slowing his pace, he looks up at Grune.

"Do you want to know what he looks like?" he asks sheepishly, though the answer should be obvious. How are they supposed to look for him without knowing that Asbel is a child with this and that?
lostinmyway: (Hmm I wonder....)

At Hubert's suggestion, Grune gives him a puzzled look. Didn't he already tell her? Just in case her memory isn't right (which it isn't), she says, "Oh, that would be very nice. Thank you."

The puzzled look she shoots him sets off alarms in Hubert's mind. Was something wrong? Was it something he said? Swallowing, he answers, "He's a little taller with reddish brown hair. He's only a year older than me, so I think he'll stand out a bit . . . "

Especially with his attitude.

"Hmm.... All right."

Using her greatly superior height, Grune looks around. She doesn't see anyone like that nearby.... Maybe he went outside.

[identity profile] outbranch.livejournal.com 2011-11-27 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe we should start looking from another spot," he suggests after a while. Grune's height is a big advantage, but even that's not going to help them much if they just stand there.

"Oh, all right. That's a good idea."

Patiently, she waits for Hubert to lead her. Not a lot of people she knows let her decide where they're going next.

[identity profile] outbranch.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
. . . why are they not moving.

It eventually dawns on Hubert that she's waiting for him, so he tugs her toward the entrance. This way, they can at least spot Asbel if he even tries to leave without Hubert.

And Grune happily goes where she's tugged. That's more like it.

As they walk, she keeps an eye out for Hubert's brother, but since she's already forgotten what he looks like, it's not going to accomplish much.
