Who: Everyone!
What: Thanksgiving + New Feather party.
When: Evening of the 20th.
Where: School cafeteria, nicely done up.
Summary: There's food. And there's also board games, are you game for some Snakes and Ladders?

[Thanksgiving may not be a familiar holiday to most in Luceti, but everyone understands potluck, at least! Hopefully. Preferably.

It's all done buffet-style as usual. Thanksgiving stuff greets you first when you grab a plate and get in line at the buffet lines (food and drink provided by everyone, Thanksgiving stuff courtesy of the Welcome Centre and Ginia). Though of course, don't think that you have to stand in a line while eating! There's tables and chairs for sitting and talking and— eating, obviously. Reach out and grab a drink! If you get one that's been prepared by the Welcome Centre, it's non-alcoholic. Can't really say the same for anything else brought by others, so you may want to be careful. Y'know, just in case.

How are you this fine day?

I'm a little tired, actually! I spent a lot of today training at the Battle Dome because I haven't been able to go for a while. But I didn't want to miss out on this party.

I see. The Battle Dome? I have not heard much about that place. Do you train there often? What do you train in?

[All the small talk ever. Armstrong has it.]

I practice my kung fu and my lightning powers against opponents generated by the Battle Dome's computers. You can program a lot of different scenarios and environments to make training interesting! I go there as often as I can, especially now that it's getting cold and it's not as nice to practice outside.

That is very interesting. Though, I do wonder, what is 'kung-fu' and what do you mean by lightening powers?

[He also wonders what a computer is, but is sounds like the Battledome some sort of alchemy generated battlefield to him, which is fascinating.]

[Pao-lin's a little thrown by having to explain kung fu, but it's no big deal.]

Kung fu is a style of fighting from my world. You mostly learn to fight unarmed, but you can also learn to fight with all sorts of weapons, too. And my lightning powers...well, it means I can generate lightning, like this. [She holds up a hand, and her body and eyes glow blue briefly as she produces a couple of blue sparks.]

[There is probably a Xing-based equivalent of Kung-fu in Amestris. Which Armstrong probably knows, since he does know martial arts. 8D]

That sounds interesting. Is it a form of Martial art?

[Armstrong's eyes widen at the lightning Pao-lin produces before he leans in slightly, intrigued by it.]

Interesting. It is similar to the energy given off during alchemy but stronger. However, I assume is not alchemy, since there are no arrays or anything. So, it's a natural power you have?

Yup, kung fu is a martial art, just one of many from my world! My powers are because I'm a NEXT, or a "Noted Entity with eXtraordinary Talents". No one really knows yet exactly where the powers come from...they're just there in some people.

I know a little of martial arts, but I mainly use boxing and Alchemy to fight.

So, your power is inherent within you? That is very interesting!

Alchemy...I talked to someone a while back who mentioned that his world had alchemy. Maybe you know him? He said his name was Ling.
