Summary: The X-Men have decided to invite some of their buddies and pals (who all coincidentally have costumed alteregos) for some Turkey Day shenanigans.

Over the past week, the X-Men have invited a variety of their friends and contacts who they knew would celebrate Thanksgiving, but wouldn't have anyone to spend it with here in Luceti because they're all jaded loners. They were all instructed to try and bring a dish with them, but it was no requirement. Nevertheless, all the traditional foods would be present, along with some delicious extras.

ooc: Characters can interact out at the table eating, over on the couches, in the one of the two spare bedrooms, or preparing food in the kitchen. Or maybe catching some cool air outside on the porch. Whatever your fancy is! Also, prose or action brackets are cool. Pick your poison.

"Huh?" Oh, sorry bro. He was kind-of sort-of preoccupied with watching Storm's curves. Things have been kind of weird since the last experiment.

... Ororo has been in enough situations to tell when she's being watched. Currently, it's more of a vague awareness, but when she later figures out who's behind it...

She freezes for just a second, but carries on with the conversation she's holding smoothly. Better to try and keep things as normal as possible, she figured.

There's an embarrassed blush creeping up on her cheeks, though. Sigh.

Kurt follows where Robin was looking and glances over at Ororo. He catches her momentary look over at them. He shakes his head, somewhat amused. Although he kind of wonders what that's all about.

"I kind of think you're always doing it."

"I don't mean to creep you out or anything," he apologized sheepishly. It's just sort of always on, you know?"

It's not that surprising for Kurt. It comes with training. Even he gets that some days, thanks to his own training, even if it's not as extensive as Robin's. "Yeah, I know. You'll get there, man."

"I'm not usually around people who're bothered by it." If anything, his skulking is generally ignored by the titans at home. Maybe they're worried about getting evicted or something.

"There are a few people here who need special attention anyway." He nods pointedly in Gambit's direction. He understands why Melanie's hanging around, but Gambit makes two criminals too many.

Kurt takes note of Gambit and he certainly understands Robin's concern. Though it does just add up to the fact Robin has really been doing some serious talking. Robin needs a social life and fast.

"Yeah, we know. Trust me, we're all keeping an eye on him." A pause as he considers how seriously Robin is taking this. "Do you even know what he can do?"

Social lives are things that belong at home. It would just be a distraction here.

"Jubilee says he can 'blow stuff up'." So yes, quite seriously.

"That's just his power. There's more to him than just that." Like being an expert staff fighter that would give Robin a run for his money.

"Such as?"

"He can turn anything he touches into an energy bomb. Playing cards, rocks, even big stuff. And once he throws it at something, it explodes." Again. That's just his powers. "Besides that... he's a pretty good fighter too. He was able to keep me off him." And this was recently. Not the old Kurt who rarely got up and personal in a fight. "He uses a staff like yours."

"I'll look into it." Via stalking. Robin's assuming that this means he's got permission to follow Gambit around assessing his powers and style.

"You don't have to. We can handle him." He's their problem, after all. "Besides, Jubilee seems to like him."

"Jubilee likes him too much. She creates a weak link." When it comes to handling a threat, an X-problem is a Titan problem as far as Robin's concerned. Friends don't let friends fight alone.

Regardless of how he might feel about Gambit, you don't go dissing an X-Man. Even one from another world. "She's not a weak link. She's handled stuff bigger and crazier than we have." By we, he means his X-Men. He has no idea what crazy stuff Robin has gone through.

"I don't mean to say she's incapable or anything," Robin quickly backpedals. "But she's got a soft spot for the Gambit she knows. She doesn't want to accept that this one might be different. He can use her against the rest of you."

[bamfing]

"I know what you mean." This Jubilee seems a little more competent than the one back home. So far. "But I think she's smart enough to not let herself get used like that."

"Everyone's got a weak spot," Robin counters, unmoved. "If you were really interested in having her back, you'd look at the bigger picture. You don't have to threaten him. Just keep an eye out."

"I know, man. We're not new at this, yeah?" Though generally it's Scott and Logan who would be doing the watching. Despite all the training he's been put through, this is pretty new to him. He just doesn't want to admit it.

It's enough to make Robin chew on the side of his mouth to hold back the urge to say something that could potentially get him kicked out.

"Fine. But if you need backup..." He trails off deliberately.

"Yeah, don't worry, man. If we need you, I'll be sure to light the Robin signal." He kids. Though he wonders if Robin actually has one of those.

"I'll need to finish a communicator workup so we can stay in touch without relying on the journals. Parts are harder to come by here than I'd anticipated. [He'd start nicking bits and pieces from Stark's collection, but that's a can of worms that's staying closed.]

"I've had some successes with video equipment." It's required a lot of bubblegum, paperclips, and gutted materials from the item shop, but he's got something working at least. "It's just harder to work around wireless stuff without the usual help I have at home."

Sob, Cyborg would have helped him have this place bugged weeks ago.

"And asking the Malnosso is out, yeah?" He got a TV out of it. But Bil isn't offering anymore. And he suspects Robin wouldn't want to risk his bugged equipment being bugged.
