DRAFT LOG #2: The Battle Game!

Who: Everyone on the draft
What: Fighting bad guys!
When: Today (after 12PM) to the 19th, in the evening
Where: The Mining Facility
Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[ Day 1 ]

[After a cave-in separates her from from Sanji and Vivi, it takes her a while but she's able to eventually start trying to figure out a way back to the Processing area, though it's pretty slow progress. There are a few bruises and scrapes, but the most notable problem is her left arm, the lower half of which is hanging on a bit of an odd angle. She's trying to hold and protect it as best as she can, but it's painful and difficult.

Great. First day of the draft and she's already totally useless. Here's hoping she runs into someone friendly over unfriendly. Those who find her might see Thylos first, as cats eyes have that tendency to glow in dim light, and he's keeping a watch since Lindsay can't do as much right now.]

[ Day 2-3 ]

[For the first couple days after the cave in, Lindsay sticks close to the processing area. She'll help however she can, with food and helping people who are hurt, assuming she's not getting in the way. The rest of the time, she'll be trying to catch up on some rest herself, particularly on day 2]

[ Day 4-5 ]

[Now that the Third Party is starting to try to swarm the Processing Area properly, Lindsay's a lot more on edge, as the number of safe areas feels like it's decreasing quickly, and her left arm is still in a splint. If she wasn't by herself, she might take her chances with the caves but... not alone. Not with a broken arm.

She's still not much use in a fight, but she's managed to get her hands on another stave. Still, with things the way they are, and running chances are more than likely that she might appreciate a helping hand. Especially when she finds herself facing down three Third Party when she accidentally gets too close to one of the caves.]

[While she's stumbling along, Lindsay might hear the sound of ...what sounds kind of like a small outboard motor in the tunnels. She might know it's one of her fellow draftees, as Nami has been zipping around everywhere, or she might not. Either way, though, whoever it is seems to be coming in this direction. And slowing down some, too.]

[She's heard it once or twice, at a distance, but never this close, and she's not quite sure what it was. And it sounds like it's getting closer. She can't fight them if they're the Third Party - she lost her stave in the cave-in and even though the arm that broke isn't her dominant one, she's not sure she could do anything without it hurting even more.

There's no real points where she can hide either, so she does the best thing she can think of - she stumbles over and presses herself against the wall, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. It's not the greatest idea, and if whoever this might be is slowing down, they've probably already seen her.]

[She hasn't seen Lindsay; at least, not quite yet. But there was a report of another cave-in and Nami was on her way to check it out. She doesn't know how distant it is from here, and accidentally running into a wall of stone at high speed isn't her idea of fun, that's for sure.

The movement definitely gets her attention, and she skids to a stop on the waver (http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111102215749/onepiece/images/e/e4/Nami_waver.jpg), putting one foot down on the ground for balance and hand automatically going to her staff. She hasn't had a clear look, but she doubts the Third Party would try to hide in a bunch of shadows.]

...hello?

[That sounds like... well she has no idea what the Third Party would actually do (other than try to kill her), but she doesn't think that's them. Risking a glance behind her... they do look like someone from Luceti. She thinks. She turns slowly and stumbles forward a step or two, enough that she's out from her hiding spot, meager as it was.]

H-hey.

[...she lowers the climatact. And gives a huff of a smile. That arm doesn't look all that crash hot.]

Hey. S'okay, I have a faint suspicion I'm on your side. You want some help with that?

Y-yeah.

[Painful arm is painful. She takes another step or two, finally letting herself relax a little now that she's not by herself. After a moment she pauses though, turning and staring down the way she had come from.]

The others... there was a cave-in...

There's been a few today. Not many people used to fighting down here, I guess. [Acting like it's the most normal thing in the world. She's stooping down to fish the first aid kit from the bottom of the waver, and crosses to Lindsay.] How many others? Here, lemme help you sit down.

Maybe...

[A part of her is reluctant to sit down, given how much effort it felt like it took to stand up, but the other part of her is exhausted, and with Nami's help, she's sitting soon enough.]

Two... two others.

All right. I'm gonna get you back to camp, and then I'll come back. Wandering around out here with a broken arm's just asking for trouble. [She smiles, though; hardly as if she's blaming Lindsay for that.] Is it just the arm? You hurt anywhere else?

I... I don't think so. Just small stuff.

[There's a few scrapes and bruises here and there. The scrapes stung some, but enough that it probably wasn't that big a deal, and the bruises only hurt if you pushed on them, which was stupid to do anyway.]

Okay. As long as you're not bleeding out or anything. It'll be fine.

...though this is gonna hurt a bit, so sorry about that. I'm Nami. What's your name?

[She's just going to fashion a sling for that arm, in the meantime. A broken arm is something she could try to heal, but she might mess up and she should save it for more life threatening things anyway.]

I'm Lindsay.

[Lindsay grimaces a little. The warning was nice but she never was the biggest fan of when things got painful, and it's hard to really relax when you know more is coming, no matter how temporary. Though it hurts right now, too. And it's much better than being stuck trying to find her way back to the camp on her own.]

Th-thanks.

No problem. [Just don't mind her easing your arm into that sling.] What I'm gonna do is take you back to the barricade, and then I'll come back out here and help your friends.

[There's a small noise of pain as the break shifts a little bit as it's settled in the sling. At least some measure of survival instinct has kicked in by this point, and she knows better than to make too loud a sound.]

Okay... [The barricade? Man, she was lost...] It's not too far is it?

Not too far out. I'll take it slow-- the waver's not a real level ride. [Which is why she decided to splint before just going straight to the medical tent. >>] But if you sit on the back however's comfortable for you, I'll try not to make it too bad.

[All this and she hasn't asked who got separated from you, yet. |D Give her time.]

Right.

[Lindsay hasn't been sure how to bring it up yet - Sanji and Vivi - even when the topic has crossed her mind. She'll probably remember, at least, before Nami leaves to find them. Right now though, though, she's too busy trying to find a good spot to sit on the waver.

At last she feels secure - or at least secure enough to go, though there might be some hasty gripping of things and looks up.] Okay, I think I'm ready.

Gotcha.

[The waver has some kick to it when she first starts it up-- the whole thing lurches, which can't be very comfortable at all. Nami glances over her shoulder to see how Lindsay took it-- and make sure the girl didn't fall off or anything-- but she keeps her voice cheerful as she starts heading back to camp.]

I don't think I've seen you around Luceti before. You new?

[Thankfully she didn't fall off, though it was a near thing, which made her grip the nearest grip-able thing in panic. Once that part's over, her hands slowly loosen, and she risks a look around.]

A little... I got here in September.

Hah. Well, belated welcome. Sort of. This place kinda sucks-- you've probably worked this out by now. [She's going at half speed to make the ride less of a jolt, raising her voice to be heard over the waver.] Do you have much experience with magic?

[Yeah, Luceti does suck. As if the homesickness and getting kidnapped wasn't enough, now there was the draft which she was already sucking in. And what about the others?

At the second question though makes her startle a bit, though unless Nami's looking back, she might not catch it. Lindsay does look back up over her shoulder though. It's a few seconds before she replies.]

Y-yeah. [Wait no, louder. Nami probably can't hear her.] Yeah. Sort of.

[Best way to call her experience with magic was a crash course.]

[She doesn't have the luxury to keep looking at Lindsay, taking the waver through the mines, so she misses it. |D But she's still being cheerful as hell, because...uh. Lindsay doesn't sound so good, honestly. She's betting on shock.] That's good! There's probably people at camp who can heal your arm for you, if you want it. A lot of our medical people have learned from Nala back in the village.

[Heck, Nami'd do it herself, but she'd rather someone more expert actually set the arm first. She's got bad experiences with badly set bones.]

[Nala. That catches her attention, a little. Giles had been trying to give her a crash course in pacting with Nala... just yesterday. In preparation for the draft. She hadn't gotten that far, though. Not enough to help, for sure. It reminded her a little too much in some ways of using magic, even though she hadn't been able to heal, back when she'd actually still had hers.]

Okay... [Unfortunately that's a little bit quieter, but still loud enough to be audible over the waver. She is feeling a little dazed and out of it. Despite that particular feeling, she turns her head a little to look out in front of them. It seemed to be getting a little lighter ahead. Did that mean they were getting close?]

[They are. Nami slows down even more as they reach the barricade, coming to a stop just at the edge of the encampment.]

I'll get you to Raine, and then I'll go back. Do you know who was trapped?

[So that's relief twofold for Lindsay - that they're there, where it's hopefully safer if that's where they're helping people who've been injured and hurt, and that Nami would be going back for the others, now. She looks down a little and bites her lip worriedly]

Y-yeah. Their names were Sanji and Vivi.

[She doesn't know who knows who - has no idea, though she figures with Sanji running Seventh Heaven Nami probably knows him at least...]
