DRAFT LOG #2: The Battle Game!

Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[Leonhardt is mostly set to help out with the defensive forces, though from time to time he will go further afield, not that anyone will be able to tell because he's always at the base.

In fact, sometimes there is more than one of him. Kinda creepy, right? That and his sheer lack of hesitation in killing the enemy too.

But anyway, feel free to run into him anywhere, he really can be about anywhere since there will be more than one of him thanks to his abilities. Need some help fighting? Need a rescue? Any non-combatants need help?]

[When we last left off, after the two not-brothers escorted Caesar to the Underground City, the trio were on their way back to the Processing Area when they were ambushed by a group of Third Party elites. Since they're close enough to their destination by now, Caesar got to go ahead, accompanied by one of Leonhardt's shadows...

...but that means the two remaining still need to deal with the five elites on their own unless reinforcements should up. But that shouldn't be too difficult, right? It's not as if they haven't dealt with groups of enemies in the past, even if these are a bit different from the people back at home.]

[Cecil is relatively lucky. he found himself a nice, defensible corner in one of the mines, and defend it he does. His days spent examining everything available in the shops were not wasted; he's found himself a Sleep Blade, amongst other enchanted weapons, and he's not afraid to use it.

Of course, spells cast from items do not offer quite the same control as natural magic. Please do not worry too much if his Sleep, Poison or Flood hits you. He can heal that, and he'll even add in a few protection spell for free.]

[In a spectacular case of bad timing, Rydia's ribbon slips off as she's busy casting Bio on their enemies. Without the ribbon's protection, Cecil's item his her...and she crumples to the ground, asleep. GOOD GOING, CECIL.]

[Later on in the day, Rogue and Kurt will have gained (another) tail. As promised - sketchy wording aside - he's keeping an eye out for his fellow mutants. It probably isn't all that noticeable at first, since Gambit is pretty good at keeping himself hidden if he doesn't want to be known, but eventually, he can't keep the Third Party quiet anymore.

Watching the backs of the two X-Men hasn't been too terrible for the most part, but now he's gotten into a tight enough corner that he needs to charge up his bo to knock his attacker back. The scuffle is easily ruining the stealthy surveillance he's managed so far.

Not that he needs any help, but the fight might sound a little worse than it is if it's echoing up the tunnel.]

15th-16th

[Pao-lin's out there getting down and dirty with the rest of the offensive forces. She can be found in any area of the mine, usually distinguishable by her neon blue lightning attacks and her nimble, flowing acrobatics as she weaves around enemies, striking to disable them or knock them unconscious before hopefully tagging them. If she's in a more open area, you'll find her using her Hero staff, but in closer quarters she'll have switched to her butterfly knives, her nunchaku, or just her bare hands (well, okay, she's got gloves on and is also sporting her brass knuckles).

Also, she may possibly suddenly swoop into one of your fights and take out that Third Party jerk you were tussling with. It's not kill-stealing, dammit -- it's kill-assisting.]

17th-18th

[Suddenly, Third Party soldiers! Hundreds(?) of them!

As a result of this, Pao-lin's more protective instincts kick in, and she'll hang back near the Processing Area in order to protect the noncombatants there. However, once the initial wave dies down and perhaps someone else can take up her slack back at home base, you can run into her in the other areas of the mine doing her usual thing.]

19th

[She's agreed to escort Caesar for a brief exploration of the Underground City, with the added assistance of Wild Tiger, but whether it'll actually be brief is another story. It certainly won't be uneventful.]

[In the afternoon, Caesar is in the Processing Area taking care of his usual duties. He's already had a chance to check things out briefly in the morning, but now that he knows what to expect, he's a little better prepared this time around. He waits outside of the buildings here for Pao-lin and her friend. He's hoping for a more thorough exploration of this Underground City.]

1st Day - Locked to Vivi, Sanji, and Lindsay

[The mission has barely even started, and already Sanji's a volatile pile of nerves - the exact reason for this being the return of a nakama at the most inopportune of times. As happy as he is to have Vivi with them again, and not laid out on some medical table being prodded at like a shitty animal, this isn't how he imagined the reunion - surviving underground long enough to be sent back to the village.

But she's here now, informed of the situation, trailing beside him, and that's all there is to it. The chef doesn't spend long wallowing in self-indulged pity. Instead, he keeps his senses alert for any approachers as they make their way down a dimly lit path. They've been lucky so far - and by virtue of being Straw Hats, that won't last.]

1st Day - Locked to Vivi, Sanji, and Lindsay

[Vivi can sense the tension in Sanji, and she knows she's probably the reason for some of it. She supposes she can't blame him; if positions were reversed, she might feel much the same. Still, she thinks she's nearly recovered from the Malnosso drugs lingering in her system, and she's making an extra effort to appear unaffected, so as not to worry him further. The cool metal ring of one of her Peacock Slasher reassures her as she touches it with her fingertips--she hasn't kept up her practice with the weapons as well as she might have after Crocodile was defeated, but she's still confident in her skill with them.]

[The silence between the two of them adds to the disconcerting environment, but now is hardly the time for casual conversation. Vivi strains her ears, listening for any sign of approaching danger, especially as the path directly ahead narrows and makes a sharp turn. No matter what lies ahead, they have no way to see it from here.]

[Dimly, she thinks she hears something in the distance, though the acoustics of the passage make it hard to judge--footsteps? Vivi shoots a pointed look at Sanji: did you hear that?]

Any Day

[Ling came prepared. Though he passed on bombs, he's loaded himself up with smoke bombs, flash bombs, tear gas, some kunai, and some other goodies. But for the most part, his dao blade is all he needs. With his ki sensing, it isn't difficult for him to tell where there are large concentrations of enemy ahead. So he'll often be scouting behind (most likely with Ran Fan tailing him in her own shadowy ninja way). He'll only take on groups small enough for him to handle alone. Otherwise he'll wait for backup.

If he does get caught up in a fight, expect to see him doing so in high and dangerous places, such as some of the old tracks up in the depleted mines. He isn't above giving his goes a few cuts and clipping their wings a bit before he tags them.]

Any Evening

[Night time is pretty relative underground, but whenever it's time to return to camp, he'll spend a lot of time outside, keeping warm next to a fire. Having a warm source of light for once is rather nice, actually. But despite the bloodshed, he seems to be able to keep himself in good spirits. At least when people are watching. For the most part, he'll spend his time out of battle eating inordinately large amounts of food.]

Day 3

[Freaking out was an understatement. Ran Fan was losing it. She felt like such a failure for losing her prince once again, but she was going to find him and make sure he was alright. Nothing was going to happen to him, he was fine- or at least that's what she told herself.

Then FINALLY she saw Ling, tears rushing to her eyes.]

[It didn't take Leo long at all to readjust to fighting underground. Moving through, and using, the shadows to his own advantage. Keeping his senses alert and using chi reading when he can to find out if anyone is around corners or something. The scanner was odd, but he's used to carrying things into battle that aren't necessarily weapons.

The fighting itself, he doesn't hold back on, whether it's silently from the shadows, or out in the light. He won't be killing them all though, he will be scanning some.]

[Leo can most likely be found around a campfire, doing his best to stay warm and or eating. He might also be writing down battle plans for the next 'day', or his own observations of battle so far.]

[Eggman's outfitted himself fairly well this time around. He has eggpod mecha (http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z344/mephrp/DrEggman.png) which he'll fly about in, as well as a pistol or two along with his tools on his belt. He mech itself has a couple of attachments, although they're kept fairly compact in order to accommodate the small tunnel space. Two boxing gloves that can lunge forwards with the touch of a button, as well as a small laser and a couple of missiles packed for emergencies.

Below is detailed specific locations Eggman will be at certain times, but feel free to run into him anywhere anytime.]

[Days 1 and 2]

[Eggman will just be flitting around between chambers in his pod, taking on any soldiers he encounters on the way. He's mostly scouting around and might even be helpful enough to report enemy positions to the others if he can be bothered.]

[Day 3 & 4]

[On day three, after the barrier has been breached, Eggman will either be helping fight back the assault or be past the front lines, attacking the Third Party in their city.

On day four, a distress signal will come across the radio for anyone who has one, as follows:]

As much as I hate to ask for help, my mech is disabled and I'm surrounded by these pests! [Following it, he describes the approximate location inside the city (or elsewhere if you want).]

[Eggman isn't exactly the type of guy to be a night watchman, so every night he can, he'll be back at base sleeping with his mecha (http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z344/mephrp/DrEggman.png) disabled nearby outside. It's protected against anyone but Eggman starting the engine but is also fitted with a car-style alarm if it's touched. Feel free to wake Eggman and everyone up with that while he's asleep. When he's not sleeping, he'll be taking breaks in the evening to eat and laze around, feel free to bump into him then too.]

Day 1, Evening

[Hermana's pretty tired from her first day of fighting, but with so much excitement she isn't about to let herself go to sleep just yet, but with nothing to do she might as well take it easy at least.

So she's back at base, but before she goes in she's gonna loiter around outside and just watch anybody who goes by and it just so happens that she's standing next to Eggman's machine.

So really it was only a matter of time until she ended up leaning against it.]

[Days 1-4]

[For the first few days, Raine will be tagging along with the offensive groups. She has a radio, in case she's called for any immediate emergencies, but whomever she ends up following will be guaranteed support.

She's also carrying more supplies than the standard first aid kit, if anyone finds that they're growing low. As usual she has her staff, but she's wary of casting her offensive magic spells given the uncertainness of that mine's stability in places. Granted this may keep her from being able to defend herself properly, especially if the teams come into contact with Shifters or Shift Hunters. Hopefully someone will be near enough to defend her should a situation turn messy.

She'll also be taking notes of the area should there be points of non-fighting, and trying to get as many details as possible. The city is a point of interest, but she won't be heading out there alone, only accompanying those who might in a group.

During the evenings, not that it's easy to tell what time of day it is, she'll try to head back to the defended area, particularly once the Processing area gets hit. She'll likely be there during the rest of the third and to the afternoon of fourth day, until she's needed somewhere else.]

[Days 4-5]

[The latter few days will be more rough and critical -- and she may not be as available as she was on the first few days. Particularly after getting caught in a nasty cavein at some point, so responses from her will be limited.]

Day 5

[It's no secret that by this time, everyone is exhausted. No matter how much sleep you get in one of these drafts, it's never enough, or restful enough. It's dragging on Sheena, too, and it shows in her movements and a few poor decisions.

Like when she misses the Third Party she's aiming for, and Demon Seals the wall instead. The tunnel here is narrow, so it's not too much of a misfire, but the walls are also unstable.

It's not the best idea to take her eyes off of her opponent to check on how Raine's doing, either.]

[15th - 18th]
[For most of the draft, Caesar will be hanging out in the Processing Area. He's around if people need to report anything, and otherwise, his time is spent making sure that everyone is keeping up with their responsibilities (http://lucetiooc.livejournal.com/1903279.html). As long as you're around the base and not sleeping, you can expect Caesar to poke his head in and see how you're doing. As a strategist, it's his responsibility to make sure that everyone, combatant or noncombatant, is doing okay!]

[On the last day, however, Caesar's presence in the Processing Area will be sporadic. That's because he'll be heading out to do some exploring of the Underground City. Catch him before he leaves, or heck, join him on his little exploration.]

[Bright and early in the day after catching a few hours of sleep, Leonhardt is out and about and also having a very quick meal. He's been debating on going and finding Joshua and heading out towards the underground city as well, so he'd definitely be a good one to talk to about serving as an escort.]

[ Days 1 - 4 ]

[ Starscream is mainly going to be staying in the Processing area for most of the days on this ridiculous mission. He isn't a servant here to clean up the messes of a clearly incompetent group the Malnosso seem to be. So, yeah, his size isn't the best for such places either and he rather not get stuck and have to ask you fleshings for help. He will fight, with much mirth, when the time arises mainly when the barrier is breached. Otherwise? He's gonna let you humans, and whatever else you things are, do the work. If he doesn't have to he most certainly won't get his claws dirty. He's not the most sociable of bots so you best have good reason to talk to him. His mood is generally the same for everything, indignant. He absolutely despises caves because his last time spent in one he was caved in on and spent a good portion of the time holding up a cavern ceiling so he wasn't offlined by it crushing him.

Stay out of his way and he might not accidentally step on you. He is clearly not a team player if you can imagine. He's also really obnoxious too bad no one on this mission was forewarned of this first.

And Somehow he'll cause a cave-in due to a certain red breegull being generally annoying. They obviously should not have been left alone together at all. ]

[ Day 5 ]

[ Giant robot exploring the underground city because he does what he wants! He might get into a pickle or not who knows. ]

Day 4? Maybe?

But the annoying part? That's still true.

Tensions are rising as the fighting escalates, and Kazooie is not happy at all. Seeing Starscream doesn't make her temper subside any less.]

[Day 1]

[Gambit is spending part of the day going around on his own, taking out what he can with explosive cards. The cards are really only getting used when he has a clear shot at the Third Party soldiers; even Gambit can be cautious about explosives in a mine.

The other part of the day will be after he joins up with Team Mutant. Feel free to run into him wherever!]

[Days 3 - 5]

[Whenever, wherever. Free for all? He may be a little banged up from a cave-in on Day 2, but that's no cause for worry, right?]

[Day 1-3]

[The first few days are very simple. Sayo's managed to keep herself occupied with an assortment of different tasks. Anyone in the Processing Area? She'll be there to help! If you have any minor lacerations or injuries, she'll be in the tent, ready to help clean and wrap your injuries properly. By the end of the day, her water basin has been rinsed out quite a few times.

She's also cooking simple meals for anyone who comes to her, while she's got the food prepared. After a few hours she'll appear with a smile and hold up plates of said food.]

Who's hungry? I have plates ready...!

[Barrier Breach on Day Three // First part Locked to Tony]

[This is where there are problems. The barrier breached, there's little time to focus on anything other than staying out of the way; the front lines are keeping them at bay well enough, but sometimes... Sometimes there's a few third party people who manage to snake their way through. Sayo finds it all too clear when she drops her knife, now covered in blood, and watches in frozen terror as the winged woman she's stabbed falls to her knees.

'I just—stabbed—'

W-well, she's not dead. She can—she can do something—

Or rather, she would have, but she's suddenly shoved back by a second warrior swooping in; a tall, built man, who wastes no time in jutting out his spear and pinning her violently to the ground by the shoulder. She cries out, and suddenly the determination she'd felt before is entirely overshadowed by pain. All she can do his squirm frantically at the blood dripping from the burrowed spear. It's sawed into her wing. She feels the bone splintered between the spearhead, a mess of nerves.

She's never felt this sort of pain before.]




[Once she's in the medical area, anyone who's working in the area is welcome to help heal the injury to her shoulder; she'll be conscious, at least, if anyone comes in to check on her after she's gotten settled down and healed. But she's so very confused. Mainly because she was unconscious for a few hours, and that's so very rare for her.

Since she never sleeps. She looks around blearily, exhausted.]

[One who's capable of seeing mushi might see a strange shadow crawl across her sheets, but they die just seconds later, unsupported by this world. They're nothing to fear. :|b]

15th-17th

[Kain HATES enclosed spaces. His entire battle strategy, his entire life's training is dedicated to combat in the air. So this is far from ideal. Still, he manages to hold his own well enough to get by. It probably helps that he once spent a few months without jumping, he'd learned to adapt then and much as he loathes it he'll do the same now.]

[But despite that, being in caves still puts him at a major disadvantage so even on day one he's going to end up overwhelmed by the enemy. He won't ASK for help, but he'll sure look like he needs it more often than not.]

18th-19th

[CAVE IN!!!!!!!!!]

[Kain is injured and stuck in an enclosed space for the better part of the day, along with anyone else who happens to be nearby. At first he can deal with it, but a quiet panic starts in him deep down. The more time that goes by the worse it's starting to feel. Like the walls are closing in on him. He belongs to the sky, and being trapped like this is really messing him up. He usually is ok enough with caves but it's different when there seems to be no escape.]

[Of course Kain being Kain won't reveal this problem so easily...]

18th

[Rydia frowns as she peers around the area.]

Did you hear that?

[No sooner than she has spoken does the rumbling grow louder, causing her to stumble. She automatically grabs at Kain, trying not to lose her balance. Staring upward in horror as the earth begins raining down all around them, Rydia tries to cast Warp before it's too late...but a rock strikes her head, and she loses consciousness before the spell has a chance to complete.]

[Vash will be going from place to place. Picking out Third Party Members when he can, but he's not killing anyone or is he tagging them. He knows these people are out to kill him, but he just doesn't trust the Malnosso to want to hand them over either.

What he really wants is a way out. So when he's not fighting expect to find him testing the stability of areas or perhaps even attempting some halfhearted digging.]

AT SOME POINT!

[At some point though Vash runs into a bit of a problem. He's chasing down a pesky Third Party when he rounds a corner and is that - is that dynamite!? Oh shi-]

AH! No! Wait! Please! Don't do that! [He makes a valiant attempt to rush over and take it out of his hand, but it's too late! The wick is lit! And-

BANG!

Quickly Vash uses his hand gun to shoot out the fuse. He's just about to let out the breath he was holding when he hears a small hissing sound. Apparently that had been a decoy as there's also a trail of gunpowder light headed over to that pile of-]

OH CRAP!

[The small piles explodes and the small tunnel starts to cave in as Vash rushes forward to cart the Third Party Member out and away from the collapsing walls. Anyone is welcome to be caught up in the blast!]

Even later!

[At some point once the barricade has been breached Vash will get back towards the tick of things to help protect anyone he can. ANYONE. Be they Lucetians or Third Party. (Note - he will not save a Third Party member if doing so hurts your character) He's still not killing and he's still not tagging. People are more than welcome to come discuss that with him during battle or down time. Also are welcome to notice that during this acts he's not always getting out scotch free.

[One of these days, Eggman will be hovering some distance away from Vash. He'd spotted Vash in the mines and wondered what the fellow was up to. He's not doing a lot of ass-kicking, that's for sure.

At some point, while Vash is engaged in some kind of struggle with a Third Party soldier, Eggman decides to spring into action to aid the guy. He's obviously losing after all.

Quickly piloting his eggmobile into range, Eggman fires a laser beam in the direction of the Party goon's wings to help his good friend out.] Take this!

[Nami's on scouting duty for this draft and trying to avoid fights as much as possible. That doesn't mean she won't happily plow her way into one if she comes across one where draftees need assistance, and that certainly doesn't mean the fights won't find her-- the waver isn't particularly quiet, and she doesn't particularly care, sacrificing stealth for speed.

In most cases. If there is a need for stealth she'll either walk the damn waver or bend sound away from her with extensive use of Kipinn's magic.

On the first day, she's focused on scouting out the place and listening for reports of cave-ins from base so that she can indulge in search and rescue.

From the second day onward, she's switched completely to search and rescue, because Sanji and Vivi never came back to base. She trusts Sanji to look after the two of them, and Vivi's no idiot either, but that doesn't stop Nami searching for them. Well past the time when she should really be returning to base. As the days go past, she looks more and more worried, more tired, and is far more prone to be reckless. Damn it, you two.

On the third night, she'll be back in base proper because Sayo got badly hurt, so she'll be in the medical area keeping her company and helping with various injuries. Someone please convince her to get some proper sleep. ._.

On the fourth day her tired carelessness in using filial magic is going to lead her straight into an ambush of shift hunters. IT'S OKAY, SHE'S GOT THIS. REALLY. Though a little help might be kinda nice. >>

On the fifth day, she's still around in the early part of it-- but once Sanji and Vivi are found, she's back in camp with the both of them and not leaving for anything. And probably falling asleep...right...there. 8|

First Day

Day 1-2
[Fuuko is keeping herself in and around the Processing Area and doesn't dare tread out into the tunnels. She was told to stay back and she intends to do just that. She spends most of her day just helping out with the cooking.

When not cooking, Fuuko will be keeping an eye out for anyone returning to the Processing Area who might be injured. She isn't a healer and lacks first aid training, however she is more than willing to help anyone inside until help arrives.]

Day 3
[How horrible, they're getting closer and closer. Fuuko watches as Third Party members start leaking into the Processing Area from the Barricade. Deciding to escape quickly, Fuuko flees from where she was staying and runs for her life, eventually discovering a mine cart. Clambering inside, Fuuko grabs the lever inside the cart without thinking and hurtles off into the mines.

...A minute or so later, Fuuko finds herself far away from the Processing Area, still inside the mine cart which was now traveling at a much slower pace. Poking her head of the cart slowly and taking a quick look around before vanishing back inside. Feel free to approach the mine cart and help the scared little starfish back to safety.]

Day 4-5
[She wants to go home. Really badly. There are times when Fuuko can be found in the Processing Area just sitting in one of the buildings and carving starfish with the craft knife she brought with her. It's helping to take her mind off of everything that's happened.

When not carving some more wooden sculptures, Fuuko will be back to cooking and helping anyone tired or injured back inside. She did say she would do her absolute best after all. By this point she seems pretty tired out from all the work.]

[Day 1]

[Yui is also hanging around the Processing Area, too apprehensive to consider leaving the area. She had a book on hand that was on general first aid tips. She knew what had to do, but it didn't hurt to freshen up while she was on standby.

If you're close enough to her, you can probably hear her reciting instructions in the book]

A slow pulse rate, or bluish fingertips or toes, signal a bandage may be impeding circulation...oh, that would be terrible.

[By now, this is just regular draft procedure to him. Fight them, don't get hurt, make sure not to kill (because he just can't bring himself to do that, and killing is less effective anyway) yada yada. At least he can tag them with the scanners...however they work. Which by the way, he is not using. Herp. Of course, anyone needing help (or help finding their way back, thanks to Insight) will be helped on the spot.

At regular intervals, Amiti will also be helping out in the medical area. Ply fixes everything, man.]

[4th day I guess, chu]

[In one of the narrower, darker side tunnels, Pao-lin collapses against a wall, breathing heavily and frustrated almost to the point of tears. She'd gotten careless in one of her skirmishes, and a Third Party soldier had managed to score gashes on one of her arms and on her right side. It doesn't seem to be fatal, as far as she can tell, but the pain is enough to make her head spin and tire her out more than she already is. She can't even remember what direction the Processing Area is in right now.

After a few moments of trying to pull herself together and mostly failing, Pao-lin reaches into one of her pants pockets and pulls out some cotton pads and gauze to wrap her wounds. She hasn't done this much before, but she doesn't have a choice now but to try. There's no telling when she'll run into another soldier or two...or ten...and it'd be for the better if she weren't bleeding all over the place.

Stupid, she berates herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid.]

15th and 16th

His medical supplies all fit into two bags. Or, rather, two boxes. One contains his medicines (http://www.hsl.virginia.edu/historical/medical_history/lewis_clark/assets/medicine_chest.jpg) and the other holds his instruments (http://cdn.medgadget.com/img/unboxing5.jpg).

He also has a 'sword breaker' dagger (http://www.knightsedge.com/images/Product/medium/swordbreaker-dagger-2206.jpg) and rapier (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TzHPIcYqPuc/TM8ZZBbwMyI/AAAAAAAANXI/6kYUxam1rUo/s1600/french+rapier+sword.jpg), one on each hip. Tucked under his shirt, against his breast, is a silver crucifix he found in the item shop a few hours before he left the town.]

December 15th

[Stephen is mostly getting a lay of the land on this day, wandering off the lit path into natural caves to study the rock formations, fungi, pools of water, and anything that catches his eye.

...Yeah, the geek doesn't look like he stands much chance, even armed as he is.]

December 16th

[The blades are out as Stephen finally meets members of the Third Party in the field.

You know the kind hearted doctor who patches people up? Gone. His pale eyes are almost ice now, and every movement of the blades is chosen for maximum damage, effectively running enemies through, slitting throats and slicing wings with no hint of mercy or remorse.]

[ it's...very early morning on the 16th and buffy hears footsteps ahead of her. in the dark, it's hard to tell if -- is it? enemy or friend? ]

H-hello? [ she calls out; unafraid to alert them, whoever they are. ]

[So... it's a tunnel. A series of miserable, dark, constraining tunnels. The feeling Zack gets from these tunnels is all too familiar, much as he struggles to push it from his mind; it's hard not to forget being trapped in a basement for four years, and the smell - from when he could smell anything besides mako - is unforgettable. That kind of thing doesn't leave you.

Thus, Zack will be pointledly more serious and - jumpy, even, during his time in the tunnels. He'll try to fake it, but it's harder than it seems with so much rock working to trap him in any given place.

However, it's not going to slow him down much once the fighting starts; equipped with a Lightning materia, thanks to the Malnosso's hotel, he'll be zapping the Third Party right out of commission for tagging.]

[Fuuko pokes her head out of the mine cart she is slowly trundling around the tunnels in, trying to spot anyone she might know. She doesn't want to be out here and would much rather be back in the Processing Area.

A low rumbling noise can be heard as the cart approaches and passes by Zack. Only once it has passed does Fuuko pop out and look around again. Seems as though she just missed him!]

[ Day 1 ]

[After a cave-in separates her from from Sanji and Vivi, it takes her a while but she's able to eventually start trying to figure out a way back to the Processing area, though it's pretty slow progress. There are a few bruises and scrapes, but the most notable problem is her left arm, the lower half of which is hanging on a bit of an odd angle. She's trying to hold and protect it as best as she can, but it's painful and difficult.

Great. First day of the draft and she's already totally useless. Here's hoping she runs into someone friendly over unfriendly. Those who find her might see Thylos first, as cats eyes have that tendency to glow in dim light, and he's keeping a watch since Lindsay can't do as much right now.]

[ Day 2-3 ]

[For the first couple days after the cave in, Lindsay sticks close to the processing area. She'll help however she can, with food and helping people who are hurt, assuming she's not getting in the way. The rest of the time, she'll be trying to catch up on some rest herself, particularly on day 2]

[ Day 4-5 ]

[Now that the Third Party is starting to try to swarm the Processing Area properly, Lindsay's a lot more on edge, as the number of safe areas feels like it's decreasing quickly, and her left arm is still in a splint. If she wasn't by herself, she might take her chances with the caves but... not alone. Not with a broken arm.

She's still not much use in a fight, but she's managed to get her hands on another stave. Still, with things the way they are, and running chances are more than likely that she might appreciate a helping hand. Especially when she finds herself facing down three Third Party when she accidentally gets too close to one of the caves.]

[While she's stumbling along, Lindsay might hear the sound of ...what sounds kind of like a small outboard motor in the tunnels. She might know it's one of her fellow draftees, as Nami has been zipping around everywhere, or she might not. Either way, though, whoever it is seems to be coming in this direction. And slowing down some, too.]

[For the most part, Asch is all over the place, doing search and rescue in the tunnels in case of cave-ins, tracking down the Third Party members and either taking them down himself or leading them to allies to coordinate an attack. He'll do alright for the first few days, though as time passes, he's starting to feel the toll of the near-constant fighting. His focus will be fonic artes and sneak attacks from the shadows, but that really depends on his company.

At some point during the last day or so, however, things won't go so well- a chance meeting with someone might just involve an uncomfortable cave-in and some injuries he really could have gone without. (Is that someone you? WELL. Who knows.)

[ buffy is between battles. she snaps her journal shut -- evidentially she had been writing something. writing to someone. this is when she looks up and sees a flicker of long red hair...but -- but hadn't smoker said that grell was gone?

mistaking the identity of this someone entirely, she stiffens. tucks her journal away and swings her axe gently into position. ]

[Downtime at Basecamp / All the Days]

[It's hard to keep regular hours but at "night" or whenever the rest of the team treks back for some rest Melaka will be there to rest. During her downtime she's mostly just sleeping, but she's also be eating a lot of meat as well to keep her protein up. Generally looking surly, but she actually seems to be getting in a better mood as the draft goes on, particularly after day four.]

[ things start out not too far from basecamp but buffy knows what's up. she taps the girl on the shoulder -- an unsubtle interpolation. the scythe glints red on her shoulder and she nods deeper into the cavernous structure.

[A sudden flicker of awareness jerked him from his thoughts. His gait, cautious as if he were crossing a nightingale floor, slowed to a halt… and narrowing his eyes, he quickly pressed his back to the tunnel wall. There was someone – no, more than one person nearby, out of sight; he knew it, with a gut-deep certainty. It was in the air, the deep vibrations of their ki, feeling as if he were standing amid a thickening swarm of hornets.

He became aware of his own aura while laying in wait and made a conscious effort to suppress it to avoid detection – one of several skills he had acquired and employed during his five-year stint as an assassin. The sound of their footfalls soon reached his ears… and surely enough, the first Third Party grunt eventually rounded the corner, tentatively leading with his spear.

Grip tightening suddenly on the hilt of his sword, Goemon unsheathed it with a vicious snap of his arm and slashed at him in the same fluid, arcing motion, carving a bluish streak of light through the shadows. The spear snapped in two, the helm splitting. He swung at the others who were now charging, sliding his blade through the spines of two warriors, and decapitating another, keeping his distance from geysers of blood. The last enemy was split, armour and all from hip to shoulder, tumbling to the tunnel floor with a heavy thud.

Lethal force was not necessary in every situation; he had become much more aware of this in his years working with Lupin and Jigen, which had allowed him to carefully control the fierce killer instinct Sandayu Momochi had cultivated in him. But with his tagging device in need of being reset, and knowing that non-combatant types (some of whom seemed very young) were especially at risk of being harmed, he was not inclined towards knocking any of the Third Party unconscious at the moment.

Resheathing his blade, Goemon was prepared to make his way back to the Processing Area... only to realize that he was bleeding. And as fate would have it, others - friends or foes? - were now approaching...

The ronin steeled his nerves, readying his sword.]

[Someone's definitely approaching, though he's not human. One of his own katana drawn as he moves. Ever on the ready. He's wearing bandages, but it's not for medical reasons. Rather his attempt to protect his wings. It worked last draft he was in.

He'll round the corner and halt, when he sees the tense and injured ronin.]

15th- 17th

[It may shock Luceti-residents who know Jack even as an acquaintance to see him now. Close combat and almost certain death against the very friendly, very cheerful ditz of a man should mean disaster.

Jack Aubrey is in his element here. He was far from the grinning joker he was before - here in the caves one could see how he was the captain of a ship in the midst of war. The man is an experienced leader, knows what to show and what to hide. A fighter, of course. He shows a (possibly) surprising talent for battle and strategy.

With him in the caves, Jack carries his sword and a dirk (http://www.qsl.net/wb1gfh/swordimages/swordcatalog.jpg), the former arrived in Luceti with his coat while the latter he found the day of the announced draft. Along with that is a one-shot pistol (http://www.silvermane.com/acatalog/CA-221228.jpg). He only has enough ammunition and gunpowder on him for three shots and he means to make them count; till then it will be substituted for as a club.

[Day 1 - 15th]

[Jack manages to avoid heavy combat the first day in. He gets himself and Stephen settled in what is designated as their quarters in the Processing Area. He spends the day wandering, collecting himself as he goes to and fro from the camp. He encounters the odd opposition but it is quickly met. He doesn't use his scanner because he doesn't understand them. If someone could explain their purpose I'm sure he'd be more willing to do so. ]

[Day 2 & 3 -16th - 17th]

[Jack is a presence during the draft. He jumps right into the fray, doing what he does best - Killin' Nazis.. He clears through soldiers with ease in his first hour or so of battle. Cutting paths through armored enemies with fierce efficiency. He pays little mind to what cuts and bruises he acquires. This could become a problem later if he gets hurt any worse.

After the first hour. Things start to get a little dicey. Naval battle is a much different affair than this extended barrage. While Jack has great stamina; he is accustomed to fights ending in less than minutes. Naval battle is more about long, complicated strategies that result in quick, bloody fights. As such he is a force of nature for some time. But he is mortal and will grow winded, and sloppy.

He may need someone to watch his back or front.]

[ on the seventeenth, he may come across a curious sight in one of the better lighted portions of the tunnels. one very short, pragmatically dressed slayer spattered in blood. there's a wide blossoming bruise across her cheek and blood trickling down from her temple. she seems not to notice.

in fact, she's on her knees -- leaning forward and flicking through her journal, a precious commodity brought with her from home. she seems as though she isn't paying much attention until a footstep brings her up short. the book is snapped shut and she rises instantly to her feet.
