DRAFT LOG #2: The Battle Game!

Who: Everyone on the draft
What: Fighting bad guys!
When: Today (after 12PM) to the 19th, in the evening
Where: The Mining Facility
Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[Hey, at least she's not sick this time. And she didn't crash the waver, either! \o/ Nami's nursing a couple savage bites on one leg, though, crouching over her downed waver, but she doesn't seem particularly worried all the same. Just pissed, and snapping her climatact down into pieces as she kicks one of the Hunters away from her.

Stupid animals. >E Just give her a second, and she'll take care of the lot of you. A heavy gust of wind should just clear this entire tunnel.

Provided there are no complications. 8|]

[Complications? Of course Alexei wasn't here to do just that. He's here to assist people! He doesn't realize what Nami was planning to do and only spots her trying to fend off the Hunters.

Naturally, he'll want to join the fray.]

[Nami thinks a bunch of animals isn't going to be so much a problem. Her leg hurts, but she can probably deal with that easy enough when she isn't being swamped. Flipping the smaller section of staff out now, ready to kick ass. B||]

[--and suddenly there's somebody else directly in her path. And it takes her another second to recognise that it's

[Only thing she can do for you, Alexei: wrench her aim up. Too little too late, but she manages to send that cutting blast of wind slightly wide, as it were, angling up, slicing into the front of the Hunters and then hitting the ceiling. If he doesn't duck, he might be clipped by the edge of it, but nothing too serious.

This is a habit, isn't it? Clearly she's secretly trying to kill you with her weapon. :|]

[Being Alexei is suffering when Nami's around. Even from where he was, he could tell something was up where Nami was. He was at least alert enough to respond to whatever was coming, and did it come.

He didn't need telling twice that he had to get down to avoid the sudden blast of wind that was coming towards him. Of course, the ceiling behind and above him were another problem. It certainly didn't like being hit by a nasty attack like that and it caused some of the rocks to loosen and fall. Not good.

Not only was he avoiding the attack, now he was avoiding falling rocks too.]

[Oh yeah? Well, being Nami is suffering when Alexei's around! Hah! ~~I'm so clever.~~ She's only got time for a split second of relief that she didn't hit him, because the unfortunate repercussion of an attack that goes wide is...

...she's sort of left open to attack. You dodge the ceiling, Nami will just get dogpiled by a punch of Shifters. Literally. Ow. We'll just wedge the climatact in between the jaws of this particular one before it can bite her face off. Don't mind the muffled yelp. |D]

[~~I nearly choked on my food~~ Alexei was able to cut away some of the rocks, but most of the larger ones he had to try and move to avoid them. He heard a yelp from Nami's general direction and when he glanced over, all the Hunters have literally surrounded her! He couldn't even see her.

Dammit. The rocks were still falling, but if he doesn't do something, she was going to be slaughtered. All right, time to do some fast thinking. He stopped moving and rest his sword in front of him. He summons a wall of ice around him in order to fend off the rocks just long enough to send his blade into the ground.

From where Nami was, an earth-like aura shaped like a dragon serpent, rose from beneath the ground, knocking any Hunters in its path as it continued it's upward path. It wasn't going to hit all of them, but hopefully enough of the Hunters will be knocked back out of confusion to give Nami some space.]

[She'll take it. It's enough space that Nami can get leverage, her heel driving into the flank of one as she twists and smacks the climatact into the closest one again and again--]

Get off me! [/PUNT. And she's up on her feet again, thanks Alexei! :Db She can see he's in trouble, but unfortunately there's little she can do that won't make his situation worse-- so Nami settles for trying to fight towards him, so at least she can be on hand if he gets hurt.]

[It's all right Nami, they're just rocks that can easily knock a guy out from one good smack on the head. Any bigger and he may as well be dealing with deja vu of what happened back home.

A rock actually hits him squarely back as he tries to move once he had helped Nami. Wasn't a large one and he only felt a slight sting. He shrugs it off as being one of the smaller rocks that hit him and continues moving away from the area and towards where Nami and the hunters were. He couldn't stop moving, so he aimed his blade forward and sent a beam down a straight line in hopes of knocking out a few more Hunters]

[Now she knows Alexei is here she makes allowances for his presence in her own attacks, keeping to one side to give him as free a shot as possible. She'll just mow her way through them more slowly with steady application of a lot of electricity.

...though those rocks coming down-- she has a real bad feeling. She knows how powerful her attack is and it shouldn't be making that much damage... unless the ceiling here was unstable to begin with. Which means--]

Alexei! Get out of here!

What-- [And leave Nami here after all that trouble he went through? The Hunters seem to sense what was happening. Some were fleeing, others stayed to continue to stop their advance. The entrance Alexei had come through was barely visible at this point. They wouldn't be able to take that direction even if they wanted to]

Other side!

Other--

[Right. Nami belts another Shifter (home run, that one, look at it go! ...don't question Nami's punting prowess, okay) and takes off for the other side. The good news is that she's met with little opposition as the other Shifters seem pretty intent on leaving also--

--and the bad news is it's too little too late. 8| She skids to a halt and twists sideways with a yelp to avoid a large slab of rock coming down and then stumbles backwards to avoid the rest, as the unstable ceiling gives way in too many places, caving in the other side as well.

She probably could have got clear if she'd tried to. But she didn't. 8|a Odd, that.]

[Could have also caused another cave in from doing that too...8|a. This is a lose-lose situation isn't it?

Only a few Hunters remained, left behind by their pack or forced to stay to keep their enemies from leaving, which was a success for them for the time being. Alexei takes down the last of the Hunters, leaving just him and Nami, trapped.]

This isn't good...

It's not so bad. [She doesn't sound like she thinks it's not so bad, but Nami is thinking of other people and other cave-ins, right now.] Rise is monitoring cave-ins from the barricade. She'll know.

...of course, the fact I'm the designated search and rescue for such things might complicate matters.

...That is a bit of a problem. [Alexei...is just going to kneel down on one leg for a moment. Just for a little break.]

Is it only you?

No. [That would be a bad idea.] If I'm not available, she'll find some--

[That'd be about the point there's a crackling sound from the direction of her waver and she limps towards it, unhooking a headset.] Gimme a second.

[BRB having a handwaved conversation with people at camp 8|a]

I thought as much. [He was just verifying himself. He'll just be making an observation of his surroundings for the time being. There has to be a way for them to get out. Or will they be stuck here until help arrives?

There were an awful lot of muffled sounds coming from the other side of the fallen rocks. Who knows if they were the enemies or the allied forces. He moves to stand only to notice something was wrong when he tried to. There was this sudden wave of pain from his back near his left shoulder.]

... [Wasn't that where the rock had hit him? Funny, he didn't think it caused any serious damage. He tried to move his left arm, it was no good. Welp, at least his weapon arm is ok.]

[Nami doesn't really see that aborted move, but she hasn't forgotten that Alexei got hit when some of those rocks came down. She loops the headset round her neck once she's done and heads back to him, eyes flicking to the rocks and frowning at those sounds. It's too fast to be anyone they know, isn't it...?]

How badly are you hurt?

The top left side near my shoulder was hit. I can't really tell how extensive the damage is though. [Let's try to move again. Yes it hurt, but he shouldn't stay in this kneeling position.]

...Although I can say I shouldn't try moving my left arm so much for a while.

I can probably help out with that. [Her smile is a little amused.] I won't even collapse on you this time.

Heh. And here I was expecting to carry you again. [He glances toward one side of the cave that was blocked off.]

I would appreciate the assistance. I don't think we need anymore things to collapse as is.

No. And I think it's better you're in good enough condition to actually fight. [She tilts her head to the sounds on the other side.] Just in case.

[Here. Let her give you a hand with that injury, Alexei.]
