What: Fighting bad guys!

Where: The Mining Facility
Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

I hear that a lot on drafts. 'Never should have' - it can't be helped. They throw us in here without any preparation or any real idea what they're doing. [She brushes Sayo's hair back from her face.] If nobody died, that's a good thing.

That's a small victory when you can't even control the circumstances that might get you killed in the first place.

Years, now. [Her grin doesn't quite get to her eyes.] This is my fourth draft. So far, it's had the least casualties. But give it another day or two.

Only the second for me. [And gee, doesn't he sound happy about it. Being forced to do someone else's dirty work is something he was not okay with the first time around.]

Kind of surprising, considering, you know--mine. Doesn't seem like an especially safe environment offhand, does it.

Nope. [She frowns.] Honestly? The whole thing doesn't make any sense to me. Not when you consider the so-called bad guys have huge wings and all. And I still don't buy the Malnosso not being able to deal with this problem without us, anyway.

That makes two of us, then. [He props up his chin with an armored fist.]

They can create simulated enemies in the battle dome, but they still send us to do this. With no discretion over who they're sending. Combatants or noncombatants.

Yeah. I'm not a tactician and even I know that's a really stupid thing to do if you're genuinely trying to win a fight. [Nami rubs at her face tiredly.] You know, there's a theory that these are just another form of experiment, when you get down to it.

I wouldn't be all that surprised at this point. After discovering there's at least five alternate universes of my own world? Yeah, not a lot throws me.

Doubtful. At least one of them doesn't even have the superhero alter ego. I'd like to have a talk with him about that.

[His expression flattens. He doesn't know Barnaby, but he does now Kotetsu--pffft. That hero wannabe only wishes he was from the same world as Tony.]

Nope. I'm the only armored hero in my universe. My world is an alternate of the X-Men's, however. If you know any of those kiddos.
