Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[ oh. stitches will be met with some very interesting reactions -- but for now, she gives stephen leave to inspect the arm. stepping closer, even, to facilitate this examination. ]

When we get back to the camp, I will insist on wrapping it. [He doesn't know how well she heals. He knows about the strength and can guess that influences it...

But he would also rather not leave wounds untreated for too long.]

...Wrapping? Like -- bandaging it? I guess that's -- [ she eyes the cut. knows the one on her leg is just as long, though still shallow. ] That's okay. That'll be okay.

Just bandaging. [The leg, he can make no promise on, but this cut... Does not look to need stitches. Hopefully, the injury to her leg won't either.]

What? Like how you reminded him? [ her heel nudges the body. she's joking. jesting. building those playful walls right back up after a brief flare-up of vulnerability. ]

Fine. I could use a drink of water and something to munch on, anyway. [ as if bandaging would just be secondary to these things. tertiary. ]

[For a moment, a chill settles across Stephen's features.] That isn't the work of a doctor. [A stab, carefully chosen to the right spot... but that? No. That was not a doctor's work.]

Come along then, my dear. [As he tries to chase the chill surrounding him away. At least for now.]

[ a nod. she, too, wants to chase away that chill and so she slips her uninjured arm around his. hooking elbows. ]

...Hope you don't mind. [ she doesn't need it. she can walk just fine. but perhaps they could both believe the obvious lie for the same of camaraderie. ]

...I've been on every single one in the past year. And before that, I only missed two. They like dragging me out for these parties. [ a shrug. ] War hero, I guess.

Oh, I highly doubt it's as random as anyone says it is. Though -- oh, I don't know. There's people missing from this one that I was surprised to see off the list.

Archie. Jack. My Jack. Albert. I'm always unnerved when Albert's not out here.

I don't believe I know Albert. [A beat.] I sorely wish my Jack were not here.

Albert Silverberg. He would be the one that does the locked transmissions to us residents. Quiet, strategical kinda guy. [ and someone with whom the slayer keeps close counsel with. ] It's his younger brother running the tactics for us on this one. Caesar.

[ hmm. ] Is he not...y'know, down with the fighting? Yours?

He's... No. He's amazing in battle. My Jack. Brilliant. Unstoppable, even. Like a storm at sea.

But I worry about him. He lets his injuries collect, won't let them be seen to. Until he's nearly collapsing.

...I look forward to coming across him in these tunnels, then. Though -- he doesn't exactly know about the Slayer thing yet. That's not gonna freak him out, is it?

In the rush of battle? I'd be surprised if he even noticed. Once everything's settled? You might have to explain to him. At least somewhat.

Hah. [ she bows her head in laughter. ] My explanations of stuff? Not been going so well, so far. Not with him. Not that it's been bad. Just...culture shock. Lots of it. Both ways.
