DRAFT LOG #2: The Battle Game!

What: Fighting bad guys!
When: Today (after 12PM) to the 19th, in the evening
Where: The Mining Facility
Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[Oh, good, that will help. Kain sees it coming and catches it, to take it right away. At least that stops the draining of his energy and that sickly feeling. Enough that he can focus to stab at the nearest incoming.]

[The antidote is followed by a Cura, even as Cecil starts raising his axe.]

You'd think an external conduct would make casting a spell simpler.

[That's more like it. Kain nods agreement, before raising his own weapon, preparing to skewer the next incoming enemy.]

[At the same time, Cecil knocks another out with the flat of his weapon. This gives him enough time to put his hand on Defender and cast Protect on them both.]

[That Protect will help a lot, battling like this in these close quarters. Kain continues stabbing at his opponent, and defending against the return blows.]

[By themselves, the Third Party soldiers are relatively simple to defeat. But the sight of a dozen approaching them still makes Cecil frown.]

We need a way to clear them out quickly.

[Kain stabs down the enemy he's dealing with and then glances at the ones gathering. He nods agreement, but prepares himself to deal with them.]

[Perhaps he should prepare to run instead, because Cecil's way of clearing them out apparently involves taking out the Sleep Blade and Triton's Dagger.]

[Kain takes notice of this and then rushes to get out of the way, jabbing at enemies as he does.]

[Good, because the soldiers closest to Cecil suddenly fall asleep, and that would not be very helpful during a jump.]

[Yes, that would have been very very bad. Kain turns his attention on any of the enemy who were out of range, stabbing at them.]

[With his left hand, Cecil scans the fallen soldiers. But with his right... this particular section of the cave is about to become rather damp.]

[Kain keeps going, to pick off any ones who haven't yet been taken down. He adds in some Filial Wind when he can, too...]

[And here it comes, a wave strong enough to displace the unconscious bodies, along with some of the lighter rocks. It does clear the area surprisingly quickly.]

[Kain braces himself against that, still ending up pretty well drenched in the process. But the area is now clear...]

[Cecil managed to get himself damp too, somehow, but he doesn't seem to care.]

I doubt they'll return to fight us anytime soon.

[Kain shows a subtle hint of amusement at that, smirking vaguely. Looks like they dealt with that. He nods, glancing around to ensure that they're all taken care of.]

[So does Cecil. It seems they'll have a minute or two to rest.]

Where do they all come from? Another village such as ours? Many of them?

I assume they must have a similar living situation. Another village elsewhere... who knows how many there could truly be in all...

...Perhaps they'll be the ones scanning us, next.

I doubt they'd care to scan. They only take interest in destroying us.

If they could capture us, they'd have the chance to do so at their leisure, with no fear of retribution.

They won't take us. Besides... studying us isn't in their interest.

Perhaps this would be easier if we had anything to pffer them beyond our deaths.
