DRAFT LOG #2: The Battle Game!

Who: Everyone on the draft
What: Fighting bad guys!
When: Today (after 12PM) to the 19th, in the evening
Where: The Mining Facility
Summary: It's an underground mine! And the Malnosso want you to kill and capture all the bad guys! Oh, but don't let the rocks fall on you. That could hurt.
Rating: B for BLOOD. Seriously. People are going to die. People have already died. We're not going to make it out of here. We're all screwed, it's Game Over, man!

[Kain immediately snaps to attention, raising his spear defensively. He glances to Cecil, to ensure he's preparing, then returns to doing likewise himself.]

[The steps come closer by the second, but Cecil still has the time to use Defender to cast two Protect spells. They'll undoubtedly need them.]

[Kain nods a quick thanks for that, it'll undoubtedly help when it comes to it. He turns and watches as the first of them come into sight. Hard to tell if they'll be just the standard ones or elites, but he won't underestimate them either way. He waits until they close in more before springing into action.]

[This time, Cecil doesn't bother with the spells. He cuts, he slashes, nothing but his arm and his sword and all the damage they can cause. It works better than everything else, if anything.]

[Kain keeps stabbing and jabbing swiftly at the enemies as they charge in. He's still bothered at being so enclosed and unable to jump properly, but he does everything he can to make up for it.]

[Cecil pauses in his assault, but only long enough to exchange his sword for his axe. Some of the enemies start to look rather ill after he hits them.]

[Kain throws in some Filial Wind along with the continued attacks. He's exceptionally strong with that element, naturally, so it adds more strength to his battling. Which is good, he needs all the added boost he can get in this situation.]

[Sadly, Cecil's Filial magic is not particularly useful against so many opponents; too many variables to think of. But he compensates by aiming at people's knees. Hopefully that makes it easier for Kain to push them away.]

[That does make a difference, and Kain gets more into the attack, his resolve renewed some as he sees they're starting to make a difference.]

[Slowly but surely, the enemy wave thins out. Cecil even has the time to pause and scan two before he keeps going.]

[Kain keeps going while Cecil scans them, giving him the time he needs to pull that off. He's not about to let up until they're all down.]

[The more they fall, the less Cecil fights. Scanning is more useful in the long term, and Kain appears to have little need of his help. he does take the time to smack an incoming soldier in the face with his shield, though.]

[Kain is getting a good many stabs at them, managing well despite the location. Their numbers are dwindling fast but he's not going to stop until they've dealt with them all.]

[Far be it from Cecil to interrupt. But he does cast a few Libras, just so Kain can see how far along he is.]

[That definitely helps, so Kain knows which ones he can pick off and which he needs to go after more.]

[By now, Cecil is done with those that have collapsed. He turns around, sword in hand, looking for foes to fell.]

[There should still be some for him, despite the fact that they're dropping fast. Kain is only now starting to slow down a little but he keeps going.]

[How nice to keep some for him, Kain. He attacks the one closest to him, but by now it's no contest.]

[Only a few stragglers left... Kain doesn't have any problems in dealing with them.]

[He waits until the last has fallen to speak.]

...They'll have to run out of soldiers, at some point.

[Kain holds his spear up a moment, listening and watching. Then gradually he'll lower it so he can reply.]

They never seem to.

...Just like those girls...

[Except without the identicalness and the Meteor. He appreciates that, even if he doesn't look very happy.]

[Kain gives him a look, what does he even mean by that.]

...It's nothing.

[And Kain might not want to poke him about it when he looks so uneasy.]

[Ok, right in the middle of enemy territory is probably not the best time to continue to poke about such, so he'll let it go.]
