In a word? I guess I'm looking for an escort.

[She turns a little to indicate the tunnel in question— southeast of the processing area.]

There's a barrier down that tunnel there. ["Barrier" she says, because scanning only gives her life signs and...structures. It's hard to tell what's down there.] I'd like to go have a look at it, but...I don't think I can go alone.

[At least that is one thing he'll give the people here. The ones who can't fight at least know what they can and cannot handle. Far better than people in his world at times who end up dead by monsters.]

I agree, but no one should be out there alone whether they can fight or not. I'll take you.

[She nods.]

It might take a while so if there's anyone you need to inform, I can wait a bit.

That won't be needed. I'll send one of my shadows to let Caesar Silverberg know. Do not be disturbed by the appearance of another of myself.

[And he goes ahead and uses his Body-Split Craft and another Leonhardt appears.]

[ooc: And since I'm canon blind on Rise's ability, here's my writeup on his abilities to help you figure out what Rise would know. It's in the middle of the entry and got a huge section because it's so complex.]

((ooc: Just for reference, I've done a quick writeup here about Rise's abilities but it's pretty basic!))

[To her credit, Rise's surprise doesn't manifest itself too openly (she's been watching things, after all) and the appearance of the clone only makes her shift slightly further back. But her expression doesn't change and she waits— possibly for the shadow to move, or maybe for the real Leonhardt to do so.]

[He'll go ahead and send the shadow over to another part of the base and he himself is remaining near Rise.]

There, that will ensure the base's number of fighters do not dwindle. We can depart now.

[She nods and makes to head towards the path leading to the barricade.]

Right this way.

[Leonhardt will stay at Rise's side. That's about the best position he can be in with the two of them being the only ones. If he's in front or behind, too much of a chance of her being hit by an ambush even though he is likely to sense the presence of an enemy.

But he will remain silent and make his movements as quiet as possible. No need to be broadcasting their presence with idle talk, after all.]

[No need at all indeed. Rise's not used to walking in rocky terrain and it shows— she's taking a little longer and this trail leading upwards has cracks, pebbles, and a generally uneven path. Enough to make her stumble as they walk, but nothing serious as she always manages to catch her footing.

There's a faint thump thump that gets louder as they approach the barricade though, and Rise's hand keeps half-rising to the hilt of the sword strapped to her waist. She's probably no match for most of the fighters here but hell if it won't make her jumpy.

Sorry, Leonhardt, until they get to the barricade itself, it's gonna be a pretty quiet walk.]
