New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

But if I choose differently, wouldn't I still be in the human world? [Waging war on God made it necessary for him to move to the demon world, but the other plans? Gin's, Atsuro's and Yuzu's should have Kouki stay in the human world.]

[He blinks in surprise, then gives a sheepish grin.] Ah...figured it out, eh? Lemme put it this way. What I would ask for isn't something you could get.

[He gives her an annoyed look.] I'm not old, you're just a brat.

[ Firo's not so good with the secrecy thing. He glances around quickly, looking slightly embarrassed. ]

[ He leans in closer, lowering his voice. ]

How come it's gotta be a secret?

Some people might take it the wrong way. Consider it collaborating with the enemy. I'd rather not incite any arguments over that.

[Technically speaking, that's exactly what it is, but Yeager was never one to ignore the potential benefits of switching sides.]

I think so. I don't think any of our other plans would have sent you out of the human world. [Except for maybe Amane's.. So he nods at the last bit.] Maybe. Do you think you would end up living there though? I mean, even when becoming the King of Bel, you were only going to the demon world for the duration of the war, right?

[ He scratches his head. ]

Huh. I guess that makes sense... Didn't really think of it that way.

[ He didn't really think about it all, like most things. Sure, he hates the Malnosso and would rather beat them bloody, but Yeager's his friend so the alliance almost wouldn't seem wrong. ]

[Norma laughs, like the brat she is, and hugs onto Ace affectionately. She may be a brat, but she's the lovable kind. As for his wish, though...something she can't get? Understandable. If she still had her wish to make, it would one Ace couldn't grant either.

Instead, she gives him another quick hug before tugging gently on the strings of his hat. Get down here, you giraffe.]

Well, I can still give you something, though a good kick in the pants wouldn't get me anywhere with someone like you. [She grins and, once he's leaned down enough, Norma pushes Ace's hat back and gives his forehead a kiss - as is tradition.

[As an arms dealer with some engineering experience, Yeager has a healthy appreciation for advanced technology, so that computer piques his interest as soon as he spots it. He sidles out of the crowd towards Robert to have a look.]

My, what is that?

[Yeager leans towards him a little himself, smiling as though they're discussing some kind of private joke instead of a secret.]

Let me offer you a little advice. Next time you say something loudly that should have been concealed, don't get closer to me like that. That only makes it obvious to everyone around us. It's better to just look without turning your head, busy yourself with something...

[He leans back, throwing a brief glance at the people around them by way of demonstration, and sips from his drink for a few seconds, gesturing idly with the glass as he finishes it off.]

...And then you change the subject after I have the chance to respond. That way there's no obvious breaks in the conversation, nothing to attract attention.

[Not that anyone seemed to have reacted to Firo's too-loud question before. Just a good teaching moment.]
