New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

There is something... ephemeral about the fireworks, an echo of a long-forgotten past, a pre-Terran time where such a thing would be considered beautiful, spectacular, and not entirely wasteful of precious chemicals.

Despite the cynicism Robert has, standing at the edges of the bustling crowd and watching the colours of a celebration his time no longer really has - is another year really worth that much of an investment? - it is stirring, to watch, admittedly. If nothing else, it provides a backdrop for his thoughts.

... It's almost a year, since he came to Luceti. Almost a year, and so much has changed; so much is different, and he wonders whether all the changes are good.

... It's not surprising to see the scientist deep in thought during even a celebration, admittedly, and although he is still awkward and hovering around the edges of the festivities... that sort of thoughtfulness could provoke conversation.

That is, if one isn't already distracted by the fact he's using his highly-technologically-advanced nanocomputer to take holovideos of the fireworks. (He is curious, no matter how much of him says it's an environmental hazard...) Or perhaps one is just interested in the socially-awkward, rarely-seen-out-and-about man. It wouldn't be the first time.

[As an arms dealer with some engineering experience, Yeager has a healthy appreciation for advanced technology, so that computer piques his interest as soon as he spots it. He sidles out of the crowd towards Robert to have a look.]
