New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

[Another new year already, it felt like he'd been in Luceti forever, and damn it's cold out here too! He doesn't intend to stick around for long, but it's nice to everyone gathered to celebrate. He had already decided to just stick around for a few drinks and some fireworks, then go curl up drunk on the floor back at the house.

Yeah, best plan ever.]

[Oh hey thar. Yeager heads over to greet Raven, smiling as usual and looking cheerfully unaffected by the cold. The fact that he's been sipping cocktails for a little while now might be helping with that.]

The fireworks here are rather nice, aren't they?

[Unlike Yeager, Raven is shivering in this weather.]

I should have expected ta see you here. Ah well, I'm not in the mood fer conflict while everyone is celebratin'. Happy new years I guess?

[Ah, great. Neither is he. Except, you know, the usual amount of trollage, but that's practically habit for him.] Happy new year's to you. I'm pleased to see how well Luceti can throw a party. It's almost as impressive as Dahngrest.

[If he were celebrating this back home, he'd probably be heading from party to party with the daughters until they finally started succumbing to weariness. The thought of which makes his smile fade a tad. Those two never did show up here...]

I don't think you've been in Luceti long enough to appreciate their events properly.

Perhaps not. What do you think of them? Better than back home?

Can't say I have much of an opinion on it at this point. It's been a long time since I saw anythin' back home, let alone fireworks.

Though if ya wanna get technical, Nordopolica has a much better display than Dahngrest.

True. They have those going throughout the year, though, so I don't often head out on new year's to see them. I took my girls there once or twice, of course, but we generally stay in town.

What is your grand total of time in Luceti, now?

[He pauses to think about that for a moment. Then it suddenly hits him.]

This'd be my third year here. Well, fourth, but I don't remember the year before that.

My. [Geez, four years is a long time.] You must get homesick.

Funny ya say that! [He lets out a laugh.] I've been back home twice already! Don't remember anything before the first time, but I remember pretty much everything before the second. Can't say I get particularly homesick ta be honest, I'm quite happy here.

Are you really? [He looks mildly skeptical, as though not believing that anyone could be content with this place.] Enough to not want to go back again?

Not exactly how I'd put it. I guess fer me it doesn't make a difference which world I'm in, they're both as good and bad as each other.

[During the fireworks, Raven is very likely to run into a certain pretty lady with a cozy coat (thank you, Ginia!) over top a fancy dress. She isn't quite sure what's being celebrated right now, but there's a party, fireworks, and friends, and so that's good enough for her!

She sounds even more chipper than usual as she calls out:] Hello, Raven! Aren't the fireworks so pretty?

[She caught him by surprise for a moment, before he quickly realized who was addressing him.]

Oh, Grune! Yeah, they're nice... kinda noisy but heh, that's how they work.

I think the noise is part of the fun! Don't you?

I 'spose if I had enough ta drink I could sleep through the noise...

Oh, don't you like it?

Not quite what I mean. I like fireworks, it's just too cold out here right now fer me ta be enjoyin' them.

Oh, are you cold? Here you go.

[And she starts undoing her coat. ~~*sax music*~~]

N-no! Ya don't have to do that! I'm fine, really! [He pulls up coat closer together, burying his face in his scarf.]

See! Perfectly warm and snug!

[She pauses.]

Are you sure?

I'm one-hundred percent sure! Can't have a lady strippin' out here like that. Keep yer clothes on, hun.

[Words a man never wants to say.]

Well, all right.

[And back on goes the coat. Such a gentleman, Raven.]

Maybe we should go get hot chocolate together.

Why would ya wanna drink hot chocolate with an old man like me? Shouldn't you be here with yer boyfriend?
