New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

[Norma purses her lips, but her shoulders sag a little bit at that. No, death isn't permanent here, but still. It's still death, and...ugh, she just doesn't want to think about that. Instead, she tilts her head and is about to ask just who this "Moro" person was, but then Ace was a jerk instead.

Hnn... Can she just. Push him off the roof? It's so tempting. Instead, she gives Ace's shoulder a hard shove, showing her displeasure.]

You are such a sleaze! See if I ever give you anything ever again. And don't look up my name when you need a favor, either!

[Yeah, she's sticking her tongue out at you again, Ace. WORST FRIEND.]

[Hah...if she gives him anything. He looks slightly distant. Now that he thought about it, this was his first birthday without family. Well, actually, Luffy and Marco were here. But he missed having his birthday with Pops and his brothers.]

I'm not the kind of guy who asks for stuff often.

[Just his nakama right now. Hey guys, I'm twenty-one now, I'm not a kid anymore! And then they would just tease him, that yes he is. Hah. He missed them a lot. Taking a long swig. I mean, a LONG one.]

Not even for your birthday?

[Yeah, Norma caught on pretty quick. She's not stupid, and can easily put two and two together. She leans against Ace's side, starting to get a little cold in just the dress her gave her. Ugh, winter, ugh...be over already. Norma hates you.]

Twenty-one, huh? [The shots he let off gave her the hint she needed to figure it out.] Oooh, Hothead, you're getting old.

[He blinks in surprise, then gives a sheepish grin.] Ah...figured it out, eh? Lemme put it this way. What I would ask for isn't something you could get.

[He gives her an annoyed look.] I'm not old, you're just a brat.

The biggest one you know!

[Norma laughs, like the brat she is, and hugs onto Ace affectionately. She may be a brat, but she's the lovable kind. As for his wish, though...something she can't get? Understandable. If she still had her wish to make, it would one Ace couldn't grant either.

Instead, she gives him another quick hug before tugging gently on the strings of his hat. Get down here, you giraffe.]

Well, I can still give you something, though a good kick in the pants wouldn't get me anywhere with someone like you. [She grins and, once he's leaned down enough, Norma pushes Ace's hat back and gives his forehead a kiss - as is tradition.

...Then tweaks his nose.]

Jeez, you smell like a brewery. Happy birthday, Hothead. And new year!

[He leans down a bit, curious as to what will happen. hen she kisses him, his eyes widen a bit before blinking, and then smiling. He kisses her tenderly back on the cheek before straightening up again.]

[Ace just kissed her on the cheek.]

[INDESCRIBABLE EMOTION!!]

[She puts a hand on his face with a look along the lines of "ew, cooties", and pushes him away gently. Jeez, don't get all mushy on her now or anything, Ace, you're like the pseudo not!brother she never had ~~and is unsure she even wants because you're a big jerk sometimes~~. Though of course, anything said and done now is just theatrics. That was terribly cute, if a little strange.]

Oh, gross, I really am gonna go home smelling like a bewery now! If that stuff smells like that, you can drink your fill, Hothead, bleeech! I don't want any!

[Yeah, she's blushing. Feel free to call her out on it, she'll deny it until the day she dies.]

[Oh. Wow. She's still a little kid, this is almost cute. Okay, he really can't resist this next part.]

Aww, Norma. Never been kissed before? [He sighs and pats her head.] You've got a looong way to go in the world.

[He holds up his bottle of rum.] You're turning red just from the smell of this stuff, no way am I letting you drink any. [Yes, you can punch him.]

[Oh my god, Ace. You truly are the annoying bastard brother Norma never wanted ever. Her face turns a deep shade of red because...yeah, he hit the nail on the head about her never having kissed anyone before in her life. M-Mainly because the person she cared for the most was--]

OOOOH, YOU GIANT SLEAZE! [She grabs his wrist and is tempted to bend his arm back painfully, but instead throws it off with all her might.] Dirtbag! I don't want anything from you! I'm going home right now!

[She stomps her foot to show she's srs bznz!! then gathers up her shoes, bunches up her dress so she can walk with a little less effort, and...storms away. Yeah, she doesn't care this is probably unsafe as all hell, and there's...really nowhere for her to go other than the other side of the roof, but that was mean! Cold shoulder tactic go!]

[At first, he just laughs like the shithead he is, but when his laughter dies down and he sees her walking away, he walked at a pretty fast past to stand next to her and grab her arm.]

Idiot. If you walk around barefoot on a roof, you're gonna slip on the ice. C/mon, I'll help you get down.

[Keeping a gentle grip on her arm to make sure she doesn't fall.]

I don't need your help!

[Norma waves him away at first, but when she misses a step (yes, that was an ice patch, ohai) and practically topples head over heels into the snow, she...decides it's best to take Ace up on his offer. BUT SHE'S NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. Pouting. So much pouting.

And clinging.]

F-F-Fine! But just this once; a-and I'm going home after! You're mean! [She sticks out her tongue at him, and blows. So mature is she.] And I can't even punch you... It's not fair.

O-oi! [He holds onto her again, helping her get her balance.] You okay?

[You must be getting so pissed off now that he's being all nice and trying to help you, ohoho~. He stands on her others side, closer to the edge of the roof to prevent her from falling.]

Yeah, it's too cold to stay out here any longer. I'll take you home. [He just smiles at her.] Okay, okay, you get one punch, but that's it.

[YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW ANGRY SHE IS. Norma huffs, but keeps her grip on Ace's arm firm and secure. As upset as she is with him for his constant jabs at her, she really would rather not fall off a roof, thanks. One broken leg in her lifetime is more than enough. Plus she...really didn't want to walk home on her own. It was cold, and Ace's power came in so handy for the ridiculously long walk she had in store. Ngh...why did the Ferines have to choose to live so far away from civilization?]

Oooh...you--! [She huffs and bops Ace lightly on the head. Ugh! He's being sweet and nice and charming just so Norma couldn't find it in herself to really hit him! Jerk.] You're such a dummy. I can't hit you on your birthday. What kind of person would I be if I did that, huh?! Just take me home, it's cold, and I've got a looong way to walk.

[He just winks at the light bop, and smiles.] And you're a sweet kid.

[He gingerly picks her up and jumps off the roof.] Damn right I'm taking you home. It's too late for you to be walking home alone anyway.

Yeah, yeah, whatever...

[Norma huffs and crosses her arms, not bothering to uncross them or stop pouting even when Ace picks her up. She doesn't meet his eye and snorts - she could walk home fine without him if it wasn't cold! It's not like she's little--]

[Wait, why is he walking closer to the edge of the roof?]

[...He's not.]

[He is.]

Wha--wait a minute! Y-Y-You're not really going to...! Do-Don't you dare, I'm not ready! I'm not ready yet! [OH GOD OH MAN OH GOD.]

[Too late. SCREEEEEEEEEE!!]

H-Hothead--Ace!

[LATCHING ONTO YOU LIKE A BARNACLE.]

[He was grinning until she started CLINGING TO HIM FOR DEAR LIFE. After that, he just sort of. Well.

Started laughing.] C'mon, it wasn't even that high! [He sets her down on the ground, still laughing a bit.]

'S not like I was gonna jump off a cliff or anything. Though, that would be fun.

[He'll have to do it sometime.]

Norma is not letting you go just yet, Ace, even when she's set down. Her legs feel like pudding and she whimpers quietly just once before her righteous fury kicks in and her strength is renewed. Can she just...hit you? For real this time? You gave her a free shot. B|

But no. She's throwing her arms up into the air and stomping away from Ace as fast as she can. TO HELL WITH YOU.]

Oh, so it's not good if I fall off the roof, but it a-okay if you jump off of it?! That's some kind of twisted logic right there, ooooooh! And you can jump into a bottomless pit for all I care, but count me out, Hothead! Why do I even bother hanging out with you, you're such a...a--!

[Yeah, she doesn't know what, so she just makes an angry noise and moves off faster. SHE DOESN'T NEED YOU TO WALK HER BACK. SHE'LL FREEZE FIRST. >:T]
