Summary: It's New Year's, and the people of Luceti have a lot to reflect upon, and to look forward to. And on a more meta level, new journal names.

New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Yeah, there was a festival at home too! Yotsuba got to wear a... A yukata! Yeah! And there was goldfish catching and candy floss!!

[Slowly getting more and more excited. Hope you're fine having a hyper active little girl on your hands Pao-lin!]

[This is totally fine with Pao-lin! Seeing a sweet little kid like Yotsuba being so happy and excited makes Pao-lin happy, too.]

Oh, I've heard about festivals like that from my friend. I heard the goldfish catching was pretty hard.

Ohhh, it is! Really hard! You need to hold your net, like this!

[Holding her arms out in front of her and spacing her legs apart. This is the most dramatic explanation of how to catch a goldfish ever.]

And then you need to be careful. Go slow. Slooowly... [Suddenly snapping her head in Pao-lin's direction--] Slow!!

And then... WHOOSH! [Flinging her arms into the air!] There, did Youtsuba catch it?!

[ohgods this girl. Pao-lin kind of just wants to scoop you up and twirl you around.]

If you moved your net that quickly, I think you would've flung the poor fish into the air!

...Really?

[Looking up into the sky as though she might be able to spot this imaginary fish she just threw into the air.]

It's not there. [Oh wait, that's right.] It was a flying fish, so it flew away! No problem!

But I thought you were trying to catch goldfish, not flying fish. [Teasing, of course.]

[Right, she was going for a goldfish. Uhm.]

[Well dang.]

It was... A flying goldfish. With wings. Golden goldfish wings.

[Flapping her arms about a little. Flap flap.]

Like that.

[Pao-lin hums thoughtfully.]

Golden goldfish wings, huh? That sure sounds pretty.

Oh yeah, really pretty! And when it flew off it left all these sparkles!

[Twirling about in the 'sparkles'.]

Now Yotsuba is all shiny. So are you!

Really? [Pao-Lin holds out her arms and looks down at herself.] How shiny am I?

[Holding her thumb up and moving it around a little, similar to how an artist might inspect a painting.]

Yotsuba thinks you're shiny like a star! Oh, or a firework, they're even shinier, right? But you don't make a big bang like a firework. Yotsuba is going to stick with 'star' as the answer!

[With a grin, Pao-Lin holds up a hand. She glows blue as her NEXT power activates and lightning swirls and sparks around it.]

How shiny am I now?

[ohwowwhatisthat her eyes are open SO WIDE right now.]

You're like... A star and a firework... If they got married and lived happily ever after.

A star and a firework getting married, huh? I haven't heard that story before. It sounds like a fairytale.

It is! [It isn't.]

It's a story of... Love. Adven-sure. Ice cream. [No it really isn't. Stop this Yotsuba.]

...Once upon a time! Really far away!! [Oh God she's going to try and tell a story about fireworks and stars.]

[And Pao-Lin's gonna go ahead and let her, sitting down on a bench nearby and listening to the little girl ramble on and on.]

[Every single emotion and scene will be acted out by Yotsuba pulling various faces, jumping around and otherwise acting like a kid in some way or form.

...You brought this upon yourself Pao-lin.]

There was once the land of... Fireworksland. Yeah, fireworks land! It was full of fireworks and they were all really pretty and they would go BOOM and everyone would get really happy because of how pretty they looked.

BUT! But they didn't go away when they went BOOM, they always came back, because if everyone went boom there wouldn't be a fireworksland because everyone would have... EXPLODED-ed by now. That would be bad!!

One day the king and queen of fireworksland had a little baby girl. They named her...

...

Usagi. Usagi is the name of one of Yotsuba's friends, so it's probably a good enough name to name your baby.

So yeah! They had a girl and she was called Usagi!

At the same time, there was this other place, and it was called... Star something. Star-something! And everyone in star-something was a star so it was always really bright and shiny there.

In star-something there were 'nother king and queen. And there was another baby. He was named... Kyon. Wait, he was named Otonashy! ...Kyononashy. That's a very pretty name, so he'll be named Kyononashy.

So there are these two places, fireworksland and star-something and they're right next door to each other, so the two babies would meet up every single day and play together, and they would go to each other's houses and eat cake and talk about the weather together. It sounds really nice!

So everything was good. And both these places were really happy, espeshully Usagi and Kyononashy because they had lots of friends and they were the happiest there.

Whilst everyone was happy, there was one person who wasn't happy. He was called... Nowy. He smelt really bad and no one ever talked to him so he was really sad. And he kept trying to take Otonashy away from Yotsuba so Yotsuba hit him once really hard because he deserved it--

[Okay getting off track there...]

So Nowy was really sad and smelly. He got really angry at Usagi and Kyononashy 'cause they were always happy and having fun, and he wanted to have fun sometimes too. And eat candy too, because he likes candy canes.

He made up this super evil plan to steal Usagi from fireworksland and then make it seem like it was all Kyononashy's fault so he would be sad! Then Nowy would make Kyononashy feels better and he would have a friend and then he would be happy. Nowy is really mean, so he doesn't care how other people feel. He just wants to be happy because he smells LIKE A COW.

So Nowy visited fireworksland and saw Usagi... Oh, they grew up. She's now... Uh, older than Yotsuba. She can be Rise's age! Do you know Rise, she makes really good cheesecake and we had a group hug.

So Usagi was now really old, like Rise, and she saw Nowy and said...

'Oh hello there, I am Usagi of fireworks land and I am Sailor Moon! I will punish you in the name of the moon!' except she didn't because she didn't know Nowy was evil yet, but he is, he's really evil.

Nowy was really nice to her and pretended to be her friend. And then they were friends. Nowy asked Usagi to come to his house one day, so she said yes and came around and they played games, like snakes and ladders, until they were tired.

Just as Usagi was about to fall asleep from being really tired, but she didn't want to go to sleep because bed time isn't until later, but she was still falling asleep anyway...

Nowy smacked her head really hard and she passed out! Bam! That was really nasty, he should be dirted for hitting a girl you know, because he's really bad! He then left her on the bed in his house because he didn't want her laying on the floor, that's way too mean.

Kyononashy was looking for Usagi now-- He grew up too. Now he's... Natsu aged. Yotsuba likes Natsu, and ice cream and persimmons too, they're tasty. But he got older fast! And went looking for Usagi because they were meant to go to the zoo together but Usagi never showed up.

While looking for Usagi he finds Nowy's house and when he looks inside he sees Usagi asleep on the bed in there! He rang the doorbell and Nowy answered, so he said 'my friend is asleep on your bed can I have her back please?' but Nowy just said 'NO GO AWAY LETS BE FRIENDS' so then they were friends.

But then Kyononashy remembered that they can't be friends because Usagi was sleeping on his bed and that was really weird! So he pushed Nowy to the floor and ran to Usagi and saved her and they were both really happy because Nowy got pushed over on the floor!!

Usagi and Kyononashy ran away back to their homes and Nowy was sad again. No, even sadder than he was before. Really sad. Nowy is really sad!!

When the king and queen of fireworksland and star... Star... What did Yotsuba call it? Starwhatever! And starwhatever heard about Nowy being mean they were really sad and angry. So they did something about it.

The king of fireworksland was also a mob boss, so he ordered a hit on Nowy!! He was acting really cool and he was on TV and everything, if you were watching you would want to record it and watch it again because he was just that cool.

So all these gangsters showed up at Nowy's house and they all had guns. They all pointed at Nowy and said "You hit a girl and you smell a lot so we're going to shoot you because the king told us too!"

And then Nowy said back--

"Don't shoot me! I am innocent!"

"No you're not."

And they shot him, and Nowy fell over and he died.

Then everyone in fireworksland and star something-- Ohhh, that's what Yotsuba called it, star something, right? Yeah, they were happy and they had a big party because Nowy had gone away.

In their happiness, Usagi and Kyononashy decided to get married, so they did. And then they had a baby too, and it was a baby girl. And when it was born they had to name it, so they named her...

...

Lin... Pao. That's a nice name, so they named her Lin-Pao. And she was really happy with her mommy and daddy too. Oh, the king and queen of fireworksland can be... Fluffy Buffy and Captain Jack, because they're cool like that. Plus one's a pirate and the other is the first mate, so they can be pirate gangster fireworks!! Uhm, the king and queen of star-something can be... Rise and Naoto. But Naoto is really a girl, even though she looks like a boy, but for Yotsuba's story she can be a boy because then she can have a baby with Rise and if they didn't do that then there would be no Kyononashy!!

...Lin-Pao also had a flying pony called Rainbow Dash and she was pretty cool, they were both very shiny, super shiny, and they flew around the sky together every single day and everyone was happy because she was happy.

The end!

[This calls for a bow or two, as if she's standing in front of a full audience of people all clapping for her.]
