New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

[ Well don't you look lovely? Helios blinks turning back around and managing his biggest smile back at her. ] Thank you Grune! I-I figured I might as well help in someway.

[ Its kept his mind off of things at least. ] Are you enjoying the countdown towards the new year?

The new year?

[Guess who has absolutely no idea what's being celebrated right now.]

Oh! Yes. All of this celebration is basically for when the new year begins. It typically happens on January first.

[ Helios will teach you Grune! ]

Oh, does it?

[Hopefully he doesn't mind repeating the lesson a few dozen times....]

[folklorist]

Yes! It's like the start of a new year. So people tend to make new year resolutions and the like. But really it's just another time to sit around with good friends and enjoy the festivities.

[ Maybe have a little wine and count down the seconds till the next new year. ]

That sounds like Christmas!

[She really likes all these new holidays. They're all so nice!]

[folklorist]

It is! Somewhat...aside from the presents. [ But who's to say you couldn't give people any on the day? Helios smiles. ]

A good thing to celebrate and reflect on. All the things that have happened throughout the year and how in the new one, we can change ourselves to make things better.

[lostinmyway]

And to think of all kinds of ways to be nice to other people?

[folklorist]

Yes! All the different ways to be nice towards one another is definitely a very good resolution to have.

[lostinmyway]

Do you have a resolution, Helios?

[folklorist]

Me? Ah...a-a few. [ Try to open up more. Try to...allow people to get closer. Allow people to help him heal. ] I haven't really given it much thought to be honest.

[lostinmyway]

Oh, that's all right. I'm sure you'll think of something really good.

[folklorist]

I'm certainly going to try! It's amazing, isn't it? How fast the year seemingly went.

[lostinmyway]

Do you think so?

[Surprise, surprise--she didn't notice.]

[folklorist]

Mm well with everything that's happened... [ good and bad are included in this statement. ] Time certainly flies in Luceti. I'll have been here for two years come January ninth I believe.

[lostinmyway]

Oh, my. That's a long time.

[folklorist]

It is, for certain. But the people here make it worth having stayed so long for. I-I really can't complain honestly. [ He shrugs a little and smiles. ] I'm rather grateful for these two years to be honest.

[lostinmyway]

I think I'll be grateful when I'm here that long, too. Everyone here is so kind, aren't they?

[folklorist]

Yes, yes they are. But I really don't expect anything less from the people here. We're all in this together after all.

[lostinmyway]

[She nods.]

Everyone is very good helping each other out, aren't they?

[folklorist]

Oh, yes, so very much so. [ He'll create a beautiful phoenix out of light then and watch as it takes to the air soaring silently about the groups of people outside enjoying the spectacles of the evening. ]

[Grune giggles and applauds at the sight.]
